It's just tiring when both country-fellows attack each other at the slightest mention of their names on any thread. You'll start seeing hungry haters from both countries ready to demean each other.

Let's stop these shameful acts abeg. We already know we are patriotic to our various home countries, when you die God won't ask you which country you came from. Death is not a citizen of any country, so we that are alive should swallow the hate and commend love to everyone regardless of our nationalities. angry

And if you know you're crushing on anyone be it South African or Nigerian, make it known before someone grabs your future bae grin

That shouldn't stop you from furthering your education there now, e-fight isn't physical thing. It's just a misunderstanding that needs to be settled amicably.

It's NOT about that. We usually don't comment on most threads until some of your country men start throwing the insults. You have the biggest economy, how is that of any benefit to a South African for that to even make us wanna argue about? It's not like we're sharing it undecided

Let me tell you a little secret about South Africans. Not sure if every country reacts the same way in the same situation, but I can only speak about the things that provoke a violent reaction in South Africans. For an example, let's say you're having a disagreement with someone here in SA, never ever use your nationality as a threat eg. by saying something like, "You don't know me, I'm Nigerian, I hail from Lagos". For some reason, saying things like that irritates people here & will earn you a beatdown from somebody.

Just recently, they were shooting a scene for a TV show downtown Jo'burg. It's one of those competition shows where people get voted out at the end of each episode. It was a show about acting & the contestants were from parts of Africa, including SA. So anyway, the actors had to act out a scene & pretend to be arguing in public. People around were not aware it was all acting. Mind you, this was shot on a busy street with people everywhere. Usually nobody pays attention to other people arguing. It's like, "whatever". But this time the guy, an amateur Kenyan actor, made the mistake of saying, "I'm Kenyan! We don't give a fùck" & a lot of other unnecessary things. Guess what? This earned him a brick over the head, live on TV! This was not done by the crowd, mind you, but by one person who got irritated by what he said. So yeah, you get the good & the bad, you just have to mind what you say sometimes because not all of us are nice. They'll fight you at a drop
of a hat if they think you're being disrespectful or provocative.

I love South Africans, they are beautiful especially the ladies there. The problem I have is that after the last round of xenophobic attacks in South Africa, all my South African Facebook stopped chatting with me. I complained to them but they just kept mute despite the fact I never insulted any of them.

I am a Nigerian and I can tell you that nigerians are too sensitive when it comes to their nationhood they may argue and throw tantrums at each other back at home but just don't fycking get involved as a foreigner cos they will abandone the squabbling and face you squarely, few south Africans I have met here only defends their country when it's obvious their name is being soiled, nigerians get bad mouth die you can't stand us in verbal insults cos you will go home feeling as the underdog no matter where you are from, nigerians can insult you for being successful and you will have a rethink why you became successful grin

I'm not trying to start anything, I'm just creating a platform where both parties could just agree together, that's all.

That's exactly what I'm trying to pass across, sometimes it's good to be passive and reserved about some things, let our actions speak for us than much ranting, it's making us look less accommodating to others embarassed

I believe they say there's a thread about that on the travel section. I wouldn't know much about that because I don't live in the areas you mentioned & every city is different.

Mduza, what's that thread called?

The problems is with Nigerians themselves. Whenever the name " South África" is mentioned people start throwing stones for no reason. The thread could be about anything but watch once the name " South África" is mentioned , people rush HIV this HIV that. South Africans never really compare themselves with Nigerians but Nigerians are forever comparing themselves to. South Africans. I remember when Nigeria was declared the biggest the biggest economy, the taunts we were recieving!! There are Nigerians here on this site who are forever on south África's case we all know tthem. These e- fights happen when we either try and dispel the lies or throw the insults back. The question you should be asking is what is Nigeria's problem with South Africa
