Ekiti paparapo, God in His infinite mercies will direct your steps aright. My able hunters, i beg, you people should not drink not to of getting drunk. You are going out there to hack down the terrorist fulani(libyan) herdsmen hackers. Other state governors, (aside benue, ortom, who wants to play house boy at the expense of the life of benue people) what are you all waiting for? |

logica: There is great difference between dane gun and ak47 and automatic rifles. And there is a greater difference when govt equips them and tells them its ok to kill other human beings! |

You don't understand the language the Fulanis speak. It is violence and only violence can can stop them. Fulanis are not people that go around in groups so if you see a group of Fulanis roaming in the bush I can bet you they have bad intention. The hunters should be given the full permission to subject herdsmen to thorough searches. They should have the powers to enter garkis and conduct searches for weapons. A Fulani man cannot be above the laws in Ekiti state. If the president decides to fold his arms and keep quiet while people are being killed, the people will defend themselves. blackpanda: 1 Like |

blackpanda:What is this man talking about? Were the hunters provided with AK-47 rifles? It seems fear cannot allow you to think straight or you are just a rabble-rouser. And if you mean the hunters cannot handle the AK-47 wielding "Libyan" herdsmen because they own Dane guns, ask somebody about The Agbekoya vs Nigerian Army for schooling. |

Nature8: Exactly. What Fayese is doing is right. Let his hunters protect their people from this brainless herdsmen who see nothing wrong in killing people over their property. You come to someone's farmland and destroy it and when they ask you why, you kill them. This must stop. People should be able to protect themselves from this evil herdsmen. 1 Like 1 Share |

This is d time for states govt. in Southern Nigeria to start forming and equiping vetted vigilante groups to serve as auxiliary police force for d interest of their own pple instead of making a foolish investments like dat of Lagos state gov. who bought equipment for dis Fulani Govt. (FG) of Nigeria. |

blackpanda: man wise up, dont get it twisted! u can never compare south west to those regions in the north, an average people over there are potentially violent and abets violence, due to many factors including... Multiple ethnic group, religious differences, professional differences(farming, cattle rearing) etc. People down here in the west are peace loving and always their brothers' keeper, they secure each other and even without the supervision of the government on handling of those donated weapons, they will coordinate themselves well and will never use it against anyone else, remember in Ekiti, there is only one ethnic group, people are so united in that state. The Governor is really smart on this one..... I only feel for those ilorin cattle rearers, but with the availability of cattle ranch, they should be ok. 2 Likes |

blackpanda: I even see this as a welcome development that could lead to the disintegration of Nigeria. It makes me remember what I read about the Ekiti parapo war.Don't worry about the slaughtering thing,if 10 Yorubas are killed 100 hausa/fulanis will be slaughtered.A word is enough... |

logica: Your comment is neither here nor there. I dont get u. But with regards to the weapns, when u give a hunter millions and tell him he is free to murder then u have handed something worse than Ak47. Dont be surprised to be at the short end of their gun one day. This has happened over and over againm..in jos, with opc, with bakassi...eventually the hunters will turn against citizens and become lords unto themselves. thenthose of u supporting will start begging fg to come to ur aid. |

blackpanda:I don't think you are Yoruba so you will not understand. From days of old, hunters in Yoruba land were also the Special Forces Police and Army rolled in one. They know their duty and don't mess around. If you read the article well, you will see that Fayose commissioned them to attack only those who attacked the community; and not to go around attacking every random Fulani they see. The instruction is quite clear enough. Once again, go read about Agbekoya before you respond to me any further. Our hunters can NEVER become despots despite possessing guns because they are gentlemen; otherwise you would have been hearing of many cases of hunters committing armed robbery before now. 4 Likes |

This is the best response so far by any governor in states afflicted by these lawless and murderous herdsmen. And by the way this blackpanda guy lacks understanding. It is very lawful of you under divine or secular laws to defend yourself or loved ones by any means necessary from harm. A man comes to your house with AK47 to steal, kill and rape; and you have the capacity to defend yourself, but you refuse to do so. Then you are worse than a dummy! The Nigerian police can never secure nigeria as presently constituted. State police and community vigilante is a must!!! Kudos to Gov Fayose. This time he is on point!!!!!!!!!!!! |

ndcide: Wherever they come from is not the point. The point is that it is the PRIMARY duty of the state government to ensure security in their state and constituency. |
