Eyinbo wey do pencil, na him do eraser too The babalawo wey do the broom thing for the homeowner may settle with the boys to give them an "ero" when it's time to go on operation. This is why I like levels of defense. Yeah sure hang the brooms and whatsnot, but have the Dogs, the cacophony of hausas that reside in the compound and the guns. Anyways, like my Wife says "Oluwa ni luso aguntan" 1 Like |

FastShipping:those are fake. Try to look for originals and thank Oga mufu later. I have lived in a local village at ijebu ode ( idowa, Ala, ososa) where we have our boarding school then. Anybody that says there isn't charm should go to one of those towns I mentioned. Day student from those town's have charms talk less of their father's. If not for my religion that dont welcome such i would have asked for a charm I can use to disappear with foreign currencies here A town where people sleep with their doors opened A town where they perform different rituals weekly. A town where teachers are scared to flog their students. A town where old ppl have "gbekude" that is keeping them alive despite clocking 100,110,120 year old. If any of thses ppl finally dies, we won't go to school that day cos "oro" are the once to remove his/her gbekude that's making him/her breath even when the soul is already gone. I could remember when we sneaked out of hostel to ijebu ode city to catch fun and our hostel master caught us. They call one guy In our class A-black which is close to one of my friend we sneaked out together. This guy took just #170 from us then and told us our hostel master will never remember he saw us and so was it. Don't try to steal o, it will take them just few minute to bring out the culprit. They happily do their festival in any season they like cos they have the power to hold rain as long as possible. (No be say them tell me, na my kororo eyes I use see am.) I am not just a voodoo guy and that was why I avoid them cos they have all this big account full with charms ingredient they inherited from their father's for different purpose. Even in lagos, a"bad" street pal of mine then told me how they stole money in a Compound with security and dogs at night. They went to saki town to BRIng the concoctions they trew inside the compound that made them sleep till they left. SAKI is one of the leading juju state in Nigeria. You can ask. In conclusion, charm dey if you want. Not all these fake babalawo wey full city 3 Likes |

**sneaks into thread** **drops this** https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleeping_gas "Bolivian rapes[edit] In a Mennonite community in Bolivia, eight men were convicted of raping 130 women in Manitoba Colony over a four-year period from 2005 to 2009, by spraying "a chemical used to anesthetize cows" through the victims' open bedroom windows . The perpetrators would then wait for the women to be incapacitated, whereupon they entered the residences to commit the crimes. Later, the women would awaken to a pounding headache, find blood, semen or dirt on their sheets, and would sometimes discover their extremities had also been bound. Most did not remember the attacks, although a few had vague, fleeting memories of men on top of them. Several men and boys were also suspected of having been raped. While additional actors were thought to have participated, they were never identified nor prosecuted; in fact, the rapes did not stop with the incarceration of the original eight men.[1]" **runs out of thread** PS: the thing dey but not sure about used for petty robbery. but then he naija wey I grew up in is different from naija of today. 1 Like |

EgunMogaji:i have an idea of a panic room In case of emergency in our house or fire. Though only if electricity is stable I can guarantee you of the idea. These houses comes with plan from the architect so the foundation must be done from the beginning. AllAll the rooms will have a back door that will lead to a room casted with thick concrete and surrounded with steel. The panic room will have doors that are made with bulletproof and can be opened only by any of the family members living in the house cos once its installed, all the family members will register their finger prints. Its expensive but very good for security. Once you are in, no thief or fire can reach u therr till rescue come. But where is the electricity to power such in nigeria |

diordaves: I agree completely! Mod to the plan: The guest bed is now turned into children living/bedroom and only accessible from the "L-shaped" lobby. Take a closer look at this plan, all the baths do not have protector but doors that can be locked from the WIC. Any access through the bath window which are lockable from inside ends inside the bath/toilet unless someone left the door opened. Should there be fire in any of the room, the smoke alarm will alert the other occupants to move to a safe spot at the lobby. If fire starts from the lobby, the alarm at the entry point of all rooms will alert each occupant to escape through their bathroom window. If there's fire in the kitchen, the occupants of the rooms will be safe cos it'll take about 4 - 5 hours of heavy fire before it can spread to any of the rooms. If there's an attempt to break-in from the lobby, there's an access to a safe room from the lobby for all the occupants. As per using "juju" to prevent unauthorized entry, I no fit talk o but I agree completely with agarawu23 on Ososa people. * The whole room are completely off-grid and runs on DC-AC power. Possibility of surge is 100% eliminated.

