Do introverts like horror movies?

The above question has been nagging at me for an answer for quite some time.

When I was a kid, I discovered that I love watching horror movies as against sitting in a crowded room and laughing together with folks at one hilarious show. I don't know, I simply do not like comedies that much, worse still, I force myself to see them and fake smiles, but I easily get bored while buried in a comic play. They just don't tick my fancy.

And as I grew up, my love for the horror genre definitely increased. I made sure I buy the scariest newly released movies, real baddas ones involving blood, violence and emotional shattering. You really need to witness my mood whenever a horror film is on. I grin from ear to ear like a kid who was bought her favourite candy. I laugh maniacally whenever a fearful scene comes up and as the terrified victims shiver & wail in sudden panic, I beam a wide smile and my middle gives off a twisting, sweet sensation. If one could be said to having a few happy periods in the brief transit from childhood to adulthood, those moments made aisha's list.

So it seems my dad noticed my strange behaviour, so one day he approached me and asked why I like gory movies instead of normal ones, the ones that were to him, anyway. I said that was my preference and no-one or me can try to alter it. Even mom called me a little witch on several occasions all in a bid to see if I would turn a new leaf.


Nairalanders, am I okay? Or I just happen to have a messed up brain/Craving?

All other movies entertain killing so why should it be different with horror movies?

I don't think so. Death is death]. It does not depend whether you are shot with a gun or impaled with a spear or stabbed with a bayonet, or even splintered to bits on a jigsaw machine. So long as you are dead and your heart is not pumping blood to all other parts of your body, is all that matters. I presume your idea of a "good death" is when someone's death is accompanied with insignificant pain and he leaves a freshly beautiful corpse behind?

I have reasons to believe. that I'm normal although I'm slight different from others

A lot of devotion to horror movies make you to be on the alert, you tend to err more on the side of caution even though the situation doesn't necessarily require it. But you can't be too sure. . .

I love animal shows too but Vampires and werewolves and fangs and claws and paranormal events, interests me more.
