same with the Northerners.
Vast land without agricultural activities. all they wait for is government money. even their leaders are in search of crude oil, free money!!!

I disagree with you. My knowledge of the North is absolute. Their problem isn't laziness at all but illiteracy and religion. I've seen a meruwa get like 6gallons of water from a well almost 300meters deep. They can persevere for real. But their outlook on life is lack of ambition based on religious beliefs. The educated among them also like to feel cool without doing much. Hausa people are good farmers

GOVERNOR Timipre Sylva of Bayelsa State has expressed
dismay over the practice of selling employment slots to
non-indigenes by youths of the state at give-away prices.
At an interactive session with the Bayelsa State Elders
Consultative Forum, the governor lamented the
development, saying "it is saddening to note that indigenes
of the state are selling their employment slots in reputable
companies at give-away prices of between N20,000 and
N70,000."
The governor, who gave a graphic description of the
thinking of an average Bayelsan, noted with sadness that
they wanted everything free, bearing in mind that the state
remains the only state throughout the federation where the
electricity is generated free.
His words, "An average Bayelsan has also believed
erroneously that we have money and that is why they want
everything for free. In the education sector we pay nothing.
The craze now is that everybody wants their children to be
sent abroad by the government for free. In the health sector
we pay for nothing, everybody is expected to be treated for
free.
The electricity we produce is for free. Even nobody wants to
work; they prefer handouts. "When I first came as governor,
my belief was very different.
My belief was that if you create jobs, people benefits from
those jobs. And one of the things when I came in was that I
paid all contractors that were on site. I paid N900 million
and we decided to complete all on-going projects before we
plan new ones.
"The idea was to stimulate the economy so that our people
can do small jobs. And I was happy when I paid the money
and there were many people working on the site. I went to
those sites personally because there were still a lot of
complaints on the streets on Yenagoa.
sites personally that more than 500 people working on the
sites they were all non-Bayelsans. I asked if there was any
Bayelsan, there was none and I was shocked. That was
when I know we have a problem. Because no matter how
much you tried to stimulate the economy it would fly over
the Bayelsan because our youths won't work.
"I would give you another example - the community around
Saipem protested that they were not being given jobs. We
intervened and Saipem decided to give 70 quality jobs to
boys from that community.
The community nominated people to go and work there and
I was happy that through our intervention we were able to
create the jobs [/quote letter I saw one of the boys and questioned
him why he is not at work.
"I later found out upon enquiry that he sold his space to an
Igbo man for N40, 000 a month out of the N 70,000 he is
being paid and that is what all of them did.]that's how they about killing some successful Igbo men. They sold all
their spaces to Igbo people. You would send Bayelsans for
training through oil companies; they sell their spaces to
Igbo people and those acquire the necessary skills.
They are happier to be on the streets of Yenagoa claiming
every day that there is hunger. There is no economy that
can grow like this. It is a very sad situation." Earlier, the
chairman of the forum, Chief Francis Doukpolagha had
called on the government and the elders in the state to map
out developmental programmes that would be aimed at
improving the lots of the people in the state.

Please retract that nonsense about OBJundecided.
Deadlytruth:

Jonathan was not really the best candidate the SS could offer for presidency. Obasanjo studied all the SS governors then and discovered that GEJ was the weakest, most pliable, most lacking in personal vision and self-conviction, and least self asserting; so he chose him as Yaradua's running mate for the purpose of tokenism so that it would be said he made it possible for power to come to the SS. It was the same way the Northerners studied all the southerners in 1998 and found OBJ to be the most pliable and bendable to Northern interests, most resistant to his own Yoruba agenda, the biggest Southern collaborator and lackey of the Northern Hegemony, etc and then chose him too for the tokenism that after all they were kind enough to give it to a Yoruba man whereas he was actually the worst and least likely candidate the Yorubas would offer for presidency if given the total leverage.
What Northerners did to OBJ he too did to the SS. But the difference was that Yorubas were quick to reject OBJ as a Trogan Horse gift from the North while the SS could not see and till now has still not seen that GEJ was a Trojan Horse offer to the SS by OBJ.

Governor Dickson was very correct in his assertion but it would be very wrong for commentators to narrow it down to an IJAW or RIVERS problem. It is simply put THE CURSE OF OIL. All oil producing states are afflicted with this mindset which is made worse by the thieving political class who use it as a weapon to keep a lasting hold on their people. Over the years they made their people believe that the oil situated in their land gives them a get it free ticket in life. their parents lived with that mindset and passed it on to their kids.

lets broaden the scope a bit, Nigeria as a Nation is even worse than the Ijaw or Rivers man you all are running your self righteous mouths over. We all are afflicted with the same OIL CURSE. This is a Nation thats one of the largest producers of crude and is one of the largest importers of refined crude. we have a number of refineries yet non works and every year a huge amount in USD is set aside for TAM which is more than enough to build new refineries. we import cloths furniture, fish rice even tooth pics. A country where absolutely nothing works, no security, no electricity even to count ourselves is a herculean task.

The other day we were all privileged to have a sneak peak by Cameron at what the west think about us, they actually say worse. To them
Nigeria is a paradox, how could a nation be so blessed in human and natural resources and yet so hopelessly useless. So if
you by chance are looking for a group of people that are lazy, cant see beyound their nose, deeply divided and strongly driven by ethnic sentiments, always depending on oil, Then please kindly look for the largest mirror in your room

I am not a bayelsan but i would like to say that all states of the federation are lazy. If this was not the case all states would be able to adequately generate their own internal revenue and not depend on monthly handout from the federal government. There is hardly any state that does not have one form of natural resource but they are just too lazy too develop.

