I went to book at Nyanyan General Hospital today u need to see the crowd. I was number 214 on d list at about 7am and we were almost 500 dere. My registration month is August can u believe it, thk God I have private dat am using though yet to start antenatal dere.

That Nyanya General Hospital no be am o, I went there last year to register at 4 months n was given a date to come back abt 2 months after when i'd be 6 months gone already despite giving them my LMP o. I said to myself dt no wonder I didn't see any small bump like my own there except heavily pregnant women. So that means any pregnancy dt might need little assistance go don comot tey tey be dat o before ANC go start sef I went on d said date n even answered questions in their health talk class o, only for them to still send me back that I came late. I jejely settled for d private I was using. Their own too much

@mitchy what I suggest you do is lock yourself up in the house.. lock up in a way that no one will know you are home. And when they come knocking don't respond..i can really understand how you feel.. the day you feel like them being around, allow them and when they start being naughty, send them home. Your excuse should be you have been busy all day and you really need to rest and you will call them when you wake up..shikena..let the mom stay with her over pampered kids..
You just have to be nice about it.. if it means buying lots of junk you know they will like and give them as parting gift till you need them again, get them..
Toddlers can be such a handful and sometimes need to be spanked..they will be more mischievous when they know they can get away with anything and everything with you..who get time..
You just need to find away around it nicely..

I was in dis same situation as urz bt wen I saw it wz getting out of hand,dey ll scatter d whole place, I go rearrange and sweep taya, dey ll b making noise nd throwin diff tantrums. if dia mum calls me dat dey are coming to play wt me, I ll just jejely say that m not feeling fine that I ll call dem 2come wen I am okay bt I wont ooo, wen I did it like 4 times, she got the message nd told her kids not come again. I choptas not, no be u pay my rent bt we still greet and I play wt d kids from a distance nd will be usin style to say 'na only una mama get una power, I no get' make una dey do una ijongbon(stubborness) for dia, she ll evn b laffin at me nd we were good

My Glorious Birth Story:

My EDD according to all the scan I did were 26th April, 1st and 5th May, I wasn't worried because LMP gave me 11th May. As God will have it, I started prepping myself frm the first date by joining the pineapple ministry, baby was already 3.3kg as at 29th April when I went for the last scan. Had to cut down my carbs drastically, went into more proteins and veggies, I must confess, it wasn't easy at all cos I still had my party jollof rice, and never missed sunday rice too.
Moved to my family house on the 30th of April and never missed a day without walking round the street for @ least 30mins. Continued with the long walks n developed serious cramps in btw my thighs. That notwithstanding, I was focused since I had a goal to achieve. My mum will always console me that its the baby resting on that part of my leg.
Since last thursday, I have been very busy in the office cos my middle name na wakaholic, so dem use me wella, didn't complain sha but ended up with cramps around my vjay like d ones that comes during AF. I will always check my panties to see if am wet or the almighty mucus, didn't see none, was only contending with discharge. It got worse on monday nite, no way to lie down, had to start vigilante till abt 2am, I was relieved and slept off, was even online sef.
My leave started on the 10th but had to continue with work cos I had to coach a new staff. My HOD even begged me to come to work on wednesday to prepare letters for the quarter, I did it joyfully, played in d office, said my goodbyes n left by 2pm.

Down to the main matter, on my way home, I started feeling the vjay cramps o, thought it was normal, reached the house, had my usual cold water and ate my garri and okro soup. All of a sudden, a thought came to me to call my SIL to check if its labour, already asked pineapple mamas bt didn't get a reply. So I had my bath, brought out my remaining bag so my mum can bring it if I hear something positive, also carried pad and glove. Went to the health facility by 4:45pm, was checked, lo and behold, 4cm gone without show or waist pain. Had a meeting in church, so had to just peep, nobody even noticed anything.
Got to my hospital by 5:50pm, was checked, same 4cm, admitted, bp 135/80, only to be told that Doctors are on nationwide strike. See me see wahala o, the nurse said I will be charged and my NHIS package can't function, I just weak bt remove fear for mind, anyhow way go dey. Started my walking since d membrane had not ruptured. Now the pain started spreading to to waist, no be small o, had to pause sef while walking, Dh came around past 8 with my rhogam, had to send him back since my aunty and mum were around and ds would go to school. Mumsy even left and it was jst my aunty cos she works there. Became hungry bt didn't want food, had to go look for pineapple but cudnt find any, had to manage water, was checked again by 9.30pm, 7cm, was having a dry throat, she run a line of normal saline, na so I pin for bed o, consultant came around 10pm, na so I dey hold me yansh dey call nurse o, the pressure was too much, breathing techniques no even help, didn't attempt to push o so I won't destroy my powerhouse, I jst use hand dey pack am. She came and said oya madam, let's go. Followed her like one nama wey dey miss road, climbed, membrane was ruptured, and waited for d contraction to come, it actually disappeared, had to speak the word, it came. After two pushes wey scatter my brain, my oyinbo boy appeared by to 11, weighing 3.8kg, no single cut or even tear. Placenta came out 5mins later. The main shouting now started when d nurse started cleaning the blood from the warehouse. In all, it ended it praise. I thank God, all the pains have gone.

my teammie, depends on your location ooo, and or. If you are mobile and wouldn't mind the traffic and stress, the 1st I will suggest is federal medical centre jabi ( haven't been there before, but friends and neighbor's who have used the place recommended it for me, but cos of distance, I didn't go. 2nd I will suggest garki( but it's no longer a govt hospt, but their services are very okay, but quite expensive ooooo, Vjay delivery is 40k and 60k if it's a consultant that is taken ur delivery) 3rd I will suggest asokoro ( but your 1st visit u go dey patient small, it's gyna that attends to anc women, they have plenty experienced staff,) and lastly maitama, ( don't know much about them, but have been there when I took my mum for treatment and I liked the way they were attending to women that came for antenatal) wuse gen hospt I went there for my 1st baby, d crowd alone is something else, don't know of now) nyanya gen hospt it's a no go area, if u reg at 3 months, ur nxt appointment might be when u r 8mnths gone, most times, no bed space for patients, the place is always like a mkt place.

To my fellow pregnant mamas, i will advice us to start/finish our shopping as soon as we can o, this one fuel is now to be sold @145naira. God will provide for us all as things are still moderately affordable for now.

I wish i saw the priced list @zimunachimdi shared but it has been removed cos i can say things are quite ok in Abuja too. @rejoice03, I got my stuffs with little or no difference with Lagos price.....got from friends that have baby shop tho, one is at kubwa, the other at Lugbe. But if you can find your way to Suleja, i will advice you go instead of sending someone to Lagos. Dont try markets like Wuse, things are quite costly there but i tink you can also try Utako, heard Garki int market is ok too.

Wow. My mum mustered up the courage to walk out some years back after the violence was getting too much. We get beaten and embarrassed at the slightest issue and if she complains, she also receives her own beating.
When she moved out, we followed her. We preferred to be with her in her one room self contain than in my dad's duplex. After a year, he came back to his senses and begged. Tho he still hasn't changed most of his nasty habits but the violence has stopped when he realized everyone can abandon him.
Your life is important. If anything happens to you, we can't imagine what will be the fate of your LO. So be strong and stick to whatever reasonable decision uve decided to make. Leaving doesn't mean you are weak. It means you're strong. Above all, never relent in prayers. Jehovah is the institutor of marriage and he alone can guide your path. E hugs!
