But the truth is that the constant change in price at the farm is totally unstable for now. Let us wait till next month get to the middle then I can be affirmative.

In my area big size goes for N800, small size N700 while the medium goes for N730

High level sorting will add value to you now.

Which size? Is it Jumbo or the normal big size? At a mega store ba?

Lagos is a melting point. There a a lot of farms around, secondly the competition is high so the prices are normal.
Also the neighboring states do flood the city with eggs.

Maize is almost N120 per KG. High cost of feeds has skyrocketed the price of egg. From next week one egg would be sold for N50. Birds are been sold by major farmers as we speak in order to offset their debt and cut operational costs.

This is a more cogent reason for the increase and scarcity.

I am just confused and waiting for the next line of action to take individually.

My friend who just got eggs delivered to him informed me that he bought the small size @ N750 and big size @ N800
I will wait for him to offload his last purchase before I can make another order.

EGGS ARE REALLY VERY SCARCE and expensive now...i sell medium size now for 770-800naira per crate, big size/jumbo goes for 850-950 now...
i doubt if this the right time for newbies in this business. Yes i agree with you @Blackkie, high level sorting will really help to get some profit this season.

I have to source for the commodity in Surulere for many of my clients who has been on my neck since yesterday. I was shocked at the RIDICULOUS rates at which eggs are sold today.

On the distributors side:-
Small - N700
Medium - N750
Big - N800 - N850
Jumbo - N950 - N1,050

Retailers:-
Small - N30
Medium - N35
Big - N40
Jumbo - N1,200/crate
