Hmm mm, as much as I love to criticise this administration because of their deceitful campaign and manifestos, sometimes, I wonder if the student's union body (NANS) and other pressure groups are really following the economical trend in this country. This development is long overdue and it is unfortunate that I was part of the group/body/union that opposite the removal of subsidy in 2012 but now I'm seeing clearly. It is quite unfortunate that this government does not believe in the "stick & carrot" approach but rather making difficult and harsh decisions at the same time. Please for once let us see how this will turns and allow the total removal of fuel subsidy. #Nigeria will definitely be great but our sacrifice is paramount. May I say aluta continue....

to those who can not compare and contrast facts. Why not juxtapose indexes of 4 years ago to today? Are you buying all other commoditties the prices of 2012 in 2016? Would you rather spend the whole of our $27b reserve on subsidy to some cabal who will still sell fuel at N150/l all in the name of being politically correct?
What you just said gives credence to my point. This was the same thing GEJ tried to do and he was criticised by d APC. With d APC in power, they can clearly see that it was the way to go. So with the aid of hindsight, I can infer Gej was right and the opposition was wrong.

The emphasis here is 'look'. Last year, the general feeling was anybody but Jonathan. I heard people say, "surely it couldn't be worse than this." However, the events of the last 12 months have made a lot of people reminisce on the GEJ era with feelings of nostalgia. They are beginning to think maybe he wasn't that bad.

As I write, I don't know of any campaign promise that has been kept. It's been denials and more denials. They were same ones that claimed that with the falling oil prices, PMS should be cheaper. We voted in Buhari to get positive change. Yet, the people are not even complaining that the country is not better but that he's made it worse than he met it. The longer it goes on the more it makes Gej look like a saint.

They promised us 45 per litre but wat we are getting is 145 per litre.

Useless government.

Hehehehehe! Zombies will ask you, "what is the difference between the #145 and the #45"? They will further tell you to remove the 1 in the #145 and you have the price promised by APC... cheesy grin

I only pity the tribalistic bigots that supports this useless administration against all odds, even to the point that they support any form of massacre perpetrated by the military against innocent civilians.

When the time comes, we will all reap the evil seeds these APC demons and their supporting zombies sowed together.

Standards of living will take a huge dive in the days to come, with petroleum motor spirit PMS to sell for #145, I will just tag along.
Transportation cost: Increase
Food stuff price: Increase
Barbing cost: Increase
Monthly expenses: Increase (if not doubled)
Wages (Salary): Remain the same (if not cut self)
Gross monthly take home: minus certain percentage of monthly income.
Well "nothing comes out of comfort zone"; I pray we have to experience this in preparation for a better future.

Yes o! I voted for this CHANGE, and I would still vote for this same Change if the options were either this or GEJ. It matters not if it is 3 years from now, given a choice between GEJ and PMB, I will vote PMB all over again.

Now to the fuel price, during the scarcity, everyone kept saying "Just make the fuel available even if it is at a higher price!", now all over Nairaland people were writing that they buy fuel at N140, N150 and N170. Now that the price is now a range with N145 the highest price to ensure availability, people are still screaming.

BTW, the partial removal by GEJ, what happened to the money saved? ALL looted into different pockets! I am more comfortable with this administration pushing through the needed changes than those megalomaniacs in the last administration wacking all the savings.
Can u swear to whatever you believe in dt U have made any sense with dis shit coming outta ur I.Q........just point 1 single good thing this administration can be noted 4....from a nation running without ministers for over 6 months while d likes of Amaechi n Co were appointed, the inconclusive elections dt were marred with untold violence,d padded budget dt has kept d country stagnant, the skyrocketing increment in almost everything except income, sometime ago I watched d minister of Finance saying dis GOVT has been saving some good amount of money which she herself has no idea what d amount is N dt d govt will be borrowing to fund d budget N dt got me thinking "how can u saving money n be borrowing at d same time" MADNESS.... THEY HAVE BEEN CHASING CORRUPTION DT THEY SAY BUT WHO HAS BEEN CAUGHT....... Cameron may not really be wrong when he said Nigeria is fantastically..hmmmmm u all know d rest

And someone tells me that we have to move back first before we can mine forwards frankly I don care who is at the helm of affairs but I am tired of fail promises we need a system that works and not all this political charade .

If people have stolen funds the by God seize, impound, confiscate do whatever you have to get our monies back not coming on air to point fingers and wag tongues

And if you wanna fight corruption start with your government the cost of governance is too high why r government officials driving around in fancy V8 fuel guzzling SUVs about 20 in a convoy If the roads are not good enough for sedans then fix the roads do you know how much it costs to fuel that motorcade.

Please just give us good roads, power basic infrastructure I mean is that too much to ask at least after one year I sector should have been improved if the government was sincere.

The problem with Nigerians is that they easily jump into conclusion without hearing something clearly. Baba and co were saying chains and Nigerians quickly concluded that it was change he said but I heard it clearly that time. Again Baba said he would make petrol N145 per litre and Nigerians only heard the N45 just because he made the 1 in front silent. When Baba was talking last year, I heard him clearly. Just as he also said N1 will be equal to $1..., but Nigerians did not hear it clearly too. Now the dollar is heading towards the real promised exchange rate to the dollar yet Nigerians are still misinterpreting it to be N1 = $1. Thank God I heard everything clearly and know where everything is going to end. If you don't understand the things Baba promised then, please ask Lai Mohammed to explain berra to you. About fuel pump price, Naira exchange rate, N5,000 payment to ..., food security, corruption fight, being president to all Nigerians (I belong to nobod....), etc.

Believing that Buhari would make life better for the common Man is like believing that Arsenal will win the Champions League with Wenger in Charge. I will advise people to consider buying inverters to reduce the dependency on Generator sets. And also install surge protectors as well cos you can't trust them to give you stabilized electricity. These guys are disconnected from us. They are myopic and dumb.

Re: Fuel Increase: Nigerians Lament On Twitter by Ndolarr: 9:45am On May 12, 2016
This development might still be exploited by the greedy marketers! They will still smuggle the product to neighboring countries to sell at 200 naira per liter. Indeed, asking just anybody to bring in petrol is not feasible, at least in the short run!! How many of them have storage facilities and distribution outlets? By the time all logistics are added, including the black market rate of naira, the selling price will be way above 145 naira. Indeed, solution lies in brutally transparent management of the subsidy regime while modular refineries are encouraged and local refineries are made to work anyhow. The alternative is for employers of labour, including government, to increase salaries or face agitation. Indeed, the social cost of the new fuel policy far outweighs the envisaged savings to government. There is need to maintain a balance.

No need to be this better!

Seriously, some of us were too innocent to see and think outside the box in 2012. We were only made to see what they wanted us to see but i repeat "now we see clearly." We were made to see the negatives in the removal of fuel subsidy and it it so unfortunate that the same set of people working against the then government are now the same people agitating for the total removal of subsidy. One thing that is certain, Nigeria will survive this time!
