DAV001: the first que is are you from Ilorin or kwara? if no then r u from any of d catchment areas?. my cousin applied with a score of 268 and 78% in post utme yet he neva got medicine... i also heard a lot of high scores in utme abd p.utme dat neva got mbbs. i only feel if my cousin was from ilorin or its catchments, maybe he would have gotten in with dah high score... if you have LONG LEGS then good but if you dont have, dont get scared. prepare intensively for d post utme and involve God as no1 factor and you will be smiling... i hope this help? other medicos contributions will go a long way. |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by SweetieConstie(f): 2:44pm On Mar 29, 2016 |
DAV001:Hmmm.... Unilorin is an extremely competitive school and Medicine and Surgery is equally an extremely competitive course... You can check the statistics of those who applied for Medicine and Surgery in Unilorin on myschool.com.ng but I learnt they're about 12,000+ aspirants that applied for that course! Last year, I had some friends who scored extremely high in both UTME and Post-UTME for that course in Unilorin... Some had their courses changed while some others weren't offered admission at all... For instance, a friend had 264 nd 76 in post-UTME but she was rather given Food-Science, can you imagine that? Another had 259 nd 80 but wasn't offered admission at all... Do you now see the great competition you're into? Not trying to discourage you... But if you know you wanna go to school this year, I'd suggest you either change your course or your institution except u have a VERY VERY STRONG connection in Unilorin! That school is a hot-cake... Just make the right choices! Hope this helps? |

Superjaytop:requirements says "2.1" i.e Second class Upper and a nysc certificate... as for the level, nobody is sure, we'll have to wait for 2016 D.E aspirants to confirm that |

Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by labodinho: 7:05pm On Mar 29, 2016 |
walleygee01: Hello I'll advice your friend to give a try again. He's frm catchment (ogun state) and he's not going to be a novice for this year's post utme exam since he wrote the exam once and had 27/40.He'll just need to work hard towards the post utme to score 32+/40.As at last year,I still saw a score of 38/40 so 32 isn't "impossible". |

Evening Docs, eem i'm just wondering why i could feel bitter taste in my mouth after i'd applied chlorophenicol eye drop in my itchy eyes.... Could it be that there is a link between the eye and mouth? *thinking aloud |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by IkembaCMD(m): 11:09pm On Mar 29, 2016 |
NeonDee: Actually, Yes there might be a link. On the inside edge of your eye close to your nose, There is a deepening containing holes..called the Lacrimal punctum . When you shed tears or have another liquid in your eyes, some of it drains into these holes and then into the lacrimal sac or the nasolacrimal duct, and eventually into the back of your nose and throat, where you might get a taste.... Health statistics say this is sometimes normal and safe.. You could see your Doc though if you have doubts... |
