Heffalump:Perhaps the term IPOB gives u nightmares and day scare! Anyway, it i s a thing of pride to even be ipob. Why are u not proud to declare yourself as fulani but, like collective deceptive name of hausa/fulani when everyone carries his/her identity. Anyway, I am a proud yoruba man. rusher14: Bro you need to ignore some people. They are doing their paid job. Since PDP lost in the last election, the Internet has not witnessed peace from some people of the SS and SE. The beautiful thing is that their Wailing or Weeping does not stop FG from achieving in this dispensation. Whathe GEJ can't achieve in 6 yrs they expect PMB to achieve in 1 yr, even after a battered state of economy left behind by their clueless grand master GEJ. Soar loses! 1 Like |

Making Nigerians hope for China to come and develop Nigeria, not the people we elected to do that. Another grand deception of the masses. An Abooooki APC must have prepared this article. 1 Like |

And to further prove my earlier point on page 1, below is list of countries that had by-passed the world bank and IMF offers and made currency swap deals with China. As at yet, the only African country on the list is South Africa!. 1. Table below shows the countries that have swaps with China as at 2015 This's a clear proof African governments are being held hostage by the IMF and the world bank. 2. Map below shows the countries that have swaps with China as at 2015. Source: http://www.africanliberty.org/feyi-fawehinmi-how-to-make-sense-of-nigerias-currency-swap-deal-with-china/ 1 Like |

donstevoz:U see your problem why u are part of the 70% failure of buhari,Buhari is 30% himself ; rationalizing failure! Pls for the love of nation stop the 'what did GeJ do' kind of response when pressed on Buhari. Simply explain what is Buhari's economic policy direction in a layman's language. Perhaps, we can start long academic jargons that will ultimately deflate the import of the question. Buhari is always expected to be better sadly he is a disaster! So stop comparing else u will make GeJ become saintly. |

TPAND: To answer your question, Ethiopia is the second largest most populated country in Africa, next to Nigeria. Roughly about 93 million. Be an agent of change from corrupt ways, shun ruthless corrupt leaders. Stop portraying your idiocy online by arguing blindly to castigate present administration. I am definitely sure you didn't oppose Jonathan government aggressively as you're now. 1 Like |

tuale4u: Several African countries, Nigeria included were recommended to diversify their economies in the past by the "evil West" among others. Their leaders said they would do so when times were tough but stopped when times got better (oil price went up). This is nothing new. Let us hope the president will stick to the diversification when times get better this time around. 1 Like 1 Share |

musicwriter: Western countries have a huge interest in prospering African economies for many reasons: 1. They would have more markets to sell their products. 2. They would have safe countries to invest in and thus profit. 3. They would have to worry less about illegal immigration. 4. They would have to worry less about war torn regions giving birth to terrorism. And the list goes on. 1 Like 1 Share |

Kainene77: Really?. Haven't the west been doing that since 1425 when the Portuguese first arrived?. Someone has claimed to be helping you for over 500 years and we're still poor?. And all we do is get poorer while they get richer?. For your information, they're rich because we're poor. And we're poor because they're rich. All we need is find our own ways of solving our problems and western economies would collapse naturally. Africa has given more help to western nations, and still do. 1 Like |

musicwriter: The Portugese promised you to become rich? The colonialists who purchased slaves promised you to boost your economy? For your information, they're rich because we're poor. And we're poor because they're rich. All we need is find our own ways of solving our problems and western economies would collapse naturally. The reason NUMBER ONE in this day and age why Nigeria is poor is because their own people / leaders mismanaged the abundant natural and human resources. Africa has given more help to western nations, and still do. They help the West but they can't help themselves? What an irony! Drop that victim mentality, it will empower you and your country. |

