I don't know how people will be putting someone under pressure that you already know that by default this person already has a lot on her plate. How many people in the entire universe do not want children especially in Africa. There needs to be a movement against in-laws wahala on this Nigeria o. You know someone is feeling bad already, what will highlighting the matter do.

Just like when I was ttc-ing. I will go for party. A woman will just drag me to one corner, be asking me what we are waiting for? What kind of question is that? I just discovered this painful pimples on my face just after AF and before AF,the one that came during AF is stil dere,no tips,or mouth and now two more are poping up,just a week after AF,biko is this one normal?

i have been absent from this thread for so long, I would not even try to start catching up for now.
Somebody liked may post from almost 6 years and drew my attention back to the the post.

I can add so much to this post but some of the things I would say would be hard to believe by the ordinary person.

1. Stop washing your plates or even clothes with detergents use plain water. You may soak your clothes in hot water and drop a teaspoon of Bicarbonate of Soda in the water.

2. If you can distill the water you drink and cook with , do so. Otherwise filter your water as there may be may harmful substances such as pesticides and heavy metals.
Look into investing in the inexpensive clay filter.

3. Avoid plastics from coming into contact with your food or water, some plastics are worst than others but avoid doing things us as cooking moi moi wrapped in polyethene bags, or cooking your moi moil in plastic bags.

4. Avoid taking medicines and drugs where possible and seek alternative natural / native medicines.

5. Do not bath with soap or gel or wash your hair with shampoo - just use plain water with a teaspoon of Bicarbonate of Soda, with a scrub clean your body mechanically.
You would be amazed at the results you would have better skin as you body would produce less oils, no body odour , I can attest tho these changes - I even have almost no ear wax now.

6. Get rid of all make up and deodorant, all toiletries and hair products unless you could find natural organic alternatives.

7. I can go on but I would stop for now as I am a little busy right now.

8. Do not take any vaccinations.

I am not a doctor or an expert, but I have some idea for people ttc as my wife and I had gone through period of ttc. I thank God we have now been blessed with 3 children.

Here is some suggestions that  I think everyone (male & female) trying to conceive should implement:

1). If you are overweight try to loses some weight , this can be done by doing more exercise and eliminating unnecssary sugars your diet (e.g. soft drinks) and drinking more water.
Try and make changes to your lifestyle that is sustainable: incorporate more excise in your normal daily activity, eg. where you may normally take a bus consider walking.
If you have people going to shop for you, consider accompanying them or going by yourself.

Instead of eating 3 large meals per day have six smaller meals and fill yourself up with water after each small meal; Take your time to chew each mouthful thoroughly and apppreciate the flavour of the meal.

Make sure 50-60% of your food intake is vegetables or fibres, remainder 40-50% should be equally divided between protiens and cabohydrates.

Obesity may cause infertility in both men and women.

In women it may cause polyscystic ovaries syndrome, which is caused by pre-diabetic condition known as insulin-resistance. Your doctor may prescribe metformin, which helps convert sugars in your body to energy, and would also aid weight loss.

In Men, obesity dramatically reduces testosterone levels and consequently sperm production. Not only is less sperm produced by the testicles, but because of the weight issues, the testicles are more squashed between his legs and are over-heated, which reduces further the amount of sperm available.
Men need to wear loose fitting underwear and trousers that give the testicles room to hang freely so that they are not squashed up against the body and over-heated. Driving or seating for long period daily could overheat testicles so it is important, men sits in a way that keeps the testicles as cool as possible. This applies especially to office workers or professional drivers.

Another effect of low testosterone is erectile dysfunction, and this obviously would affect the man's ability to have sexual intercourse when it is necessary.

I personally feel that  couples trying to conceive should try and eat natural organic food as much is possible and to avoid putting harmful chemicals into your system, from using natural soaps to avoiding toothpaste and using chewing stick. Avoid hair relaxers and use natural body cream where possible (coca butter). I think that unnatural harmful chemicals in our bodies could effect the quality of sperm (chromosonal quality) and same could go for quality of eggs a woman produces.

@My Peace, I am sorry that hear about your loss. My wife lost 2 pregnancies at 5months and 3months, the first was due to an infection, so doctors decided to start her on anti-biotics at 3-4 months the next time she is pregnant.

Her second miscarriage was due to (I am not sure if the correct term ) a natural abortion , where the foetus fails to develop, but the pregnancy progresses as normal for a couple of months, this results in an empty sack being discovered at the time of the miscarriage. The  Doctor told us that this type of miscarriage is normally due to chromosonal abnomalities in the foetus.

Finally when ttc, we were advised to have sex every other day, I think especially for men with low sperm count, they should abstain from ejaculation about a week before their women comes into her fertile days, to help build up sperm in his testicles and then have sex every other day.

Hv u heard of NAPRO technology doctors? Dey are doctors who hv training on wat many term unexplained fertility out of ignorance lyk ds LUFS. I read about dem n LUFS treatment wen I was looking 4 solution upandan n dey are in Nigeria! Differnt states, even contacted dem. Browse about napro nigeria online, u will see dia contact n call dem based on ur location.

Thanks Sixx for this advice.....I have contacted a Napro tech doctor in Nigeria. He confirmed LUFs, stated that clomid with Baby aspirin can cause LUFs. Blood work is not enough to monitor ovulation. One's body can indicate the person ovulated meanwhile the follicle never ruptured.The best way to monitor to be sure is to carry out follicle tracking right from CD 14 ( Depending on the length of your schedule). But the good thing with LUFs is that it can correct on its own when the effect of baby aspirin has subsided in the body. He advise I allow one cycle elapse before commencement of any treatment

Meanwhile before i saw your post on Napro tech, I had stopped all prescription ( Metformin, baby aspirin, clomid etc). Went for an official trip and use that opportunity to contact a Naturepath Doc. shared my result with him, He gave me herbs -Maca,(1*3 times daily) Vitex (1*2 times daily) , Tribulus (500mg daily, CD 5-14) , Royal jelly(500mg once daily) and Licorice ( 250mg * 2 daily Cd 5-9) , Fenugreek( 1000mg daily) and Omega h3( 1 daily). I noticed I ovulated very well on CD 15 but DH was not on ground to deposit but we BD 3 days before my trip..Hope I can still get BFP because i read sperm can stay in the body up to 5 days.

Is your fibroid hindering conception? How big are they?

Benignsweet, a mama here (I hope I got the moniker right) also has herbs/supplements for dissolving fibroids. I don't know what it is but you can contact her if you still want to try the herbal route.
You can also seek for advice here from other sabi mama's on the best option for fibroid treatment. But, like I said, some mama's here adviced me to go for the surgery, I went & today by the grace of God I'll be 2months fibroid free in the next couple of days. I went into the theatre with fibroids the size of a 5 months old foetus, fibroids that blocked my cervix & also my fallopian tubes, I slept, woke up & discovered they are gone...
