This is the height of deceit. The tough fuel crisis under GEJ was caused by the same Buhari and Apc when they said that Subsidy is fraud and they won't pay. The importers simply refused to import product. So it was due to Apc and Buhari.GEJ is far better than Buhari. We need him back. It isn't only about fuel but everything. Nigerians are really getting what they chose!

In my personal opinion i believe what we are facing in Nigeria today is just a little sacrifice needed to make things right. And am not surprise if Nigerians prefer to choose GEJ administration to that of PMB because most Nigerians are the descendant of Philippines who prefer to spare the thief life's to nail jesus the savior.

So Buhari is your Jesus, your own lord and personal savior? What even qualifies a man that threatened to soak dogs and baboons in blood, said a fight against boko haram was injustice to the north, allowed the killing of armless protesters, allowed the massacre of several hundreds of Shiits, allowed his kinsmen to run amok and waste lives on daily basis but will have 76 people who stood up to protest such killings arrested with a bail of 200k placed on their heads, a man that according to his scam budget will feed fat off our wealth, a man that chose to tax the masses to death, a man that allowed several scams to happen under his nose (even while serving under OBJ - N2.8billion went missing and while serving under Abacha - most of the money stolen under Abacha was stolen thru him), to be tagged Jesus?

I know you're no christian because if you were, you'd have been more guided in your statements but to think a supposed human being would produce this tanker load of watery faecal deposit, leaves so much to desire.. Little wonder the white still regard Nigerians as black monkey niggers..

You see, this cheery picking is the reason we can never arrive at a consensus over the state of affairs in the country.

How dare you absolve the past admin for what we experienced, conveniently laying the blames at the doorsteps of "detractors", only to lampoon the current admin siting administrative ineptitude? What manner of logic is that??

Granted, the scarcity this time has lasted longer than expected and it is indeed regrettable, but you don't credit detractors for a similar experience under Jonathan- that to me is the height of chaotic reasoning.

Positions such as this taken by pro-Jo posters is the reason why I told myself I'd be damned if I openly condemned/criticised Baba's policies/admin (I feel my criticism of the budget was even in error).

As for that Linda-Ikeji puss wannabe, keep following around, you have a very loooooooooong way to go. I shall so ignore you you'd begin to doubt even your own existence. Fugly beyach. cheesy

At the end of the day when Nigerians decide to gulp another man's opinion, you have a situation where people are suffering because of flack governement policies, we are called wailers. I guess its because some of us are still doing "dady give me money" "mumy give me mony" is why we can afford data to spew ignorance.

2012 when they removed subsidy, and told us the economic benefits, our elders dem incited Nigerians to go to Ojota that Obesere, Daddy Showkey, chris Brown were going to perform for us and told us to fight subsidy removal that its our "fundamental human right". This is the price we'll pay for our rights o!

Need I remind you that a new government was coming in and subsidy payments aren't made upfront. You're meant to bring in th product, provide evidence of your import allocation and get paid. Didn't the current governement receive their handover documents? Are we forgetting the paramount long standing and often ignored rule that government is a thing of CONTINUITY.

When in 20008, the wory went through recession, we had a foreign reserve and and excess crude account created to cushion those effects. And oil at that time was $38. Inflation held strong at single digit. When the boom started and Okonjo Iweala save for rainy daysand start investing in a Soverign Wealth Fund what did the Governor's Forum do? They told her to ShARE THE MONEY. National Assembly questioned her competence and told her to halt those directives. When the constituion provides for a minimum of SSCE to contest for electoral office.

Lest we forget also that 21 of the governors saying they are agents of change were formerly of the PDP. They jumped ship not for you and I but to line their pockets for the future. The same set of people that fought against policies that will have sereved as cushion to this shock are the ones crying blue murder. The Justice League of Ministers he was trying to assemble, what have we got to show for it. No economic direction for a period of 5-6 months and you expect serious minded people to pump in money into your economy?

The stock market has lost 26 percent of its value, inflation has hit double digits, the black market is the official market for foreign exhange the CBN, SMES are suffering, power hit 0MW nationwide, his MDAS will want to act on something and Baba will shake body and say its "body language" and move in the opposite direction and Nigerians end up being the ones to pay the price for economic ineptitude?

I've tried so hare to believe that this governement will stabilise our polity but what happens where the no.1 person meets a problem and resorts to de-marketing his own country and resorting to blame when they came on the platform of change and promising to fix the problem? And he has people around him who were part of that problem?

