Of course. The volumes being smuggled out of the country have drastically reduced because the incentive has been removed.
not any smuggling jare..people can't afford 145 per litre..how many people can fill their tank? Lagos roads are now free..with reduced traffic. ...is that due yo smuggling too?
even generators owners can't afford petrol anymore..fact
nor this your deluded smuggling thoery

My brother,I don't use heavy equipments o. I noticed the consumption when fridge isn't on and when it is on,isn't much. How much is that yamaha gen you're talking of?

If you have the big Gen that can power your refrigerator, I will suggest you use that if phcn does not supply power just to power your refrigerator and use the small gen for TV, Musical set, Fan and lights which I still will suggest energy saving bulbs. The last time i bought it was #42,000 and that was before the foreign exchange ish. But I guess it should be up to #55k now or more but you can Google John Holt and make your inquiry. They are located at kudirat abiola, Oregun Ikeja. But trust me, that Gen is super and you will have peace of mind compared to the substandard one.

Fact remains that sales on rice and tomatoes have equally dropped. It doesn't mean people stopped eating, they simply changed their taste - from fresh tomatoes to pepper and onions; from parboiled rice to garri; from air conditioned SUV to keke; from kerosene to bamboo sticks and charcoal.

I do not think the new transition is worth celebrating. Reduction in PMS sales is not good for anyone. It is bad market to the CEO of gas stations, to the people, and to the government.
less waste in the system

That is better

Instead of them claiming they paid billions of subsidy on Petrol nobody bought.

The right thing is to adjust when the economy calls for it is to sacrifice for the future.

I hope our useless leaders sacrifice too.

Its not better but an okay situation given the circumstances. The issue now is how feasible is it that the government can curtail the activities of NDA? We are currently losing about 600,000 barrels per day.

But by my analysis there is no way we will have 14.7 percent inflation rate in May, from 12.8 percent in April.

Some of these journalists self.

In my house we now use 600 naira petrol for 3 nights (7:30pm-past 9) or anytime the fuel finishes. People hardly drive around unnecessarily $ I have stopped going out except it's "very important". Also, those that use gen in my area like it's Nepa light have stopped.
my brother, I think you are referring to me, I hardly sleep at night before without Gen, even when d weather is cold, but now, I don't switch on the gen without a genuine reason o! I have even stopped subscribing for my DSTV because there is no electricity to watch it...The thing get as e be ooo. Make God just help us o

I have a Charcoal iron and I also have a steel-fabricated iron (they sell it in the market) that I put on my small "camp" gas cooker to heat it up to iron. I prefer the steel-fabricated iron because it is lighter.

The drop can never be due to only one reason. I would expect that all the reasons given on this thread are correct to varying degrees. It's a pity we don't have proper statistics in this country. It would have been useful to know exactly how much less cars there are on the streets, how much less people are showing up to buy petrol in jerry cans for generator and how many people are leaving cars at home or car pooling.

Truly, sales dropped. Most filling stations that were so excited during the period of scarcity now print big banners, hang right in front of their stations because they feel people are not aware that they have fuel for sale. I was shocked to even see one write boldly in its banner "NOW N140". Its hitting them hard too.

Why are they complaining. The day price of fuel was increased, all the petrol stations rushed to increase the pump. Even those that were still selling old stock. So dont complain when nigerians cant afford ur fuel. Is better u start drinking it or use it to make soup! grin

They must to use that thing drink garri by fire by force. I seriously wish that product even has an expiry date sef.

It depends on what you are powering with your Gen. An original Yamaha 950 sold by John Holt should last about 9 hours full tank which is just 4 litres of fuel.
pls where can I buy this gem and how much?

DC pressing irons are available that are powered by 12 volts car battery or 150 watts solar panel. Even you can use your gen to iron all your clothes within 2 hrs tops.

That 600 fuel will almost fill the 5litre keg, so I divide it into 3,tilt the gen towards the fuel outlet $ open that outlet slightly, grin forget it aye ti gbon,it will last ova 2hours $ i'll charge my phone $ do everything I need to do before it goes off, meanwhile i'm complaining that the gen is consuming too much fuel $i have taken it to the mechanic now for better conservation of fuel.

Of course. The volumes being smuggled out of the country have drastically reduced because the incentive has been removed.

According to globalpetrol prices.com Nigeria sill has one of the cheap pump price in the world

http://www.globalpetrolprices.com/gasoline_prices/

Thus smuggling is still very much attractive

This drop is largely due to changing consumer habits and poor state of d economy

Most states are owing salaries
