Chapter 12
The exams had already started in unilag. Tope had just 4 exams to go. He was reading at home, but he could not concentrate. His past events in Blossom's car kept creeping into his mind. After she kissed him, she started apologizing while he just stared akwardly, he couldn't even remember how they parted that day, it was so embarrassing for him. Since then, they had been avoiding each other. He was not ready to see her but it can't remain like that forever. He had to do something about it but it will be after the exams. He focused on his books and started reading....

The room was chilly. Four people were seated around an expensive dining table filled with a lot of foreign and delicious meals. A man and his wife and two children, a boy and a girl. Where is Blossom? The man asked the boy. Honey, she should be upstairs in her room, She said she has eaten' his wife answered. 'was I talking to you?' 'how many times would I tell you to shut up when I did not talk to you? The man asked the woman.. 'I am sorry, I thought you...' kpaaai' she was cut short by a slap from the man. ' If you ever interrupt me again, you will receive more than that slap. The tension on the table doubled, the woman was sobbing quietly, the children quickly ate their food and left to their respective rooms.

Blossom's younger brother Damian entered her room. ' Why didn't you come for supper, Dad asked of you and it led to another fight between dad and mum' Damian said... ' Dammy, must they fight everyday?' Blossom asked 'why not ask dad, since you are his favorite child' Damian said and went out of the room as he could hear his dad calling him and he didn't want trouble. Blossom sighed... She was tired of hearing about her parent's fight. Her father was an aggresive dictator. She remembered when she was young, he would take her to his room and whip her with a horsewhip if she disobeyed him. Exams were over and the only thing on her mind was to see Tope. He has been avoiding her ever since she kissed him and she has also been avoiding him, she knew she should not have done it but she could not resist his pink lips. 'Blossom you have a visitor' she heard her brother's voice, shouting from the sitting room. She checked her phone and the time was 7.45pm 'who would be visiting me by this time of the day? She thought. She went outside the mansion and standing there was the guy she has been avoiding for some time now....

Your story is awesome but lacks more than a little creativity. I almost know what will happen next and it really looks like nollywood movie script. No pun intended Sir but a little suspicion will get your readers sitting on the edge anticipating your updates. And the wealth and affluence are a little bit exaggerated making it not so interesting for me ooo I don't know about others. In essence of this long sermon of mine, make your audience glued here and a little twisting of what we think will happen next. But in all, you are a fine writer and if you continue, may end up one of the finest Nairaland writers....thanks.

Chapter 13
Blossom went outside and standing there was Pablo, her ex-boyfriend . 'Pablo!' she screamed in suprise. Pablo just smiled and beckoned on her to come and meet him. She went closer and that was when she noticed the red ferrari that he was leaning on. 'When did you arrive' she asked him, 'Is that the way to greet your boyfriend?' Pablo asked.
. Pablo was Blossom's ex-boyfriend. His real names were Pascal Onuora but he merged his name and Blossom's together, PAscal and BLOssom to make Pablo. His family were billonaires in Nigeria and they were friends with Blossom's family. He was 19 years of .age. Physically, Pablo was handsome, tall and well-built. Unlike Tope, Pablo was dark in complexion which gave Tope an edge over him. He and Blossom both agreed to see each other the next day.

Blossom sat at the front of her large mirrior painting her face, she stopped, 'why am I even making up, after all he is my ex' she thought. She checked herself to make sure she was ok. She then took a taxi to a popular resturant at V.I. While in the taxi, she surfed the net and stumbled upon a short story on nairaland about fuel scarcity and a missing preek, the story was just to good she had to commend the writer cityofdavid.

