Hi everyone, As regards the exit of UK from the EU, their are some disturbing questions I want to ask; - what now happens to the non eu spouses, extended family, children of Euro citizens, even though they have not applied for residence card. And will UK decision affect their applications if they apply now. - what now happened to the eu citizens living in the UK |

victosin002: Brexit is not retrospective, and should not affect settled residents. But the finer details on restrictions and otherwise, are still yet to be sorted out NB: Article 50 has not yet been activated. Let's watch and see how Brexit pans out. If Brexit is eventually actioned, it would still take almost 2 years, to untangle all the EU connections and otherwise. 1 Like |

lashani01: Hi there This is what I did for my husband and his arrival in the UK My hubby arrived in the UK on Saturday 13th February 08/02/2016 Council Tax- I informed them as soon as I booked his flight (8th Feb) and advised what date he would be moving to the UK 15/02/2016- Went to the post office to collect BRP (Biometrics residents permit) 15/02/2016- Called Electricity, Southern Water and Portsmouth water and also called National Insurance line made application 16/02/2016- SSE (Electricity issued a bill) this was a PDF online bill I used as proof of address 17/02/2016- Opened NatWest Bank account and registered with GP 18/02/2016- I did my husband a CV and we went to the agencies and registered for work. 18/02/2016- Appointment with Lloyds Bank to open a Joint Savings account. 22/02/2016- FPR recruitment asked hubby to come in for a health and safety test PASSED 23/02/2016- Hubby started his first job in the UK in a bakery, and is still there (and did SIA security training, now awaiting the licence) 24/02/2016- Applied online for a provisional Licence 02/03/2016- D/L application arrived pre filled, signed returned with BRP card 15/03/2016- BRP returned from DVLA ( I knew a licence is issued as the ref is a DL number 16/03/2016- Provisional Arrived So in a nutshell: -Council tax -Collect BRP -National Insurance -Electric company -Gas company ( if you have) -Water company (both fresh and waste) Then once you have a letter from one of the utilities or council tax: -Bank Account -GP -Dentist (my husband hasn't yet registered with one ) useful information: NI number: https://www.gov.uk/apply-national-insurance-number call 0345 600 0643 Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm (make sure you state he has been offered a job but requires a NI number) they will ask why you need one although obvious, however you can actually work for up to 12 weeks without an NI number this is issued now by the jobcentre Plus not DWP You need to get proof of address before you can open a bank account or register with a GP, so make sure those are the first things, check your billing dates for utilities as you could time it to get a bill the following day, as i called the day before my bill was due to be generated (luckily) Driving Licence ( international licence can be used for 12 months from entering UK) https://www.gov.uk/apply-first-provisional-driving-licence And make sure you file any letters for Joint or single names for your next stage FLR as you need to provide proof of cohabitation I hope this helps 4 Likes |

it is 12 weeks period for you now ...... (monday completes exact 12 week) Let us see what u hear on or before tomorrow... if you do not get any email before 1 pm tomorrow .. i will recommend you call them... it should cost u around 3 to 4k naira... that is worth spending to get the exact status of your application. the straightforward email is mostly sent if they do not meet the dead-on 12 weeks of application. obabola123: 1 Like |

Hello, i just receive mail from HO this evening that-- A decision has been made on your UK Visa application. Your application will be dispatched shortly from the Decision Making Centre in Sheffield, UK. If anyone contacts you advising that your application is still under consideration or that they can influence the outcome of your application in any way, they cannot - please report any such approach to VisaSheffield@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk. Applications submitted at a Visa Application Centre will be returned there for you to collect. 1 Like |

Good morning everyone on this forum. How was our weekend? Please, has anyone submitted his/her application with a Nigerian B.sc certificate without IELTS or UK Naric supporting document? Secondly, am I to send a wedding photo album since I dont have single copies? Thanks |
Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Portsmouth86(f): 12:16pm On Jul 04, 2016 |
mizbee: Firstly, Good luck in your upcoming application. I wouldn't be able to comment on the BSC however with reference to you sending your photo album, I advise against sending the whole album as files go missing all the time however you can supply photos printed on A4 paper, I'm sure you can copy them some how, just to make sure , you need to supply photos throughout the whole relationship not just for the wedding. anything else feel free to ask 1 Like |

mizbee: Hi dear, please do the IELTS so you can have rest of mind? and don't forget it is the IELTS Life skill A1, on the refusal letter, there is a section strictly for IELTS if the requirement is met or not. Just do it pls! NARIC is ok too but it's a long process! They will gladly deny you if u don't do either. Regards the pictures, your photobook won't even be accepted, just print out soft copies ok? I submitted about 40 pictures and only got about 12 back. All the best dear! 1 Like |

KemBee86: I think that is misleading, Bsc taught in English is far higher than IELTS which is just A level English language qualification. She doesn't need to do it and it stated in UKBA website that if you have such qualification that will be acceptable. 2 Likes |