Nigerians should resort to being constructive in criticism and not hauling insults on people who are still struggling to make ends meet wasting productive man hours queing to get PMS. This current scarcity began in the 4th quarter of 2015 and someone puts up a post of a situation that was bad notwithstanding but didn't go past a week? It will only get better but until then, PMB has disappointed me.

There was fuel scarcity then, but you should have searched for the reason behind it, for the analysis to be properly done. There were a lot of unguarded statements about the fuel subsidy By PMB while waiting to take over the government. The marketers felt that he would not pay them their subsidy hence the hoarding of fuel reigned. At the peak of the scarcity, when there was reasonable assurance, Capital oil announced the release of 70m litres of pms into the economy and others followed suit. Now you know that Buhari and APC have been the reason behind fuel scarcity in the recent time. This of course has left Nigerian economy worse than they met it, but they will give account of Nigeria some time soon.
scarcity is always caused by one thing or another.

During the end of gej's tenure, it was caused cos the marketers felt pmb won't pay then their subsidy owed as you stated above. Why did Jonathan owe them?

The fact that he owed them is enough to tie him to the blame of the difficulties experienced then.

He Prolly looted the money.

The Unscientific Defence for Buhari

Soon after Buhari administration took off, debate about whether it’s going in the right direction begun in earnest. There were mainly two camps in this debate then: those mainly APC supporters who so much believed in Buhari administration, I also believed in it, and PDP sympathisers who Femi Adèsina, the president’s media aide, called, unapologetically, WAILING WAILERS. This group would go to any length to convince us that Buhari is failing even whereas he is doing his best. For this group, Ayo Fayose, the Ekiti State Governor, is their chairman.

Lately however, the polity swings into serious crisis: There is acute shortage of fuel supply; electricity has gone from being epileptic to obsolete; there is forex issue; delay in signing the terribly padded budget into law. The economy is to say the least stagnant. There is no clear direction so to say as to where the administration is heading and people on the street are feeling it hard. They begin to complain and demand that Buhari should sit up and address these challenges for which he was elected. For this simple and civil demand, those whose approach of defending anything Buhari whether wrong or right the ace columnist Segun Adeniyi dubbed in his last Thursday column as BUHARIDEEN reacted angrily and issued an order; that Nigerians especially the northern recalcitrant should either shut up and wait for things to begin working or be just patient because Buhari cannot fix 16 years of PDP sabotage. Instead they open a door for discussion, they shut it up with these two unscientific premises.

When Buhari came to power either of the two should have happened ideally. What he had met on ground be maintained or improved. If there is need for dismantling all the previous legacies then we should be told what the administration will do to construct new ones, which could in turn have explained why we are in this so difficult a situation. Thus the need for us to exercise more patient. Neither of these is forthcoming. Earlier last year we witnessed improved, some would even say relatively stable, electricity supply, availability of petroleum at filling stations and naira appreciating against the dollar. Rather than we employ a scientific reasoning to analyse the developments to see if they are sustainable, we simply attributed them to Buhari’s body language and integrity– two critically important, of course, ingredients of leadership’s ability to deliver, but perhaps archaic without clear policy direction.

The stability of the electricity supply for example could be because we were in rainy season and when the dry season begins we may go back to where we were. We posed this but nobody wanted to listen. We wanted then a further interrogation into the possible cause, but no one seemed to want to think beyond the belief that things will naturally work because Buhari is the president. The quality of these services today we have seen have so much deteriorated and begun to have far-reaching impacts on the lives of the common man and it’s therefore only natural for the common man to react. Body language and integrity alone cannot fix a system. They are only a contributory factor. It’s unscientific to rely on just these two therefore to deliver result.

Is a nature of man to complain. Man will never ever be satisfied. Yes, man is never patient ever since and will never be, on anything. His creature described him as being in haste and impatient in achieving an end. He would ask his creature for a thing and will be haste to see it fruition. He just can’t wait. He expects it at a certain time and if the time comes to pass without that which he asked for being granted, he starts to complain that his creature has abandoned him. God would grant man many, many of his desires however, but when HE put him once in a trial, may be even meant to prepare him for a near future challenge that will see him soaring into prosperity, he groans, ‘oh! My creature has put me in a difficult condition despite I being an obedient servant’.

