It was her birthday which coincidentally fell on a working day. I had arranged with a cake maker to do me a cake with this caption written on it, "thanks for this 5 years, let's do forever. Be my wife".

I got a delivery guy to delivery both the ring and cake beautifully wrapped together. When they announced her name that some delivery guy have a parcel for her, she was surprised as the guy pretended to be in love with her and came to wish her happy birthday. Blame Hollywood for this irritating trend. I don't think you need to propose when it is time because you both should have defined your relationship before hand.

When the man is ready, let him simply ask the lady ''when can my people come and see yours?", and she will understand. That is a proposal on its own.

All the hullabaloo about proposals, pre-wedding photos, bridal shower and other nonsense is what makes people forget that marriage is serious business, and then when they enter they begin to complain.

At least, it shouldn't be a trend every man must follow when proposing to a lady... One thing every man should do is try to be unique in his endeavours.. Take for example, rolling on the floor to propose is not a bad idea