Kainene77: No victim mentality over here at all, but fact mentality. So, what we're saying is for all the reasons you mentioned above, we want to cut ties with the west. We want to try China. 1 Like |

musicwriter: Who is we? By the way, the USA along with some other Western countries are your top export destinations. I wouldn't chop off the hands that feed me. Luckily, you are not running the country. And nobody said that you can't have bilateral relations with China if you have them with the West. It's a globalized world. Educate yourself some more. |

Kainene77: Problem is dealings with the west had never been to our advantage. And be informed, all third world countries and more would cut off from the west. It's a question of ''when'' not ''if''. Africa would trade among ourselves!. Below is list of countries that had by-passed the world bank and IMF offers and made currency swap deals with China. South Africa is already there, Nigeria would join soon. The whole world is looking east not west!. 1. Table below shows the countries that have swaps with China as at 2015 This's a clear proof African governments are being held hostage by the IMF and the world bank. 2. musicwriter: They would have been to Nigeria's advantage if Nigeria's leaders hadn't looted the funds and loans they were given and if they had made the necessary structural reforms. Simple! Africa will isolate itself from the rest of the world? And you think that you will create a utopia when Nigerians are not even able to respect other tribes within their own borders? Below is list of countries that had by-passed the world bank and IMF offers and made currency swap deals with China. South Africa is already there, Nigeria would join soon. The whole world is looking east not west!. So what if they have swaps with China? Tell me something new. This's a clear proof African governments are being held hostage by the IMF and the world bank. I don't see any correlation between the swaps and the being held hostage. You don't make sense here at all. |

Kainene77: The root cause of corruption in Africa is that the model of brainwashing education left us by colonial powers doesn't allow the education of elites with true African mindset. So, the politicians loot and siphon off our monies to Switzerland, London, USA, all still to profit the west. How many times have you heard a traditional African ruler stole money?. correlation between the swaps and the being held hostage. There's a clear correlation. We deal with China and we don't have to depend on the west for any thing. We'll be free from IMF and world bank Trojan loan. Yes, Africa can trade among itself and isolate the rest of the world once we've done an our homework. 1 Like |

musicwriter: Explain to me what the "true African mindset" is. How many times have you heard a traditional African ruler stole money?. Serious question? There's a clear correlation. We deal with China and we don't have to depend on the west for any thing. We'll be free from IMF and world bank Trojan loan. You mean, you want to depend on China instead on the West. I can't blame you. The scars of colonialism are still visible. Yes, Africa can trade among itself and isolate the rest of the world once we've done an our homework. What homework? |

Kainene77:
The true African mindset would be when the west have no influence whatsoever on an African mind. Like, Russians, Japanese, Chinese. True independence. Homework. I'm working on that one. You'll hear about it pretty soon on this forum. |
Re: Like Ethiopia, Like Nigeria: How China Helped Ethiopia Economy. by Kainene77: 8:53pm On Apr 17, 2016 |
musicwriter: The West has had a lot of influence on Russia, Japan and China and continues to do so. Russians have turned away from communism toward a capitalist system. Japan is the co-founder of the IMF that you all so despise. The Chinese elites want democratic reforms based on the models in the West. Likewise, these countries have and continue to have an impact on the West. It's called globalization, you can flow with it or fight it but you won't stop it. And I still don't know what the "true African mindset" is. I'm working on that one. You'll hear about it pretty soon on this forum. I can't wait. |

Kainene77: You've not answered the question. You're the one that said you don't understand. And, by-the-way, stop using that evasive psychic trick of boxing me to questions. I know more about that than you do, but have kept my cool cause I really want to help you see things from an African point of view. If you want us to have a clean discussion answer questions when asked as I've been doing. |
Re: Like Ethiopia, Like Nigeria: How China Helped Ethiopia Economy. by Kainene77: 10:02pm On Apr 17, 2016 |
musicwriter: First of all, I am African so I don't need your African point of view. Secondly, why do you have a problem with my questions when you know so much? Rhetorical question. Thirdly, this is a clean discussion. I am very matter-of-fact oriented, it would be nice if you joined me. |