If man can be this impatient and to some extent ingrate toward his creature’s benevolence, I wonder why or how he will ever be different toward president Buhari. To ask him to be patient with Buhari in this situation is to ask him to act outside his normal human nature, which isn’t possible. Of course patient is a virtue, but we should understand that virtue is never conventional. It’s given to a very few privileged ones regardless of their social status. Man’s rationality of virtue or even need of it flees in the face of severe condition. That’s why he is allowed to, to an extent, transgress in such condition.

What then do you think? If Nigeria becomes like Beijing by the expiration of Buhari administration Nigerians will still be satisfied? They will never. Don’t even deceive yourself. Man anywhere on earth is complaining; from Washington to Johannesburg, all the way to Iceland. But being man an impatient rational animal has its advantages. If man is that patient he won’t have been conquering nature to arrive at all these grand technological discoveries we today enjoy. Lest we forget, himself Buhari, was a beneficiary of Nigerians’ impatient impulses. They couldn’t just any longer tolerate Jonathan’s ineptitude. They therefore booted him out and brought in Buhari to address all their sufferings. When they are not seeing the result. It’s only ideal to expect reaction.

Faruk Danmadami poses a serious scientific challenge. It could sound rhetorical but is at the same time very scientific. He says those who ask us to be patient should have the decency to tell us ‘for how long’. He adds when I speak with him that; if we are convinced with cogent reasons that by a so time things will work, he laughingly concludes, “Baba-Bala we will go back and lock ourselves away in the room and wait. No matter the difficulties we will not talk until at the expiration of the time given”. He means that, if the time comes and there are still issues unaddressed, the Buharideens could give space for intellectual discussions on the administration’s policies. Without a proper plan in a certain sector to be achieved at a stipulated time even if you address a challenge now it will only be cosmetic, which will collapse in due course. And I agree with him.

Human being by nature as social animal has his demands changing according to how satisfied he is with his preceding demands. His priority may be at first security, but once he got that, he will begin to demand for food. When food becomes available and has enough in store, he will cry out shelter. He should be given shelter or he goes to war over it. This is a natural human behaviour. To know that human demands are according to his satisfaction, we can see how our demands vary from one place to another and from one social status to another. What Americans demand from their government is different from what we demand here. But the moment we are given that which we want for now and are satisfied, we will, like Americans, begin to demand for LUXURIES. Just look at the beginning of man to date to understand this theory. We can see how his priorities keep on changing and in accordance to his satisfaction. It was food first, then shelter, then leadership, then recognition and then this and then that, and even to the level of making smart phone part of his basic needs. For this I know Tijjani Ahmed will refer us all to Abraham Maslow law of HIERARCHY of NEED.

Francis Fukuyama in his roundly countered book The End of History and Last Man, predicts that, at the end of history the last man in the part of the world he describes as POST – HISTORY will be tired of peace and therefore goes to war, which will hence cause him to return to his old order of daring violent death for recognition. Some would give example of world war to rationalise this point; that despite all the conventional causes being given both remote and immediate such as nationalism, armament, balance of power, assassination of Prince Ferdinand and name them, there is the tendency that man had lived in peace and prosperity occasioned by Industrial Revolution for about a century in Europe and then decided to go for war.

You need to put yourself in place of that who’s genuinely complaining to understand his feelings. Many lost their jobs because of this economic crunch. Someone observed that the rate at which people are losing jobs in private sector, you will be forgiven to think that at the time this administration creates 1000 jobs, some 700 may be lost somewhere within the economy. For someone whose work solely depends on electricity supply, his family will have to go to bed with empty stomach because whereas there is no electricity for about two or three days, he couldn’t get fuel to power his generator for same number of days in order to work to meet his family’s end. If this man complains. Comfort him or give him hope with explanation of what the administration is doing to fix the problem not insulting him for daring to protest.

If for nothing but for two Buhari’s recent retraction and denial of his action and speech about sacking Universities Councils and 5000 naira stipend to unemployed youth will make us adjust that “Buhari is always right” propensity. We should understand that we are making Buhari lose supporters every blessed day with this attitude, and this kind of support is only a recipe for failure. What common man wants is result not shouting match and the earlier we open our minds for critical discussions on the national policies, the better for our collective growth. MAY BUHARI SUCCEED.

If you ask me nothing reasonable. Trust me, Aremu Obasanjo remains Nigeria's biggest badluck.

So suddenly they stopped giving aids because Obj was out of government? That shows the level of confidence they have in him being able to manage the nation.

Even without any intelligence gathering, every common man can see how Gej's goons were butchering the economy on daily basis.

If you are the president of the US, France, UK will you put your money into a business being run an ineffectual manager and his voracious croonies?

