1. The statement, taken in isolation may not mean anything, but within the context of the reply to the "alledged" conversation, it is an outright admission that she paid her way to secure votes. Now this is first a moral issue, how the law will interprete it is another matter. Does it not bother you that Senators we voted for to represent us in the National Assembly will talk to a citizen that way? Does it not bother you that the mentality of a typical politician like her is that once she's paid her way through, she doesn't give a hoot about the citizens?

2. Second, this has been trending on twitter since morning and the retweets is devoid of party affiliation, but by all well meaning Nigerians that want the good of this country. i paid all the way is different from i bribed all the way. nothing was waived for her. she paid for her forms and all the contigencies, why do we include bribe as part of the contigencies? because you did it does not mean everybody did it. stop misinterpreting her statement.

she's obviously saying that whether people voted or not, she would have gotten the position anyway. Anybody who voted was wasting their time as she had already acquired the position by paying for it

The so-called text message, if it actually emanated from the senator, can even be interpreted or understood in many ways.

She did not explicitly state that she bought votes but stated that she paid all the way.

She could easily refer to the money she spent obtaining the declaration of intent/nomination form or money spent lobbying the party caucuses both in the state and at the federal levels.

The question will then be whether those practices are not almost normative in Nigeria...
