erico2k2: Germany makes all those things with the lowest labor cost in Europe. You listed all high-end cars which equates to lower sales in general. On the other hand every single German brand has affordable cars in the line up which equates to more sales. When I look at my parking lot at work, I see a sea of german cars. Not one UK car. In my garage now are two german vehicles. When I think British cars, I think classic. Guess who makes the parts that I use for restoration The Chinese. My household can't be unique. After studying this thing it seems that it might have a slight impact on the US. Make man tight him pursestrings small 1 Like |

On Brexit This is how I see it, the UK voted for Brexit out of anger (none of them ever thought they would win) and to send a message to the political establishment who have longed been fearful of telling them the truth about immigration, it simply cannot be reduced whilst in the EU period. You can't cherry pick things you want i.e single market access and discriminate on immigration/movement of people. What also happened was that David Cameron used the referendum as a ticket to number 10/seat of power, this played quite nicely into the hands of UKIP who wanted the UK out of Europe anyway. If Cameron didn't call the referendum, he risked more voters turning to UKIP. What could he have done better ? If I were in his shoes, I would only call the referendum in my 4th year in office not after 1 year. I guess he didn't believe the UK could really vote Brexit. What does Brexit mean ? Well as it says on the tin, "Britain exiting Europe". It will not bring the £350m a week the Pro Brexit politicians said will come back to the NHS, if the calculation was right, they would sit tight and implement it, instead they all jumped ship. What does that tell you ? Tony Blair was notorious for the war in Iraq, now David Cameron would be known for the PM that initiated Brexit, even though the guy means well for the country, at least the way they have handled the economy, mind you I am not a Tory party member, I don't belong to any party. I simply vote for the people who could best protect my interests and the wider populace. Europe needs the UK as much as UK needs Europe, you only have to look around the major companies here to find out that they are no longer owned by the British. Even common water self. Thames water Landrover Jaguar Ford EDF QE2 bridge (no longer Govt owned as it was sold a few years ago) Most of the British Gold Various Infrastructure projects (Channel tunnel) Various properties (Who owns the Excel centre) So London/UK is an international city/country, that's why it thrives despite the fact that it hardly manufactures anything, Europe or lets say Germany on the other hand manufactures a lot, and it needs to sell/export, you only need to look at the number of German cars being sold to the UK every year, or the amount of food French farmers sell to the UK. What messed up the whole thing was the Lisbon treaty and the fact that countries from the Eastern block were allowed in, what it meant was lower skilled people felt threatened, thier wages were cut, thier communities became too saturated as immigrants from EU countries were more likely to settle in such areas. The locals felt intimidated, all thier shops closed and instead you had Polish supermarkets, their kids couldn't get access to schools and doctors appointments, buses became full, trains full and they just felt like a visitor in their own country. The likes of Germany were happy with the expansion of the EU, it allowed them to lower wages and hence become a manufacturing country, keep costs down and compete with China. On the other hand, most of the poorer southern European countries and Eastern European countries were encouraged to buy luxury German products such as cars, this was good for Germany in 2 ways 1) It was able to export its goods/services. 2) It was able to offer cheap money/loans to these countries to buy its goods. This was very much the case with Greece. If the original EU founding countries remained thesame without any expansion, I dont think there would be Brexit, the purchasing power of member citizens would be very close, you cannot compare Romania to the UK, but you can compare Germany to the UK GDP wise, you can also compare France/Holland to the UK, but not Bulgaria. I was also shocked during the campaign when some Nigerians/non EU people were pro Brexit, because they thought the EU people had it easy, whilst they had to struggle to stand on their feet, one question for them. The Pro Brexit people like former UKIP leader Nigel Farage, do you think he wants Nigerians to flood the UK because of Brexit, or will he welcome Nigerians with open arms, if so why get into bed with him ? What does the future hold ? Its a really hard one, but with Theresa May at the helm, she is a tough operator and the kind of person that can deal with Juncker/Schultz/Tusk. Closer to any negotiations, I see the pound falling, so a good time to go long on the dollar and short sterling. I see a deal being done, however that deal will have a caveat, the mood in France is that of exiting the EU, most French people dont like it, but they just have to accept it. Thier leaders will not call a referendum unless the National Front of France start to make some serious gains. There may not be free movement of labour/people, but potentially a work permit system. Brexit will not kill off immigration, it may just stem it. Some of the Brexit promises will not be delivered, however I get angry when I read or hear people running down the country. Remember, once upon a time it was a massive Kingdom and the biggest in the world. Its just that time/events have overtaken it. My 2 cents. 1 Like |

EgunMogaji:yeh I just listed High End cars, there are loads more cheaper ones made as well, like the Humble fords and Vauxhall, but U know Brexit wont affect these. They must agree to disagree, nah we just dey break head for nothing. If you want to know the UK got it right, just google pictures from the French UK border ,channel tunnel, that will tell you loads. |

I think you and Egun are more or less on the same level, as far as I am concerned. What I mean is that you and Egun are neither my friend nor my enemy. We just express our opinions on a faceless forum, so dont take anything personal mate. And I think you should mind your business about the fake approval. You seem to be fighting everybody like a lost/angry hunters dog looking for his bone/bait. Whatever I do with my 400k is my business, after all I didnt collect money from you to pay Bosun for what was supposed to be an original approval. So no point in starting that. Anyway, got more important things to be doing/replying to. agarawu23: 3 Likes |

mavverick:Well I have read all you wrote and I will agree with you,,I think the Uk people are just vexed o n Immigration thats all nothing much nothing less,if they can control immigration from the Eu,i think the govt of the day has done its Job, I like your analysis on producing and buying, this was another reason the Uk thought they where short changed and guess china are happy now too. On a final note take a look at both ends of the Chanel tunnel the Kent End and teh french end, check where the crowd is.The uk is getting very populated and thier facilities and services cannot cope. |

EgunMogaji:No be small thing oh,People bring in like 10 kids from the Eu,claim benefit for all and return 9 of them back home and continue to claim same benefit,Until the govt curbed the practice by a simple school attendance rule.I think the Uk people are very tolerant, try that in France or Italy, OYO |

Apparently no benefits in France and most other developed EU countries. A french friend of mine told me that in France if any EU person bring 10kids then you are on your own. I have see TV programs where a Romanian person is claiming bags of cash here for kids that are not even here, the problem is that benefits due to UK people is also due to EU people, they cannot discriminate benefits. If you were Theresa May, what would you do to get out of this hole ? erico2k2: |

mavverick:Wel control immigration regards benefits the first takes care of it however they have dealt with he issue already by limiting the number of kids you can claim for to two and they must attend school, we know the money received is next to nothing, its from hand to mouth. These are the only two she needs to concentrate on.Everything else can assume same status as the swiz do. Bear this in mind, now we have Brexit, lets see if the Turks are still going to push 4ward in joining the EU. |
