either Lagos or Abuja, you will still meet those hungry immigration officers that will delay you unnecessarily just to take cash from you as a first timer. (Hold some naira)

It's always advisable to hold much cash with you (dollars ofcus) as a first timer in case of any issue when you get there.

Hello everyone...I have been reading the previous comments on this thread for some time and I must admit that u guys are doing a great job. With d info av gathered here i am beginning to form lecturer as regards UAE travel matters. to my friends even though av not been to their embassy in Nigeria here talk more of going to d UAE...Lol

I have a question :
Which is better and advisable, searching for jobs in d UAE(Dubai especially) with SINGLE as marital status on ones CV or as MARRIED?
If "married" is better, does one need to show marriage certificate as proof?
What kind of accommodation will b given?
What benefits will d married individual enjoy from d company?
Will they allow d man bring in his wife later? If yes how long will it take after working will d company and who is to bear the cost?

Thanks to all in anticipation of your prompt response.

I don't know how your pocket is, but with what I have experienced once, I will always advice ppl to hold above $1000. but it's a pity naira to dollar is now on the race.

Always have negative thinking because anything can happen. People can disappoint you when you get there and the money with you will enable you sort yourself out before any help.

hello my people. am here to give my testimony about my experience in UAE and how people failed to enlighten others in order to make good decision. I came to UAE 2 months ago and the experience has been terrible. this is very unfortunate because most people will not tell others what they are going through here in UAE. I work in a construction and I will advice that please if any agent is offering you employment visa make sure you ask people details about the job session. UAE has other areas that people can work and enjoy good life. I work 9 hours per day inside the sun. I wouldn't have been doing this even if am offered 1 million naira in Nigeria. the salary is very poor against what I was promised from Nigeria and the money is not paid on time. the working conditions are terrible.
My advice is anyone coming to UAE for work please ask a lot of questions about the work. their pattern of work here is terrible and UAE is not meant for lazy people. I also met at lot of Nigerians in UAE but most times my experience is even better than what other people are going through. Most people don't tell the truths. they deceived others into believing that UAE is a Place where you pick money on the street. life is terrible in UAE. People should always come out clean and help others not to make wrong decision. Any Agent promises you employment in construction please run for your life. eg painter, Tiler, welder, Bricklayer, Furniture, labourers, the list is endless.
This is my experience from my area and people should please give their experience from their areas of work in order for other people to make right decision. I work in Rasalkaimah UAE and please Nigerians should avoid this place as much as possible.
I got my employment visa for 2 years from Agent in Nigeria with flight included for #400,000. Anything above this package does not worth it because many people have come to UAE regretting after spending 600k and above and now enslaved themselves. This situation is MOSTLY everywhere in UAE just that people will not come out with the truth.
(UAE includes Dubai and other cities)
just seeing this. God bless you for your honest review.

Thank you bro for sharing. At least you are not among the suffering and smiling ppl that can't tell the truth due to their Nl familiarity.

@matiloco i like your message and i would like to contribute to this....here on this thread what is the number one instruction..DIY...do it yourself...research yourself, plan yourself, book flight and visa yourself, search yourself. With the DIY there's no guarantee and this thread is not to guarantee you a job but simply serves as a guide for you. It doesn't mean you are assured a job. I would have said your comments are aggrandizing but in actual fact you are helping us verify our claims which are that there are better opportunities here in UAE that the menial jobs some people here feel are branded 'for Nigerians only' are done by mostly bangali and pakistani nationals..and I can bet you are very few Nigerians doing the job you do...if not only you in your company. If you have basic English language skills and/or secondary school leaving certificate kindly ADVANCE AND IMPROVE yourself...with UAE certifications that can better your remaining years here...try gcas.ae. ..iata.org...hse.gov.uk or even dps if possible...better still...fervently pray for direction from the MOST HIGH and keep researching and planning as you have advised all of us and it will be well with you...if you dont like books search for biz opportunities with prayer...surely if you look well there is a way for you...best regards bro and I wish you greater experiences than the unfortunate present situation...quote author=agarawu23 post=44476275]just seeing this. Just for emphasis.....

Let us look at things differently, please if you are convinced that Dubai is the place you will make it, please go for it. But just be ready to be disciplined, drop any form of naija pride, no lavish lifestyle, stay focused and have a plan.

Some people need to go to Dubai to make it. Imagine someone who is an OND holder who does security in naija collecting 20k and you suddenly tell him that he will at least get three times that pay somewhere else and you tell him not to go for it? I even think security in Dubai will be safer than the one been done in Naija (i am not sure o..just saying)

Infact let me say this, i had a friend who as at last 3 years was collecting 14k as a security guard (prime guard security) in RCCG camp (current salary now is 18k) are you telling me such a person will be told that there is a job of 60k in Dubai and he will not die there? What about BSC holders who could not even get a good job in Naija..what should they do? no harm in trying if they are convinced to go for it. Everybody's situation in life is different and we need to put this into consideration.

My boss Agarawu23 so far on this thread, i think both the positives and Negatives have been succinctly discussed for all to peruse and make their decisions. Lets not paint dubai as a no go area i beg of you. Some people are making it in Dubai and some people will still go there and make it and some will not make it (even if they go to america to hustle)

For all intending applicants, Do not use any agent and i think it has been said on here that the best thing is to go there on a visit and physically apply for jobs yourself.

This just came in this morning from my bro and i wish to share

The four elements of success

(1) Know where you are going in life

(2) Know how to get there

(3) Be willing to pay the price (diligence, discipline, Delay gratification)

(4) Be relentless in your Pursuit

Remember: The laws of success are universal, irrespective of tribe, race, geographical location or religion.

May God bless our hustle.
