kindly help prof, my sumec i better pass my neighbour gen, works only for about 2 hours after which it will either refuse to start or the voltage will become very low. After taking it for repairs it will just work for another two and the same thing continues.... i ve tried another Mechanic , still the same result. 1. Do you think i am just unlucky with the mechanics or the Gen is just dead ( i ve used it for 2 years now). 2.is there anything i can suggest to them to change . kindly help because i am just frustrated with it. thanks

Hello, good day. i just got the 8800 model too, I also noticed that the rope is a bit stiff to draw, though the battery is okay. I really want to know if yours is serving you, how long have u used it and does it carry load upto the 6000 watts written on it?

Mine is 6 years old and has been serving me well. It worked fine the first 3 years without any servicing.

I do on my a direct without stabilizer with it and some time with my deep freeze. Its a powerful gen set indeed

is not that the gen is too old, the chanleng is that the engs have not be able to dectet the fault. Now i can only dectet th faul by seing or hearing the way the engine go off. Or u explaine to me how it goes off. Then i can tell u the everlasting solution to that fault

1. U small gen can power ur 1k inverter to charg ur 100ahm batry, but is not advisable, cos the ahm of that i pas my neighbour gen is very low to charg 100ahm batry to his full capacity, the batry wil charg oh, but it will not strong,it will run quick.
2.. U can stable th voltage by giving the engin average or more load(applainces). If it still persist the ur cab is making the engine to breath instead of running straight. So cab need service or gen.
3.1800 engine and i pas my neighbour are using dsame cab,but differ in shape. So but consumption are same.

2. how do you regulate the frequency of a 8.1kva thermocool genset (mine is reading 39Hz but increasing the current takes it to just 42hz and of course fuel comsumption becomes too high then)

1. Have not realy study more about ups, if ups is also an avr system or just an unterupted power suply, if i can to the ofice i wil get a ups and study if still an avr (automatic voltage regulator) system

if u are to power the 1hp pump and fridge at same time u need 8000gen(5.5kva) but if u are to power dem not at same time just get 2900gen(2.5kva).

Really appreciate you input on all generator issues. I read all that has been talked about so far but did not see one as the issue I have. SO. I have a SUMEC FIRMAN SPG3000E2 and FGP8800E2L.
The SPG3000 has had the part that suspend the coil broken 3 times now when in use and the second time this happened my generator mechanic adviced I get a sumec coil with handle(That part that has the crest on the coil)as mine has been affected during the time that part got broken. So we got another follow come from a similar model and in less than a month the same thing happen.
This brings me to my FGP88002L which is relatively new but had an engine change(too many hands operating the gen without proper check) But has been left without use for some time now because of the very high fuel consumption. I got it serviced and put 10 litres of petrol. To my surprise this lasted for only 4hours. So I call all my gen mechanic again who adjusted a screw at the cabourator but the same thing happen so tonight when i read your tread i tighten the right screw and hope this will work.
WHAT CAN BE THE CAUSE OF THE BREAKING AND WHAT IS YOU ADVICE ON THIS?
HOW CAN I GET MY 8800 to be more fuel economical
CAN THE 8800 GEN WITHSTAND THE LOAD OF TWO AC- 1HP AND 2HP WITH OTHER OFFICE EQUIPMENT LIKE PROJECTOR. 2 FLAT SCREEN TV. PHOTOCOPIER.ELECTRIC KETTLE(ONCE IN AWHILE USAGE). TABLE TOP FRINGE. NORMAL OFFICE LIGHTINGS AND 3 FANS.

first that 8000 gen cannot cary those ur listed applainces,
secondly, u can reduce ur fuel consump by (1)make sure the gen firing(the speed)is low,(2) tight the fuel control screw.
Let come to that ur 3000, i dont realy understand the part u are talking about, is it the alluminium cover that cover the coil, or that engine sitting that suspend the engine frm the base?

i think i now wat u are talking about, we call that part amuature cover,
now all u need to do is get a belguim or change where u do normaly buy those new ones, is like they are to slim, and makd sure that cover sit on that black rubber that suspend it frm the gen frame.
Now that ur 8000 cannot even power that ur 1hp ac and the 2hp at the time, but can power 1hp ac with ur fridge and ur electronic and bolbs.
Pls dont use that electric cooker on ur 8000 gen, if only that cooker is use or it uses small element.

abeg! @enochogaga the "I better pass my neighbor" I just bought is making too much noise! its too loud. I am not the only one with this small generator here, but na my own loud pass. A neighbor of mine (that seems to know everything) says I should change the exhaust (its not a brand new gen). secondly, I saw red sparks flying out of the generator earlier on, what does that mean.
