FOLYKAZE:
NLC and their sister TUC should go and sit their ugly a s s down. They have long lost the little relevance they have. These lazy brats can only bark and I am very sure cannot move Buhari and Nigerians with their silly protest. They should come up with a better idea on how to deal with government rather than this not-working barbaric strike that have done nothing good to both sides since time inception.

This proposed strike will make things harder more for Nigerians. They should rather protest for increment in their salary and immediate payment of backlogs from the federal and state service since prices of goods and services move toward North since Subsidy has been removed. This would make sense and lot of people will benefit from it. It would be a win-win for the people and the Union. The small marketers will sell their good normaly and make profit to survive the harsh time. The Taxi Driver, lil gal selling pure-water, Igbo man selling electornics and the Hausa mai-tea will benefit from this option. Protest and grounding of the economy will make the poor face more with nothing to gain on the long run. NLC and TUC should wise up. Strike wont work and will not be supported by well meaning Nigerians.

Subsidy removal is not a win win for govt and the people.
The govt benefits while the people lose.

Now the govt has more money to loot.

The price of pms can never come down when cbn has monopoly of the dollar.

Anybody can import and sell rice yet the price is so high because of the dollar factor.

Our govt is aware that competition can never drive the price of pms down with subsidy removal rather the price will go higher as dollar exchange rate goes higher.

Oil marketers can't buy pms with 340 per dollar and you expect them to sell at a lower price.

They need to make profit as well.

No u are wrong with time when dangote refineries starts working, they the marketers will start to think of how to refine crude oil here.... Most people will apply vertical integration to win customers ( build a small refineries that will be sold at my filling station) dangote may even have to buy filling stations to sale his product
That's the long run, say in 3 to 7 years time

But before then we must endure

Why do u think upon the dollar increase data price is falling? ?

See bashing early Saturday morning ooo.

1. I didn't support GEJ when he removed fuel subsidy. Before u remove subsidy on a commodity like PMS which has no close substitute you have to put some things in place to shoulder the effect of removal of subsidy. Do we have a working almost perfect working rail system? Nigeria is a country where the main form of transportation is by road.

2. How much is minimum wage of an average Nigerian?

3. They said subsidy on 1 litter of PMS is around #12. Hw come when subsidy was removed PMS will be sold for 145 when d ideal maths is around #93.

I guess some ppl jst like suffering.

NLC or TUC, can you please advice were importers are going to get dollar for importation when price of Crude Oil has crash.

You never fight for a new refinery all this year's to stop the government from importing petroleum products an essential commodities for God sake.

No more free dollar from crude Oil, from Russia to Saudi Arabia are feeling the pinch now.

NLC is such a clown. Why is that it is only when there is increase in pump price they threaten to protest and go on strike. They are MAD! Is that the only thing they are supposing to be doing?

What about casualisation of Nigerian graduates by employers of labour, wrongful termination of employment and maltreatment of workers by foreigners, non availability and high price of kerosene, non payment of workers salary by state governors, jumbo salary package by lawmakers amongst others. All these they suppose to be fighting and stand against but they see them as not important. Perhaps may be there is no egunje for them doing such.

As for me, i cannot and will not be cajoled and fooled by their antics. I am wiser now.

you've made an analysis as to when dollar exchange rate goes higher but what happens when d rate goes down as d case maybe, then your analysis is baseless. competition will always drag prices down as evident in d telecommunication sector.

I can't pretend that this fuel increase doesn't bother me- it does and it does bother me a lot. I am a proponent of removal of subsidy it's just that I believe that timing is everything. Even a good thing can be bad if improperly timed. Now it's probably the worst time to have done this. I don't know about you but this year has been very tough! I speak as an employer of Labour and also an employee myself and business has been very tough ( again I don't know about you) .
I won't bore you with indicators such as job cuts across banks, FMCGs, telcos and other
manufacturing companies... At last count it's
running into 25,000 job cuts in Lagos alone! But rather I want to zoom into the plight of low earning staff who will have to pay twice the price to transport themselves to work and back, their children's feeding and transportation and ofcourse pay more as tariffs for Electricity which is virtually nonexistent- I gave one of my interns a task to do and he came back the following day and said he couldn't complete it becos they had no electricity...and I couldn't fault him- that is the
plight of many of our people ... But just as one is trying to " gird his economic loins" this bombshell of fuel price increase drops and I was just speechless... Speechless because it means our workers will have to pay more for everything as fuel in Nigeria affects everything -food, clothes, electricity ( Petrol generators) , transportation and ultimately with no corresponding increase in salaries -the very mental and physical health of our people.
I won't say pray for Nigeria, this one pass
prayer...But no doubt if the people are pushed to the wall it's only a matter of time something has to give....
The removal of the subsidy was inevitable but I just wished it was delayed until local refineries were sorted, the budget /money had circulated into the system, power generation was suitably improved so that the effects wouldn't be that harsh on our people....
I just wish.......

Since we all go against SUBSIDY REMOVAL, I think PMB should revert the budget and remove a project so as to replace and sustain the Subsidy
