Hello house! Pls I need clarification on these. .

1) is it a must to get a return ticket when going for a 3months visa? Can getting a one way ticket pose a problem?

2) if one gets a return ticket and gets a job while in dubai during 3months visit and d company offered to change the visa status what happens to d return ticket?

3) and how feasible is airport to airport transit within uae (oman etc) during visa change wen valid return ticket to nigeria exist?

Cc @justi4jes.u, @halimacurv.e, @sam.jay,@natty.banty and other gurus in the house

tanx..anticipating a response..

1.) No one will allow you board without a return ticket to Nigeria, so return ticket is a must when travelling with vist/tourist visa. You can only book one way ticket if you are coming with Employment visa at hand or you already have a Residence/Work visa stamped on your passport.

2.) Once you get a job and decide not to return back to nigeria, then the return ticket is gone for good. No two ways about it. It's either you use it and return back to Nigeria or you forfeit and stay back with your new Job.

3.) Your valid return ticket to Nigeria doesn't concern Oman immigration, you cannot go to Oman without having Employment visa or Residence visa. Even with Employment visa you are only allowed at the airport for entry and exit stamp, and afterwards you are taken back to Dubai.

Abu Dhabi is a bit smaller than Dubai, a bit quieter and more traditional perhaps, but other than that the lifestyle seems the same. Depends on your kind of person, If you are more of an introvert or an extrovert because Dubai shouts at you 24 hours a day, lights blinking and advertising sign boards try to lure you in with their glitzy, shiny façade. The traffic is heavier than in Abu Dhabi and constantly races, in short the pulse of the city rarely slows or misses a beat. Dubai is switched on and fully charged all the timeeeeee.

There are Job opportunities in both cities, i can't say which is easier

Dubai has Metro as a means of cheaper transportation while Abu Dhabi got only buses.

2.) No penalty at all if you get a job and decide not to return to Nigeria, all you have to do is CHANGE STATUS and get your employment visa inside Dubai which attracts and amount of 1,030 Dirhams

If you had taken time to read few pages back then you wouldn't ask for step by step guidelines because someone here already took his time to explain all it takes.

Abu Dhabi is a bit smaller than Dubai.

While this seems like the truth based on people's general perception, especially those living in Dubai I will like to clarify this misconception.

The fact is that Abu Dhabi is the largest emirate in the UAE however Dubai is the most populous with the highest population density and possibly the largest population which I seriously doubt.

During my induction at a Government owned organisation we were told that Abu Dhabi occupies more than 70% of the UAE total land mass. An article in wikipedia stated 86% while many other sources states above 80%. This is very visible in the UAE map.

Abu Dhabi is the richest emirates in the UAE with about 95% of the oil and 92% of the gas deposits in the country. They have about 9% of the world proven oil reserves and about 5% of the natural gas with most of them in the Western Region. In 2009, Abu Dhabi offered a $10 billion bail out to Dubai and by 2014 Dubai was indebted to them by $20 billion. Abu Dhabi has land borders with Saudi Arabia and Oman; and sea border with Qatar.

Most times when people assess the emirate of Abu Dhabi they mostly judge by Abu Dhabi main city leaving out lots of it's suburbs, Islands and regions which has lots of people living and working there eg Mussafah; Western Region aka Al Gharbia (Madinat Zayed, Bu Hasa, Al Gayathi, Tarrif, Gweifat, Liwa, Ruwais, etc); Baniyas (Al Wathba, Al Mafraq etc); Islands (Reem, Saadiyat, Yas etc). It will be worthy to note that Al Ain is also a part of Abu Dhabi and is known as the Eastern region.

Abu Dhabi has three municipality regions:
1)Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADM)
2)Al Ain City Municipality
3)Western Region Municipality (Al Gharbia) (WRM)

kai!!! this one you unearth here don pass encyclopedia britanica........moreover i believe justi was comparing the two cities in terms of the hustle and bustling and the availability of readily available jobs with metro's and good city life not their land mass.......my brother which hustler cares about land mass when we are talking about getting a good paying job before 3 months visa elapse and remember the money i borrow come dey count days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
