The poop colour might change due to introduction of new food, like my baby anytime she takes banana, her poo is abit black with something like worm but after goggling and inquires I learn that it is the banana. About the Temperature, don't no what might cause it but If the temperature persist after two day, pls consult ur doctor.

Any other symptoms? Discharge from his eyes, runny nose, rashes? I don't think it may be the food causing the temperature. Monitor him and if it continues, Monday go to the hospital.HTH

If the temperature is still high by tomorrow please get him to a hospital because it'll have been over 48hours! I suspect it may be teething related but we cant say except the experts have a look at him!

As per the poop I agree his system is adjusting to the new food. Please ensure he has adequate water with his meals too!

@ zaynie, i feed him every 3hours even at 9yt. He don't lyk drinking milk ordinarily, so i make sure i put enough milk in his cereals & pap. Egg & banana r no go area 4 him at all. He stopped BM at 4months, if u c were am forcing him 2 eat u'll tink dat I'm trying 2 poison him. His problem is he don't ve apitite for food. But I'll try that butter. P.S no more housegirl for now, am taking my little angel to creche. I will manage with house chores.Am emotionally about this issue especially thinking about if she had aborted and died . I really thank God.

I dont think food poisoning can cause fever, he might be teething. Also try the using wet rag to bring the temperature down between doses of pcm.
The poop may be as a result of a change in diet. As long as it isnt runny or with mucus/ blood, I dont think you should be worried.

if the multivitamin contains iron and vitamin c,yes it will affect the antimalarial action of the drug.
you can give vit bcomplex syrup instead.
moreover loss of appetite could be from the malaria (that is if it was confirmed she has malaria)
keep giving the meals gradually. She will pick up.

what's your supply like? do you produce enough breastmilk ?
does she seem satisfied after eating ? How many diapers does she poo or pee on in a day? How often do you feed her in a day ?
these questions will be a guide.
check your diet too. do you eat well ?
If your supply is ok try and increase the frequency of feeding her.

also make sure baby is latched on properly. Cos if not,baby will be sucking and getting little milk and you Will assume baby is feeding well.

5.5kg!!!!! Wow, that is BIG!!!! I did the maths though. At dt age, your baby should be 6.46kg. So, at 5.6kg, your baby's weight is 88% of expected. Perfectly normal. You need not worry and please don't be tempted to overfeed him. Already her weight is close to dt of a 3 month old so I say she is doing fine. Quick question.... Were you diabetic during pregnancy? Or are your babies always this big.

You can replace the rare/ expensive fruits with those easy to find.
Dont mix too many fruits cos you dont know which one your baby might be allergic/ intolerant of.
Make just a little, cos he might not like it at first and you cant keep it, unless you freeze it to make popsicles.
Hollandia yoghurt doesnt count as yoghurt o.

Are you sure baby is latching on well? The entire dark portion of the nipple area should be in the mouth of the baby. You can also massage with a towel and warm.water to relieve the pain.

If d fever persists despite d paracetamol, plz tk him to d hospital. Don't gv any prescription med. ie do not self medicate.

He stops breastfeeding by himself when he is 4months, he prefer drinking water than to eat. I need something that he will eat to make him gain weight please. Som1 introduce me to Friso-Gold rice and i gave him but he is not gaining weight at all. I even create my own cereal by mixing Millet,Beans,Corn,Soya bean,Groundnut and crayfish together, but don't like it. I'm desperate, i don't know what to do anymore.

Have you tried adult foods? Some children accept it more readily than cereals. Foods like mashed potatoes, amala or semo.with ewedu no stew

Fish, indomie with little or no spice etc etc..

Just try it may work.

I hear nospamin is bad for babies. Please stop it immediately.

What are your own meals like? Some babies react like this when their breatsfeeding mums take lots of lactose based foods I.e milk and so on. Atop eating beans for a while too.

Then gently massage her tummy with a heated towel and keep ensuring she burps after meals. Place her face down on your laps as often as possible I know she's too young to sleep like that in her cot.

This too shall pass!

Hello Julie, I know the feeling, been there and still managing my baby who's three months, but still has reflux, we've been to the hospital several times, we were told it happens to some babies but so long as she's gaining weight it's not something u can do much about, they outgrow it @ some point . Try breast feeding sitting and hold her up for up to 30 mins after every feed, can be tough but it does help at times. All the best.

julie2015, do as babythug said and as for the spit up my baby is 6 months now and he hardly does that any more, I introduced cereals at 4 months because of the spit up. I was also told nospamin is bad though I used it once and it didn't work, I later bought infacol for my lo. it really did magic for him, always put her on your shoulder to burp after each feed. Hot water massage also works
