but oga Henry dat pf2 need extensive improvement n modification.

d Israeli model looks pretty appealing dan d pf2

It's exact same vehicle. A colour change and a change in black tires, and that's it.

The Air Force or military as a whole could decide to shed some armour, that's it.

We have and build a better vehicle yet we choose to buy from abroad. It's incomprehensible, i can't quite understand the rationale behind the purchase of the Honker, when there is the PF Leopard.

For Henry, who's finally seen the light and recognises the utility of these vehicles wink. Perhaps these are the future projects ICP mentions?

Introducing the REVA Scout (mhhh...OTT Hunter?).

The Reva Scout looks like the OTT Puma was completely plagiarized.

The Reva Fav is more like it, however Nigerian companies make similar vehicles, so i really don't see the requirement to import.

Now this is regional hegemon-like. Here's hoping Nigeria's military's will never be allowed to deteriorate to such levels.

1 THE PRICE : the honkers cound be a second hand that served Polish Army for some time but still look new cos they were never heavilly used the could be bought at very low price.

2 The Honker's off-road performance and reliablity looks better.thus reducing the oprational cost.it looks lighter and better in manuverblity and mobility

- I spotted one up-close just this week. They are new deliveries.

- The Proforce leopard is built on a Land-cruiser chassis, armour can be taken away to reduce weight, improve reliability and manuverability.

for any region or regional organization to progress there must be an hegemon somewhere dictating the state of things. the Warsaw fell with the fall of soviet Russia, we are gradually witnessing the fall of the eu, The EAC fell when Uganda and Tanzania effectively checked Kenyan Hegemony. ecowas would fail without a strong Nigeria. and if ecowas fails, then what hope do we have for regional co-operation in Africa?

I suspect you misunderstood me. It's precisely because Nigeria is a West African hegemon that her military should never again be allowed to deteriorate to the point where troops are jerry-rigging MGs in choppers for want of proper mounts.

Is this the pf leopard? looks bad on off-road performance.look at the Approach and Departure Angles
Yes armour can be taken away, but if you do that there is nothing different than a land-cuiser pick-up.They would rather use land-cruiser.

You're making an issue over a non-issue. That MG was only a temporary fix, so as we have seen. None of NAF's available Puma's are rigged with MGs.

If it isn't used, you'll never be able to ascertain for certain, photos do not tell the full story.

The PF leopard is also similar to the Saymar from Israel.

Why would that be a problem seeing that Henry wanted it for the air base protection mission currently undertaken by the imported ageing Honker?
Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by Nobody: 10:23pm On Jun 29, 2016
I'm with Henry on this one: assuming there's no massive price difference, base protection vehicles for the Nigerian Air Force ideally should be the local product. Hell, even Poland is phasing out its Honkers.

thanks for the clarifications. it would cost little improvisation to place that thing on a proper mount. but I believe there is little time for that those choppers were sent straight into the heat of battle from when they arrived.

wanting is one thing
but testing is another thing.
just my guessing.as I said the off-road permormance may not be good

many tough tests must be done for a militray vheicle.there are many videos online. eg . how US Army test Humvee (hummer)or Jeep

the point frum was making is that it should never deteriorate to the point of "quick fixes" or of new equipment being rushed into combat

if you guys visit south Korea you will find corruption but the thing is their corruption is not self bleeding , its more like you take 1% you take 2% as commissions but get the work done within the prescribed norms and quality standards and within the budget.

it not like free for all , they are very industrious and self disciplined and have a curious social and workplace hierarchy , nobody says or does things out of his place, very highly organized society in-spite of certain faults (1 or 2 actually which is surprising )

This

As you know I spent a year in Korea working for HHI

Corruption is real and obvious, But its soft Corruption like nepotism or collusion between the Chaebols (super corporations that hold monopoly over the Korean economy)

But like you said - a contract goes out to build a road, maybe you pay some extra "consulting fees" maybe the contract goes to a politicians son in law maybe all sub contracts go to companies owned by the same chaebol.. But the road is still built on time and to spec

me thinks the vehicle is ok, good all around protection, but i am worried about the ground pressure the tires could be broader or better still another pair of wheels at the back to reduce sinking. i have seen Russians do this to heavier vehicles.
definitely doable .
an in-house product is better than cheap foreign imports , u can always get your in house manufacturer to upgrade and fix it as many times as u want.

I don't see much difference between the two apart from the tires. PF2 is the first of it kind from proforce and am sure subsequent once would have a better look with tire replacement for proper off road use.
