I Guess You Applied The Chicken Manure In Its Wet Form,it Generates A Lot Of Heat While Decomposing .Its Better To Spread & Let It Dry In The Sun So It Releases Its Heat Before Mixing It With The Soil. vanpeele: |

Silvereze: Nice blog. Seems you focus mainly on livestock. In my opinion, poultry and fish aren't profitable except if the people buying after you've laboured buy it at a good price. Managing crops is easier. Regarding life, goats, sheep and cows are better. They're easier to manage (IMO) than fish and chicken. More grease to you blog elbows. |

Was thinking of creating a thread for my cucumber sack farming experience but after much thought I decided to share it on here on the motivator's thread. Hope I'm welcome Oga vanpeele ? Most of the requirements for the farm are in place but due to the murano scarcity I've decided to go for a heirloom cucumber variety... Though I know the murano may catch up to the super marketer variety I'm planting when they arrive. Going to finish the bagging tomorrow and sow the seeds. Then cutting bamboo for the trellis on Tuesday. I love the concept of sack farming because of its numerous benefits as listed by the OP but I think the greatest of all the benefits is growing so much on so little space. I'll ake a rough measurement of the area I'm planting 1000 crops so as to let you guys understand this more. |

I was able to fill the remaining 70 bags yesterday so I have 170 bags for starts. Will add more if I can get the murano seeds. So for now the farm has 680 plants excluding the ones I planted on the ground.Luckily for me it rained yesterday after planting though I watered lightly after sowing. I'll go check on them by Saturday and replant were necessary .Lots of pictures coming up if network allows. |

vickychuk: Kudos to your efforts. From my experience with super marketer, it doesn't like morning dew or water on its leaves. It dries them out. |