This product/company is really unique. They offer discounts with our hydro companies in Ontario if we purchase thier thermostats. The included technoloy of communicating with the smoke detector via an app is quite innovative. But I really don't want to spend up to $1000 on smoke detectors for my house. Maybe I can get away with buying a 2-3 and see how it goes. It's a great investment nonetheless. Thanks for sharing EgunMogaji: |

Memejem: You're welcome. I really like supporting companies like this that puts out innovative product. You can sometimes find deals on Groupon, Amazon or eBay but might be previous generation products. Depending on how the bedrooms are clustered you might get away with a unit in a central area in the adjoining hallways, but for sure there needs to be one in or very near the kitchen. The integration of the camera is also quite beneficial, the thermostat may not work in Nigeria. |

I am working on a safe room idea where the occupants can take refuge for at least 4 hours until help reach them. A room within the house which could be planned to have a deck over it, a small battery operated fan or two on the top of the deck to ventilate the space. I am thinking of battery operated devices because attackers can cut off power supply. The idea will be a small room cast with concrete, decked and well reinforced like a safe. The door should be hidden behind another wall and entry concealed. The door should either be the traditional bullet proof or specially constructed steel plates of high gauge. The frame of the door will be cast into the concrete walls and hidden from attack. All locks should be from the inside (still working on this as this could become a problem if the lock is damaged) Provisions should be made inside like spare phones and other communication gadgets fully recharged, all kinds of alarms and loud speakers, oxygen mask for about 10 persons, extinguishers and Firearms. It is also important to train the occupants of the house on the use of the secret safe room. Drills should be carried out regularly until everyone knows what to do in times of distress. I am sure there are better ideas out there........ Add more if you remember how to make it better. 2 Likes |

mufutau55: Talking about the Roof Installer "Nnamdi" More importantly is the need to exercise some patience with him when engaged because he handles his job like a baby and personally. No need to rush him and regret later which is mostly the case with most roofing jobs. People gets too excited to have a roof over their house forgetting roof and foundation are the most important parts of a house that cannot be easily amended. I'm sure Madam Toonaki (the owner of the project posted) would have been here to express her grievances if she didn't get what she wanted. Sir Farm1 and so many other I've recommended him to had never had cause to come back here to complain about his job and their projects are beautifully crafted. Everyone I've recommended him to knew I always preach patience and I'm happy they gave him what he needed. I personally endorse him. 2 Likes

EgunMogaji: Wow! Very good and educative reading. I will see if I can get the movie mentioned to learn more. But in our Nigeria with little or no electricity, I was thinking of using alternatives like a battery operated ventilator fan to keep fresh air inside and vent to the roof attic. I will print and study more from that website. Thanks for sharing the link Sir. |

spyder880: You're welcome Sir. 1) Please nigerianize this for us. 2) Once you master this then I foresee many of your personal homes for diasporans having this requested. 3) I missed a perfect opportunity to having a subterenian exit that dumps out into the garage house or even the courtyard. But as you know construction cost start going up once you start making changes once you are building. |

spyder880: @ spyder880, here's my simple safe roof plan for a 2 bedroom house. Notes: 1. Safe room is slabbed 2. Safe room has a 14ft headroom (the head room spaces serves as areas to install cabinets for emergency needs such as first aid kits, snacks, emergency mobile phones, inverter, CCTV systems, and defense mechanisms) 3. There's provision for a ladder to access the roof slab. The access only lead into a small 2x2ft door which can only be opened from the safe room. 4. Safe room runs on dedicated 1.5kva inverter with 2 x 200amps battery that can power the room for more than 15 hours. 5. Safe room security door (barn door style) are locked from inside the room. It's a floor to ceiling steel+concrete door 6. Safe room have Air Cooler/Humidifier with exhaust/vent in the roof. 7. Safe room have first aid kits and Snacks/Water to last 6 people for 72 hours 8. Safe room have a dedicated internet router with hidden SSID 9. Safe room have a TV to monitor the hidden spy cameras in the building 10. Safe room have dedicated mobile lines that no one have access to. 11. Safe room have a single sofa to bunk bed. Just what I can come up with in the least time possible. I know it can be improved upon. But one thing for sure is this, the safe room is built with concrete and not block walls (not even triple wall) 1 Like

n3xt: Good ideas my man. But always plan for appliances that use less electricity, inverters are good too. |
Re: General Topic Thread-To Discuss Anything And Everything in Building Construction by n3xt(m): 7:40am On Jun 08, 2016 |
spyder880: Sure. The only thing that draw more energy from the inverter is the 65W air cooler. Every other thing are less than are battery operated. I've been using the air cooler and inverter solution for more than 3 years now and 10 hours uninterrupted power supply is guaranteed in each room I have it. 1. Internet Modem/Router (battery operated and can last more than 18 hours on Voice and Data) 2. Lights - 8 - 10W LED lights will do. 3. CCTV monitor to be battery operated if not remotely monitored via Internet. (I can get a very good Chinese model) That's all.

I agree Lekki County is the place to go if you want to see how beautiful uPVC Windows can look after installation. Another place where it is largely used is the RCCG camp. The hardware are more sturdier than the ones on aluminum. Good job kolaa007

Panic or safe room can't be done without 24hour power supply. The unexpected can happen at anytime therefore electricity Must be stable ad be at alert. Inverters/solars cant be rely on cos they can break down especially if we buy the fake ones. A tunnel is also a good idea but will cost more money than a panic room. Ideas like this works perfectly in abroad and not our obodo Nigeria where we fast and pray before we see electricity. |
