I still dont understand how the setting up of business and tax payment will help him for US visa, am not sure about other embassies like the 5 u claimed you have up there but for US embassy, they are not likely going to check any document, they require you to come and defend what you filled in your form most times. The VO said to somebody in my presence that they are aware there are a lot of fake documents flying around so they usually dont waste their time checking.

If you have any experience in this regard please share. we learn with each post

I was tracking it at https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=WwjqOlbeRYzCYubaSQI+RA==

The application was submitted on 9/06/2016. The process went from No Status to Ready by 13/06/2016, to Administrative proccessing on 14 to 15 June 2016 and finally issue on 15/06/2016. To know if your passport is ready for pickup send a blank email to passportstatus@ustraveldocs.com. Enter your passport number in the subject line. You will receive a reply within 24 hours. I thanks all the member @ladyG, that helped with the dropbox renewal.

Babbs, I came here on full undergraduate scholarship some years ago. I want her to have her green card and be able to visit whenever. I can't wait to have my mother around. I have not started the process cuz I'm weighing to see the best options eg.
How about if I file for green card for her to come here straight...is that still a good option?

If I may ask, how did you immigrate to the US? Your mom coming through with B1/B2 visa and then you filing for her is much quicker but it is little tricky. She'll be given a duration of six months to stay in US ( POE ), but the question is, if you file for her during that period, will she be interviewed before her six month elapses?

If you decide to take this route, then NVC will be eliminated out of the process. You'll have to file an I-130 form with I-485 which is the adjustment of status form with USCIS.

Not sure which state you live in but in Washington state where I used to live, it's very possible your mom would've been interviewed within that six month period cos, there are not too many cases compare to states like Maryland and New York.

Even though some people just wait it out, in violation of their B1/B2 visa, I wouldn't advice that. So this is what you can do, your mom comes in with a tourist visa, you file for her, if her interview date does come within that six months, let her come to naija and she can always come back when her interview is scheduled.

Very simple.

Armofone, your mom coming straight with a green card, was the first scenario I gave before you said someone told you about her coming with a visiting visa then filing for her being quicker. Which I explained to you how you can go about that.

So explain that the purpose ofthe trip has changed. Its still B visa u need. And u need to prove ties still. So nothing really fundamentally different

It can enter that status this morning and change soon - same day, next day or two! Afraid of something? You will only be called in for an interview /a talk if need be tops.... Satisfied?

Hopefully it changes to issued in the next one or two business days (take note that you may also be called in for an interview randomly or for something that needs attention/clarification).

Be guided not to wait more than two days of seeing "issued" before going to DHL in case they "fail" to reach you on application status right on time, particularly if you are in a hurry, you will be surprised to see it was always ready for pickup. Dunno why it's been happening so to some peeps though. This is for you and others that may find themselves in that situation!

Administrative processing showing up during issuance of your visa is normal. Everybody gets it, but because most people don't track it they don't know. It normally shows up for like a day or two then changes to "Issued". Hopefully that is your case. Relax
