You took the import of my post out of context, l didnt say God should come and build road, provide security, punish rapist, provide pipe borne water etc, my referring to prayers / religious homes was used in a literary manner and it was pun intended, l know God will not come and fix the country, l was indirectly saying that we hide under prayers but yet the country is still on auto reverse, do l believe in God , Capital YES, but do l wait for him to come and fix my building, No, again, if my roof is leaking, l do not need to start going to a shrine, voodoo priest or anywhere for prayers, l will contact the relevant professional to fix the problem and that is what l was saying in my earlier post

Rafting alone in swampy areas could suck up to and more.

For my fence alone I spent 1million for rafting and approx 900k for the fence. Then imagine what the building rafting would cost.

I'll just tell you the design that I have for my garage apartment.

The ceiling is 12 coaches high which is about 12 feet, that's pretty high. I'm not using POP so I'll loose very minimal height for the actual finished ceiling. Heat trap will not be an issue because there will be a solar powered whole house fan that vents directly into the attic. There will be two gable vents on either side of the attic wall where the hot air should naturally escape.

I'm also using casement windows that have projections at the top. These type of window will allow me to at least crack open the projected windows during inclement weather or at night. That in conjunction with the whole house fan will make sure that air is moved throughout the house.

You should go for whatever design, style that floats your boat. It's your house and you won't be asking anybody to finance it. If you get a good Architect and a builder that doesn't think he knows what you need more than you then you'll be okay.

Costwise, windows design is the same price, whole house fan is maybe $150 and gable vents can be constructed by local artisan. I talked to my local welder and he thinks he can make the whole house fan. My stuff might look expensive but they really aren't. I just have a knack to thinking outside of the box, and I take my sweet time.

I thought that 12 coaches of 9 inch blocks is 9 ft. I really admire your idea of whole house fan and attic venting. I hardly see gable vents on our newer home designs.

Finally, I'm beginning to see my chateau decision falling in right places.

You will not believe that I only need to drive for 90 mins from my Chateau to Ajah Lagos using the Epe road. The only reason it'll take that long is because of the bad and very lonely road. When I was picking the place, I already envisage that one government will definitely see the need to bridge the link between Lagos and neighbouring cities and decongest Lagos mainland for proper megacity plan but many people don't see it. I was expecting the present government in Ogun state to have align with the same vision but I think he too is doing well cos the final link road to My Chateau-Agbowa-Itokin-Epe-Ajah expressway has been approved for expansion into a 4 lane road even though they've not done it but the project board has been installed.

Now, with the ongoing 10 lane road and the whole lot of activities happening on that corridor especially on Itokin-Agbowa-Ikorodu road, I guess it's time to go back home. Cos I can easily drive 20 mins to Agbowa /Imota and fly a boat to anywhere in Lekki or drive maximum 60 mins from Sagamu to Ajah.

God bless good vision. Time to invest in the future for the great great great grandkids!!

Thanks for your quick response!! My mum got a place there and I was saying its kinda far from almost everything we are used to. But she is saying it's gonna get better as the years goes by. Hopefully it's so. Been reading the news about upcoming Mile 12 and the Omo baba saw mill relocation.
