The complaint is from mainly Lagos and Abuja people, for those in Port Harcourt that bought fuel at 200 naira per litre 145 is hard but not too hard.

Anyway its now a winner takes all while the spectators watch in amazement.

your blind support for this government is sickening

u lack common sense.
really?
during the time of GEJ did APC ever applaud Jonathan even when he did gud..they planted hatred in to people mind using the media, they never pray for things to get better, it was lies after lies against the gentle man, now u are telling me I should pray for APC
nope..what is gud for the goose is gud for the gander
Nigerians should continue to suffer because APC planted hatred in people's minds using the media?

Don't you think that its the common men and not the politicians that will suffer if things keep getting worse?

Common sense.

Yes o! I voted for this CHANGE, and I would still vote for this same Change if the options were either this or GEJ. It matters not if it is 3 years from now, given a choice between GEJ and PMB, I will vote PMB all over again.

Now to the fuel price, during the scarcity, everyone kept saying "Just make the fuel available even if it is at a higher price!", now all over Nairaland people were writing that they buy fuel at N140, N150 and N170. Now that the price is now a range with N145 the highest price to ensure availability, people are still screaming.

BTW, the partial removal by GEJ, what happened to the money saved? ALL looted into different pockets! I am more comfortable with this administration pushing through the needed changes than those megalomaniacs in the last administration wacking all the savings.

Where the money went to? Remember the SURE-P program? Same program that funded all those new plus renovated projects from roads to healthcare centres? Yeah, thats where the money went to under GEJs watch.

And whos is responsible for d continues slide/decline in d value of naira again dollar? at US 85cent is very much affordable by its citizens!

Akainzo:

I definitely cannot swear with my life, as even Jesus won't swear with His life that man would not be man. However, I am persuaded by the antics of this administration that things are changing and thus able (and willing) to give them the benefit of doubt.

US has so many local refineries, they produce crude and petrol sells at the pump right now at $0.85/L, at the official exchange rate is N170/L. You do the maths.

What is responsible for the continued slide? The answer is simple: Nigeria is making less money. and she has no savings to fall back on!

If a man were to keep receiving less and less amount of money, and he has no savings, what do you think will happen to the standard of living of the family? Is it not normal that there would be problems? is it not normal that he soon won't be buying aso-ebis?

The present problem is caused by 1. Nigeria squandering her earnings, 2. not having a robust foreign reserves and 3. the crash of crude oil prices.
2 out of the 3 causes were things a sane government would have handled and we won't be in this situation, but the Govt didn't handle them and we are in the present situation.

If that hypothetical man above doesn't learn to cut his spending according to his earnings, he would soon be in debts, in rags and living on the streets with his family scattered.

The Bible even warned us about APC, but we obviously don't read our bible. Open to Proverbs 24 vv 21 & 22... "21: My son, fear the Lord, and fear the king as well; do not associate with those that say 'CHANGE'. "22: For their calamity comes quickly ... and the disaster they both may bring"KJV

So upon all the first class they say this Kachikwu has the best way to introduce price deregulation is to cause this artificial hardship and then bring in fuel price increase through the back door without engaging the stakeholders including the masses effectively. Anyway, time will tell. Hope they know the implication of all these rubbish they are doing.

It is a maximum price of 145N per litter. That doesn't mean the price will be 145N per litter at every pump station in Nigeria. Some may sell at 100N. The market will determine the price. I don't like the increase, but we have no choice. We can't afford fuel subsidy. Would rather spend the money on defense and infrastructure and the social intervention fund.
Re: Fuel Increase: Nigerians Lament On Twitter by ohenhen1: 3:07am On May 12, 2016
423 billion Naira capital expenditure for Housing, power and works

135 billion Naira capital expenditure for defense

180 billion Naira cpaital expenditure for transportation.

500 billion Naira for social intervention fund

would you cut that and apply it to fuel subsidy?

When you heard that in this 2016, prisoners feed on 14,000 Naira a day.
Who is fooling who?
I am sure GEJ is the one feeding the prisoners.
How much be your total monthly pay package sef?
Now you see why they say an average Nigerian is an educated illiterate

I kuku nor vote self, but if you voted like my dad who so much had faith in the unrealistic campaign promises, even though I tried to explain to him that the masses will not get the succor they sought for, as fullfilling those promises will be like waving a magic wand,we had so many arguments during the elections,I stayed at home during the election, because even though I was disappointed in GEJ(as I voted for him),he was just too soft for a country with ruthless thieves,I still didn't see a bright future with the crop of people that were decamping at that time,so my people,if you voted, you must be disappointed like my dad,who is more interested in how his pocket is fairing and not some gibberish about policies, strategies, long term advantage and blah blah blah, all the common man wants is to know how his standard of living has been affected by the government, so all this economist here talking crap, abeg spare us,we are not asking for too much, all we want are better living conditions, but all government past and present seem to see this as impossible