She entered and sighted Pablo's table. He stood up immediately he saw her coming, he then performed all his gentleman gestures. They both ordered for food and a red wine which they consumed in few minutes.
Pablo: You are looking exceptionally beautiful Blossom. I missed you
Blossom: You have not still changed from your flattering ways
Pablo: Baby, if you could take a peek inside my heart, you would know that my words are true, I missed you my Baby
Blossom: who is your baby, look, let us not pretend like nothing happened. You cheated on me with my friend, then abadoned me here and now you are coming back acting like we are still dating.
Pablo: Blossom (he tries to hold her hands but she pulls it away from him), I know that I have wronged you, I know that I did some stupid shiit, but if you could just give me one more chance to correct my wrongs I would
Blossom: (cuts him short) what did I ever do to you Pablo. I loved you deep (tears start dropping out of her eyes), you were my first love. I gave you my all but how did you choose to repay me? By cheating on me and abadoning me!
Pablo: Blossom, If I could change the past I would but now the past is past, I'm sorry for everything I put you through, I am not asking you to date me again, all I want is for you to be my friend again, let things be peaceful and friendly between us
Blossom: owk, I guess that can work, Im sorry I have to start going, I have something to do. (she stands up and picks her bag)
Pablo: did you bring your car?
Blossom: no
Pablo: I brought my black ferrari, let me take you home, at least friends help friends out.
Blossom: hmm I can find my way but if you insist no probz.
Pablo dropped her at her house and went his own way. She had a quick shower and slept off.

Chapter 14
Tope was seated at the exact spot Vicky his ex dumped him. He was listening to a song by kelly rowland titled 'when love takes over'. That was the exact mood he was, The love for Blossom has taken over in his life but he knew it couldn't work out. Exams had finished so he was free and Blossom had asked to see him. He had waited for her for almost twenty minutes. He was just about to stand up when he sighted her coming from afar. His heart started beating fast, 'guy relax yourself,' he told himself. She got to where he was, she smiled and hugged him tightly.
Blossom: So I am hugging you and you cant hug me back
Tope: I'm not a fan of pda
Blossom: mtcheew, keep forming preacher's son o
Tope: i'm not forming, this place just makes me remember some sad things that happened to meBlossom: things like what, Your girlfriend dumping you?
Tope: yes
Blossom: funny boy, you are so skilled at lying

Blossom: (tears forming in her eyes) you are not different from your girlfriend, so because your girlfriend dumped you on this exact spot, you also want to break my heart, well done Babatope. (she stands up, wipes her tears and walks away leaving Tope dumbfounded.

Chapter 15
Blossom was sad. How could she be rejected by a guy she liked so much. Was it her fault that she had money or that her parents were wealthy? She thought. She remembered how she cried herself to sleep that night promising herself to forget about him. It worked for the first few hours of the next day but after sometime she started thinking about him again.

Later in the evening her two friends came to visit her and keep her company. "I cant still believe that he told you no" Vera said after Blossom explained everything to them. "That poor fool, why are you still thinking about him? When you have Pablo all to yourself". "Vera, not everyone would be like you, you should learn to respect people's decisions" the third girl spoke up. "He may have his reasons for not wanting to be with Blossom, do you know how bad it is for a girl to be the breadwinner? "I have an uncle who was also in the same situation and now he is always trying to live up to expectations, borrowing this and that everytime. Please let the poor boy be". The quiet girl said. "Ify, that is why I like you, you are so quiet but when you talk, you talk sense, not like some girls I know (Blossom looks at Vera). "It is me you are yabbing abi? No P na, we go see. There is one new club at the island that I've been wanting us to check out, we can go tonight' Vera said. "Hope it has a nice cachet? Ify asked. "I no know wetin be cachet, but I sha know say the club na confirm club. Vera said. "So what do you say Blossom? Are you in or out? "Just give me time let me get ready and also make sure my siblings are asleep". Blossom said and went out of the room.
After a while they all entered Blossom's range rover and drove to the club.

Tope was nervous. He could feel his hands and legs shaking. This was the first time that he would be performing to a large crowd that was not his church members. He had heard that a new club opened at the Island so he did not waste time in going to meet the owner begging for a chance to be a regular performer in the club. After much pleading and auditions, he was accepted but he was going to be tested today. The crowd in the club were not less than 160 people. The song he was going to sing was Mama by kiss daniel, though he has rehearsed it with the club band like a million times, he was still afraid that something might go wrong.