The aids got during Obj's reign that were left as foreign reserve, why was it depleted even when GEJ didn't experience this level of drop in oil price ?

GEJ turning blind eye towards the wanton rate of corruption sole-handedly finished him besides other insensitivities.

Nigeria is bigger than this nonsense we experience almost every quarter in the year.

May Allah deliver us from bad leaders in Jesus name. Ase.
The simple and only solutions:
1. Removal of subsidy
2. Refurbishing our existing refinaries
3. Building of six or more new refinaries for local consuption
4. Banning the sale of products to jerry cans
5. Constitution of a special task force to ensure that products are not diverted and that filling
stations sell at approve love-vendor prices.

One of the major problems wrong with Nigerians is that we forget easily. This is the reason why hardened criminals and looters in the past can easily come back and contest for public office to the extent of winning. It is so sad that some people, mostly youths who are the leaders of tomorrow are going about with the slogan "#BringBackOurCorruption". They say they want the last administration presided by Good luck Ebele Jonathan back in power cos they can't stand the current fuel scarcity amidst other challenges that I believe the Nation will breeze through in due time.

This brainwashed blind bats who love to view things ethnically are quick to forget that the fuel scarcity experienced towards the end of the last administration's tenure was really unbearable compared to what we are currently facing now. Then, major sectors were shutting down, from telecommunications to the media, from aviation to banking. Nigerians were literally cut off from the rest of the world during that period. A period in which getting a bus to the bank to withdraw money was difficult cos buses had no fuel. When you manage to get to the bank, you are told you arrived late cos they close early due to shortage of diesel. Was the power sector any different?

Take a look at the pictures of fuel scarcity events that took place in the last administration below and tell me that Nigerians didn't make a good choice in voting them out.

op..let's be honest ..some of us are not PDP or APc ...if there is one area GEJ scored 90% or above it is in fuel supply availability and affordability.
what u posted was at tail end after his defeat...it is not as if it was d norm in his adminstration.. never.. that one can testify..
here within first one year of PMB we have had unprecedented recurring fuel scarcity of national embarrassment.
so posting a one episode of fuel crisis in tail end of a five year tenure smacks of nothing but pure attempt to label a dog bad name... Nigerians know better....
we cant be fooled by such pure mischief....
if Yorubas were not part of this govt, hope you know Soyinka, Falana, Bakare etc would have mobilised protest against this current situation.. however. because they sold PMB to Nigerians as Messiah, they are too ashamed to do it....
so the onus is on paid agents like you to write such stupid stories as this....

Nigerians are amazing people. Reviewing the comments on this thread, shows how shallow Nigerians think. Not backing any administration nor favouring Buhari either, I fail to see why we should engage in an argument that is based on comparing administration's successes and failure. The hard truth is that we haven't had any form of progress in this country for more than a decade now, regardless of whom was at the helm of affairs. Jonathan was a colossal failure, it will be saddening if you think otherwise. Buhari just started his regime let's see how far he goes. If we have any sense at all, we should know that it will take more than just over 9months to eradicate the rot in the Nigerian system. Because fuel affects the common man, that is why we have so much out cry, but this is just the same level of retardation that is experienced in all the sectors of the economy. Because of the level of illiteracy even amongst so called University graduates we fail to see the bigger picture but do not relent to open our big mouths to shout when fuel is in shortage of supply

Because of the level of illiteracy even amongst so called University graduates we fail to see the bigger picture but do not relent to open our big mouths to shout when fuel is in shortage of supply
pls stop talking with your tongue in cheek..
what are the very signs to show that PMB is going the right way..
the right way is that no single road is tarred after one year?
the right way is that PMB is not holding regular meetings with his ministers?
the right way is that investors are leaving the country?
is this the first time we will have a dip in crude oil prices..this dip is a recurring event since 1970. go read history
what was crude oil price when OBJ came in? 12$ or so ..but nothing close to 30& ..though later rose ..was OBJ blaming past rulers or he set about working ..
the truth is PMB is achaic and his methods ineffective... dats all.....we can argue till Morrow..but the earlier we all know he is not in the right path..the better for us all

The animal that posted this is an idiot.Under GEJ,how long did any scarcity last. Was he not around to salvage the situation instead your benefactor is busy junketing around the universe with nothing to show for but for his ancestral nomadic nature.

I wouldn't know about that. All I know is that a played a major role in ridding Jonathan out of Aso Rock.

So he's definitely part of APC, so don't still come up here and tag him among the 16 years of PDP..