What's the nonsense therein about OBJ? Was he not a lackey, Southern collaborator and stooge of the North whom the Northern Oligarchy deliberately chose to perpetrate their born-to-rule philosophy? Did they really choose him back then in the interest of Nigerians or for the belief that he was their old reliable friend who was surer to return power to them just like he returned power to Shagari after it got to him through Murtala's demise? Did OBJ spare any fair attention for the genuine agenda of his own Yoruba brothers? Was it not the North and himself he tried to please all through his tenure? How many roads did he construct in the SW? Did he investigate the political assassinations of his time despite 80% of the victims were his own Yoruba brothers?
OBJ is the biggest problem Nigeria ever had. I keep wondering how he still has fans among even Yorubas. It beats me silly.

Actually all people's of Nigeria were initially hardworking and thereby generating their own revenue from resources domiciled in the regions while we practised true federalism and resource control whereby each region retained 75% of the revenue generated from its domain and remitted only 25% to the centre. The 75% revenue retention was a big incentive that inspired hardwork as no region was constitutionally permitted to enjoy another region's resources. It was the coming of the military in 1966 led by Aguyi Ironsi that changed all that and replaced it with unitary system which inspires laziness, looting, stealing, dependence on federal allocation, etc. It is abnormal for people to really work hard in an environment where they know that the revenues they'll generate from that hard work will all be remitted to the centre for everyone to share equally. That was how Ironsi ruined this country and veered it off the path of hardwork and disciplined citizenry.

This is what I was explaining to a friend yesterday, The only problem with Hausa is lack of education, especially the Hausa Muslims.
I had an encounter with an Hausa christian who called the name of his tribe MAGUZAWA at Malumfashi in Katsina state,
This man is the principal of the federal government girls college Bakori, he is a masters degree holder, he made me understood that Christianity was the saving grace of his people whom he said were highly educated.
He also made me understand that the Fulani Jihadist were the ones who destroyed the Hausas , he said if I could interact with Hausa people I will discover that the only thing keeping them down is ignorance which Fulani had used Islam to built into their lives.
This man said his own fore fathers fought bitter wars with the Fulanis and refused to accept Islam because Fulani used force to introduce this religion to them and so they continue to practice their traditional religion until the Christian missionaries came and begins to persuade and entice them with good things.
He said this act of kindness by the missionary was what change the lives of the Maguzawa people, these people are the most educated people in Katsina state.

Bayelsans are notoriously lazy, they too like awoof this is common knowledge.

What I find strange is that it took the governor this long to know this fact. i have a bayelsan tenant in my yard, he doesn't work , he wont pay his bills he feels he is entitled to the whole world.

The only time he works is when he wants to impregnant his wife, and to utter useless prayers.

he so good at it that in 9 months he has 9 children already.

I think most people are genetically lazy, they use their muscles to ferment trouble and destroy their precious habitat.

Kudos to their women sha, dem they re industrious, if not for them things would have gone really bad in the area.

Wearing english hats ,drinking sapele water and wearing overflowing robes is doesn't remove laziness from a man. cool

I can see that you find it difficult to read between the lines. I said Northerners gave him power because they (Northerners) believed he would dance to their tune and haunt his own Yorubas. He might not have wholly danced to Northerners' tune, but he definitely did not give a damn about the pan-Yoruba interest of SNC as he too conducted a sham which he called a confab and which the most notable Yorubas ignored cos it carried no genuine regard for the SNC and restructuring which Yorubas had always demanded from Abacha days. Was his resistance to restructuring not in the interest of the North? Or you think Northerners love the idea of restructuring? Did OBJ not in the end give power back to the North through Yaradua after making Igbos believe that he would hand over to them? Do I need to give you a full semester lesson?

I don't care about why they voted for him however the man never danced to anyone's tune but the Niget Delta. He did not give a damn about anyone. SNC's interests is not synonymous to Nigeria's interest or his opinion.

He gave power to the north because that was the agreement. And OBJ dealt with them with Yaradua.

Can we please stop talking about this?

But if the truth must be said, Niger Delta youths are damn to lazy, it is the effects of our oyel. They have caught up with the Dutch disease, a peculiar disease like Stephen Johnson. Give them scholarship, they will sell them, give them admission they will be the highest cultist and capone in school. They have motherlands in various cults, PH is Vikings motherland, benin city is aiye or birds motherland. I don’t want to talk about DEY WELL, DEY GBAM, ICELANDERS, GREENLANDERS OR whatever idiotic nomenclature they might ascribe to themselves.
I lived in warri, okere road for that matter near post office, come and see how these niger delta guys loaf around. They burst pipelines and use the money for women and booze. Their women...oh luscious and wayward, that is the key word. This isn’t a smear campaign but that is a fact. 90% of them are loafers and layer about. From Effurun to Patani to D Line then to diobu and creeks. The only few ones that have semblance of sanity are the anioma ones and the calabar uyo axis.
Have you ever wondered why political thuggery is so high in that region, even their fathers mostly are lazy especially the Ijaws. I am so sorry about this but the truth must be told. Oh what about their sexy black ladies...ask benin girl what she wants to be in future... she will say I WANT TO GO TO ITALY! These are facts!
They drink local kiakai as if na water...no wonder it is called sapele water next thing is to do omila( for those that know what that means) what about the benin boys that harass people via benin by pass. Well, niger delta youths are nothing I mean absolutely nothing to write about. 90% are lazy.

Take this or leave it, i have said the fact from what i have seen .
Don’t tackle me because you will buckle up or bottle up

what did lazy ijaw and ikwerre do with abandoned property? to show you how lazy their fathers was