"Ok, ok, ok, we have a new act in the building" the Mc's voice boomed from the speakers. "give it up for "T-Strings". The crowd cheered. Tope walked to the stage checking everything, making sure that it was in place, drums> check, background singers> check, keyboardist> check, bass gui...., wait, he closed his eyes and opened it wanting to be sure he was seeing well, sitting at the front area was Blossom, Vera and one girl he didn't know. "Why where they here? He tried to read Blossoms expression but she avoided his eyes. Anyways, he has to continue, the show must go on. He introduced himself and was about to start when he heard a loud sound "gbooaa". He turned and saw smoke coming out of the speakers, the sound engineers were running here and there, the crowd were streching their necks to catch a better glimpse of what was going on. "chai, what is this now" he though as his heart started beating fast, one of the sound engineer's ran to him and told him " Guy our speakers don burn o, na only one still dey work o, and e no fit carry any instrument o, you gats improvise'' he said and went back. Tope looked at the crowd and saw that few of them were feeling bored and most of them were frowning and that was when he knew that he was finished...

Im so sorry guys, I was having issues with my phone, but it has all been rectified, so im gonna be updating frequently for real real this time. Meanwhile, what are your thoughts, corrections about the story, what do you think will happen in the next chapter.

"Why did the speakers have to burn, now of all times? What kind of Juju are my village people using? Tope thought to himself. Some people started complaining, while some group of guys were shouting, telling him to leave the stage. 'o boy, gerrara dere' 'oloshi, leave that place' 'see as the mumu stand' Tope was confused, he looked at Blossom and saw her face filled with sincere concern and love, her chocolate skin glowing under the dim light. He was still thinking of what to do when he saw a bottle of wine swish past him, it missed him by an inch. The wine scattered on the floor. The crowd began to get violent. Tope ran to the back. He had to do something quick. 'Bros, that one speaker fit carry microphone abi' Tope asked. 'yes o, but na only one mic sha'. The sound engineer answered him. Tope had an idea, he was going to change things. 'shey una get combo, I wan play my guitar' Tope asked 'erm, yes, we get o, but shey u fit play? No go Bleep up o' 'bros we still dey learn o' Tope answered and went back to the crowd. He took his lead guitar and plugged it into the combo, he tested the only working mic and saw that it was good. The noise subsided and the crowd looked at him with anxiety. 'everyone listen, due to the situation of things, I'm gonna be changing things. I will give a solo performance, just me and my guitar' everywhere became so silent that you could hear a pin drop. 'fey days ago, I rejected someone from my life due to insecurities but now I've come to realise that love conquers all, so I'm gonna be dedicating this song to the girl I truly love, Blossom this is for you'. The girls in the club started screaming, Blossom could feel the blood in her cheeks getting hot, she was blushing. Tope played his guitar intro and started singing 'there's a fire' by Bez.

Tope continued, he sang the second verse also, by the time he reached the chorus, all the girls and guys were on their feet clapping for him, then he finished it with a guitar solo. The crowd cheered him. Blossom just sat on her chair while Ify and Vera were screaming, she could not describe how she felt, she didn't even know when she stood up, ran to the stage and kissed Tope, it was a deep kiss, the cheering of the crowd grew louder. Tope bowed to the audience, he then held Blossom's hand and walked proudly to see the owner of the club. 'you passed your test, you are employed' the club owner said. 'what test' Tope asked 'you didn't think that all our speakers would just suddenly stop working, it was all planned, we wanted to know how good you are even in emergency situations and you still passed, guy na u be the baddest, the engineer told him. Tope just smiled and squeezed blossom's hands. A strange man came into their midst, well dressed with a british accent, he introduced himself as Mr Lenrie. He gave Tope his card and asked him to call him for some music business issues. Tope kept the card and he excused himself from their midst, different people were just coming to meet him, hailing him. 'o boy, you try o, I feel you die' one slim guy said. A girl came, hugged him and put a paper in his hand which contained her number and the words call me. Tope threw the paper away and drew Blossom closer to himself incase other girls wanted to try. 'guy you do well, I just dey wait make you no sing well, I for scatter your head with bottle as the one wey I throw before no touch you, a mean looking guy told him. Tope noticed he was drunk and probably high on weed. They shook hands akwardly and he left with Blossom. Blossom looked around for Vera and Ify but they were no where to be found. 'they must have gone, she thought. Blossom and Tope went into her car. Tope drove, going nowhere in particular and Blossom slept on his shoulders thinking of how the next days will be.
