I know you don't mean it. Check all your postings on Nairaland.

Oh yes! Trust me I know! Many of my posts are about what a fraud you are and how people looking for builders online should avoid you!

The other half is pretty cool roof slope and insulation graphics....any problem? I have a lot more to share....only thing is I'm used to getting paid for it, and I respect clients confidential information.... something you know nothing about!

Imposed load or 'Dead load' is a constant(s) assigned to a structure with respect to it's function according to BS 8110. Hence, the imposed load of a residential building would differ to that of an hotel and so on.

lastpage:

Oga Abdulwasteexc,

I noticed you used burnt bricks in the slab for which calculation you showed in that pix.
I guess this is also a good way to reduced slab weight!

BTW, are those "imposed loads" VALUE, "standard values" (for Hotels, Residential, e.t.c.......... or do they depend on the size of the building, which may vary form building-to-building?

You are really thorough.

Oga Egun,

You are just too correct. Well said

While I don't condone violence We should stop condoning/encouraging such practices.

People don't steal this money. They work very hard for it.

Whilst it's very OK to preach forgive and forget, turn the other cheek and so forth... we should also look at his track record and see if he has not been given so many chances.

Let's not keep spoiling Nigeria by bringing sentiments into malpractices. We won't get anywhere at this rate.

EgunMogaji:

In my opinion this is why Nigeria is backwards. We keep cuddling petty criminals.

So 3Strikes should be happy that his house didn't collapse? Only in naija grin

He's lucky so far that it's only online banter that's happening.

You should look up the penalties for false building approval for a commercial building on the USA. It includes jail term.

The people he ripped off are diasporans so they have a certain expectation.

Only the person who wears the shoe knows where it pinches. Let them vent appropriately as long as it's within the TOS of this site.

This cuddling is what he's used to over the years and what he expects and why the fraud continues to perpetuate.

I and others are making sure those days are over for him on here, for now.

Oga QC1, don't waste your energy here. Let people give their jobs to Brabus and let them come here and preach forgiveness when things go wrong.

Morning nairalanders, I found out something really cool yesterday on a new built in Canada. After curing a newly pour concrete for the foundation of a new home which is also referred to as basement, the builder wrap all around the foundation with a rubber like material which will prevent water from penetrating the foundation and also direct water away from the concrete foundation down toward an open drain piping placed around the foundation. This will prevent water or moisture from ever penetrating the pores or permeable areas of the foundation. Cool right? I will love to apply this material in Nigeria. My question to our experts in the house is has this ever being used in Nigeria? If yes, can I use this material on my raft foundation? Thanks

Good news! I have this company with contact details below market some of their waterproofing products to me this afternoon. They have different range for different application.

You may want to visit their website for more info.

My top three wasteful build/design concept in rental properties in Nigeria:

3. Wall lamps

2. "Parapet"

1. Mortar use during block setting

Parapet and mortar use have been debated a lot here so can I ask why in Nigeria do we install all round wall lamps? It's not uncommon to see in Nigeria an average living room with 8 lamp points: three wall lamp points in the parlour and one lamp point at the middle of the ceiling, three lamp points in the dinning area and one lamp point in the middle. In the rooms; five lamp points each. Just one lamp point at the middle is enough. One can use reading lamp or bed lamp if so desired. All round wall lamps don't add any rental income whatsoever.

This practice is very wasteful as one can save easily about 70% in pipping and wiring cost if just one lamp/bulb point is adopted in the middle of the room as is the standard practice here in the UK. See pic below, no wall lamps but still well presented living area.

What's your top three wasteful practice anyone?

What is so difficult for you to say here that you paid X amount and maverick should please check to confirm. Brabus supporters please take note hope you have seen what causes the wohala here. If you like get busy or play kalolo with ya life thats not my bizness, real Builders here post real building projects they are starting and thier works speak for them and not fictitious projects you are well known for.
