that state called Osun is just a burden on Nigeria and the oil producing states.....it should be merged with a productive south west state....it doesn't deserve to be a state on its own..... highly parasitic with no contributions

Ondo state an oil producing state owes 3 months salary.

Bayelsa, another oil producing state just got bailed out

Kogi is a mess

Imo is *sighs*

Yet Osun which collects "6 million" in federal allocation started paying salaries for January on monday meaning they owe just 2 months unlike 7-8 months some months ago and yet their federal allocation has not been increased.

I think we need to look at Osun beyong its allocation and ask how the government there has cut down the salary owed workers in yhe face of dwindling finances because in that amswer we will find out how Osun intends to finance a budget of 150 billion

Of course this message will be lost

Egbon, I hope you won't bother yourself responding to the children of hate. from their comments you can see that they can't even differentiate between the allocation from the FG and each state's budget .

Biafrarep:
The more u look, the less you see. Enugu generates about a third of its revenue through IGR, Anambra's budget is relatively small yet its accomplishments is far greater than those whose budgets are double. Desert states with little or no IGR/productivity are fraudulently given more allocation based on !diotic landmass, does Chad's large desert wasteland make it more productive than Equatorial Guinea. Aregberascal must have a money minting machine somewhere in Oshogbo or he must be operating some sort of voodoo economics. Abia & Anambra are performing below optimal levels in terms of IGR, if Enugu & Ebonyi can generate close to 20 billion naira in IGR annualy, then they should be getting double of that amount considering the level of commerce & industry activity in those states.

Slow down.

1. Enugu is a very very poor state and the fact that the state budget is around N80 billion should tell you that the state is very poor.

2. Enugu state's total income every month is including IGR and federal allocation is N4.2 billion

3. Enugu's total wage bill alone is N5.2 billion

4. It means Enugu is not making enough money to even after adding IGR and Federal allocation to pay ordinary workers salary and after paying salary, they are still upside down by N billion which hey have to borrow to fill the gap.

5.Enugu spends it's entire earnings on salary and still owe N1 billion after paying salaries which means Enugu is a broke state and purely a salary only state.

6. This is why Enugu owed salaries and collected salary bail out.

7. Enugu can not achieve anything simply because there is no money to achieve anything hence not starting and commissioning anything.

8. The Aregbe you people love to hate commissions projects all over the place even more than all the SE states and even Akwa ibom combined... Let me know if you need facts because I have a lot.

9. Anambra is also a very poor state going by what it generates and total yearly budget.

Btw, Enugus IGR monthly is N1.2 billion x 12 is N14.4 billion.

@diana158 stop dishing out false info. Edo State 2016 budget is 116 billion and not 111 billion as you stated. It was presented to the Edo State house of assembly by Comrade Adams Oshiomole with capital expenditure of 58% and recurrent expenditure of 42%.

And it happens to be Oshiomole's lowest budget since he became governor because his successful govt is ending this year and most of the capital projects are those which is already ongoing and plans completing this year, e.g the ultra modern central hospital in sapele road, Upper Siluko Rd and many others.

So please get your facts right and stop misinforming the misinformed.

Enugu's total population is 4 million

Lagos state's total population is 20 million

Enugu's wage bill monthly is N5.2 billion

Lagos state's wage bill is N6 billion

Lagos state has the second largest labor force in Nigeria after the FG

The question is, why is Enugu and Lagos state paying out the same amount in wages every month?

Obviously, the government of Enugu is scheming and cheating the people of Enugu cia ghost workers collecting billions in salaries.

Enugu should be able to pay salaries comfortably every month without owing, they just have to trim the fat and get rid of the salary scam and ghost workers and this is not limited to Enugu, same is happening in Delta and many salary owing states..

Nigerians hate the south-east bad.

Despite the high density population they are amongst the lowest in allocation.

Yet they always top in education, business.
