Successive Governors of the Niger-delta states are equally culpable in creating this mess present in the villages in the area. This whole developmental tragedy stems from lack of local good governance and corruption.

People keep saying agitating with violence like the NDA are currently doing is not the answer, but peaceful methods have been tried in the past and the Nigerian Government kills unarmed protesters and activists and everybody yields their sacrifice will never be forgotten, their stories are only stories, it didn't achieve anything, Ken Saro Wiwa died for nothing and so did every other hero that agitated for a better Nigeria. The people at the top do not care about the masses nor the Niger Delta they are only interested in keeping the status quo.
It is clear that we are in Nigeria, people only listen to your complaint when you succeed at making them uncomfortable, these white people peaceful protest crab is not for Nigeria, It is simply a dead sentence for protesters!

If you are non-violent in Nigeria, the government would not listen to you.You can see that from the way the IPOB/MASSOB guys has been treated

That's what many Nigerians don't want to admit. The only language people like Buhari understand is violence. If the Niger Delta Avengers had demanded dialogue, Buhari would have ignored them. If they had gone out to protest, they would have been shot and killed just like IPOB and MASSOB. So they did the only thing that will get Buhari's attention, they blew up Oil installations.

Buhari can either choose to do the right thing or continue to hide in London because without meeting up with these conditions the avengers aren't gonna let go.

Secondly, International community can't give us a swift solution, A case study is Syria, Pakistan, Russia, Secession is not as easy as you think. The major mistake of PMB's administration is the revocation of the pipeline guard contract. I believe, without violence, there's a fix. Together we'll achieve great things. For a ship to sail well, sailors will say ; All hands on deck. Give Nigeria one more chance.
U. Point has been noted. But Nigeria don't listen to dialogue. Only wen they are at loss. This oil structure continues this way. They re d ones gaining, so any plan to dialogue will be thrown to d thrash. Lemme give u 2 major examples. If Nigeria really wants to dialogue
1. Why not implement d confab report?
2. Why shoot at unharmed Biafra protestants?

At least they are talking. I understand their plight, but I am not convinced of their sincerity. The problem is beyond the FG, the problem is within the Delta. 13% derivation, NDDC, Niger Delta Ministry, Amnesty etc. and still their is no development whatsoever in the region to point to, it is clearly beyond the FG. The Avengers will gain my respect when the start asking their leaders to account for the huge resources they have got and are still getting, they should plead with Jonathan to explain why he could not build an airport in Bayelsa or refurbish the Port Harcourt International Airport to world standard despite been in the saddle for six years. They should ask Tompolo where he got money from to build structures worth 13 billion Naira and why Asari Dokubo chose to build a multi-billion dollar university in Benin Republic, when Niger Delta University is a glorified secondary school. It is beyond the FG, it is within the Delta. I respect the fact that they are talking, at least we can jaw jaw, but they should be realistic in their demands, and put the Niger Delta and its people first, beyond selfish interest. I don talk my yown!

According to Merriam Webster; Terrorism is the use of violent acts to frighten. the people in an area as a way of trying to achieve apolitical goal. Thanks.

Then our military are terrorists too.

You are not wrong at all, but no matter how long the avengers keep blowing pipelines they will not get 20% of all their demands met; that's just the unfortunate truth. Nigeria will eventually break up but not this decade.

I am a die hard Yoruba man and passionate about Yoruba and self determination. I cried when Ken saro wiwa was murdered and during the reign of Colonel Komo genocide in Rivers state.
My concern about the touts and criminals in the Niger delta is not about the struggle we started during ERA (Ethnic Right Agenda) now Environmental Right Agency, and Campaign for Democracy (CD) Beko Kuti, Tunde Oladunjoye and host of others.

Saro wiwa we knew, any other agitator from the Niger delta is a criminal stealing oil.

I know and it will come to pass that, any independent for the Niger delta and resource control will wipe the region from the world map.

if they fund out very well you can bit even carry rubber gun, NY brother you are educated you should know better than this, the 13 percent oil derivative that us slocated to delta state is even enough to bring sustainable development development to delta but the leaders play politics with our future, we should not emulate the iPod guys who have being fighting lost battle since the time of theira

This should be a defining moment for the people of Niger Delta. They should keep personal interests aside and work in the common interest of all to achieve a better Niger Delta that we all can be proud of. Each passing day, the future looks bleaker for the average Niger Deltan as his resources are carted away to develop other regions while he wakes up only to be smeared in the face with the debris left behind! They take away your resources and tell you it's the decision of the majority! When you complain they tell you it's democraZy and that things go the way of the majority. When you do a cosmetic surgery on the truth and present it to a people, its effect won't last as its true nature will be discovered sooner or later. For the Avengers, as long as you stay true to your desire to see a better Niger Delta, you'll have sympathizers. God bless your struggle.

'They take away your resources'

Abel bros, who are the 'they'? Is the FG coming over to take away money given to the state and local governments? Does the FG collect money budgeted and allocated to the NDDC or the Niger Delta ministry?

Has the FG ever withheld the 13% derivation funds from the states?

Conveniently, the 'they' never includes their brothers and sisters who steal and embezzle funds earmarked for the development of the delta. That's why Alams was still celebrated until his death despite confessing to stealing tens of billions of naira.

Soul searching is needed indeed. Nigeria has failed the people of the Niger Delta, but the people of the ND have let themselves down, too.
