@Helovesme, I don't think the celebrated imported coconut oil is the best oo, I rather would said she should get naija original coconut oil. If you can get one from the maker hersef you can be sure it's not mix. Or rather make it yourself, easy thing.

My dear. The "celebrated" imported coconut oil is the best.

It is organic, extra virgin and "cold pressed". Please read up on this method of oil extraction. The imported original coconut is clear and colourless - just like water. In cold temperature, after solidification, it's "pure white" in colour.

The Nigerian coconut oil on the other hand is home made. A process that involves "boiling the coconut"/using heat. This means that most of its nutrients is gone. In addition to this, it has a funny yellowish/brownish colour. Once it solidifies, the colour is even worse.

Except the Nigerian one is made using the cold press method, then you are not getting the maximum benefits or coconut oil in its purest form.

For question : in summary....Plaster the wound! grin

The idea is to keep the area from getting wet. Try and get water proof dressing and apply to the area and bath as normal..... na bucket or shower sharp baffing no seating in the tub bubble bath serenren!.

Alternatively, if you can get the medical tape.... the type that looks like cellotape to create your own dressing.. Pop some cotton pads over the unhealed part and use cling film on top and tape around the clingfilm edges to seal and make watertight. Remove after bath!

Question 2: abstain or use condom till you decide which one you think is best for you! ..... ;Dsorry... not very helpful! grin

Cotton pads...
Cling film...
Medical tape...
GOT IT!!!

Thanks ma'am...

Thanks for checking up on me sweetie, it hasn't been well at all. I had episiotomy and it broke down. I didn't know, I have been in severe pains.
I can't sit, sleep, walk, eat, carry my ds, I've lost weight. The pain is from hell mehn!
I've gone back to see d gynae, he had to remove d stitches. The wound is so wide and deep. I'm doing sitz bath with warm water and salt. Dh said d wound is healing. I'm supposed to be going for dressing every 2 days but no one to leave my baby for. Dh can't handle him and mum goes to work.
So sorry for your pains, to relieve it when sitted roll up a big towel like you do for oshuka place it on the chair and sit with your legs apart! This help ease your weight off your bum and also allows air in.
For the bolded please don't miss your dressing to avoid infection! You don't want to add that to what you are going thru already, you can go with your baby and leave him with the nurses or DH goes with you just to keep an eye on your baby while you do the dressing. Please its very important the dressing is done as stipulated to avoid a further degeneration.
I went with my son for my own dressing on days there was none to care for him at home. Eat lots of fruits, vitamin C aids in healing and will soften your stool so you dont have to strain.
Take care of you dear it will be behind you soon.

Good evening mamas...
Mbok, I have a few questions... Please, help me...

1...... How do CS moms bathe after the surgery? My hospital said not to pour water on my body till the incision heals... They said to use face towel, water, soap and savlon to clean my body... And then clean the incision site with cotton wool and spirit...

I'm 3weeks pp already, but there's still a part of the incision that isn't healed completely yet (on the far right)...

I'm tayad...
I want to baff...
Ahnahn

2..... Please, what form of birth control/family planning method is advisable/best?
I want to look into it 6 weeks pp, cos my body is already doing me "sonha" and I don't want to "do" and now hear stories that touch...

Please, come to my rescue mamas...
Thank you...

As per CS tinz, I don't really know much o. Even though I had an ovarian cyst removed once and I have a CS-like scar from it, I can't really remember how I managed. But like other mamas have said, tape it and have your bath as desired, I can imagine how you feel not being able to pour water on your body as you like.

As for kpekusing, like zaynie said, wear 'rainkot' until you can go to the family planning clinic to get the one that suits your body. grin

I took my first bath after 3 months embarassed lipsrsealed fear of what may go wrong no gree me baff! It was just cleaning of body with towel that I did till late February when my plasters came off! Since then I respect bathing and all other little things I take for granted before( though mine was two scars)

Like one mama wrote up there use a cling film with tapes to form a shield before bathing or just endure it till the wound is properly healed.

Second question no idea na commando levels I dey! But the patch seem to be a very preferred option! You can ask your doctor about it.

There are sources that make cold pressed coconut oil in lagos.
I can send you details of one if you want. Can be made to order, crystal clear , delicate coconut fragrance with no heat or presevatives used.

I did a pt-strip test and it was negative. I will just have to wait after 17th of this month. The symptoms are still there.

beyedew,

You dey very correct. Even if she no dey controlling. Man should leave parents home if he ready marry. Even if Na one room he enter. So no going back to father's house. Find the right atmosphere to explain to your dh. If it doesn't work, get pastor or who he respects to advise him. On your path una too dey discuss everything with mil. She no suppose know about una building plans till she comes for house warming. Try putting gap btw in-laws and u without quarrel. That's the only way the controlling will end and hope una no dey ask them for financial things etc?
I also don't agree with you and dh settling quarrels in her presence. And next time just forgive him in advance than letting ur in laws into ur disagreement and manage whatever u can get dh to give u, stop doing coup with mil against dh. Babe Na u let all these loop holes in. Be more one with your husband my love,(not to move in with in laws), no discuss dh with mil again I beg. You no sabi how to give person loving gap? Make I teach u?

Thanks senior lovinam. Pls is there anything else I can do apart from the sitz bath. I still can't sit down and I don't want it to be re-stitched.

you can try seating on a hot water bottle wrapped in towels. It shouldnt be too hot but i found the warmth helped me.

Or you can use a doughnut cushion to sit on (it is usually used for elderly people with bad cases of pile so mot sure where you can find in naija) alternatively use the round breast feeding pillow as a seat cushion..... that way you are not putting pressure on the main area. I had the long pregnancy pillow so i just rolled it up to have a hole in the middle and sat on it. .

@Enkay, you don't bath for two weeks after CS cos you must not allow water to touch that area. Note;

You use soap and warm water to mop your body (leave out the operated area, don't touch with soap or water).

Taking care of the operated area, all you need do is soak your cotton wool in the spirit and wipe ones to your right and drop the piece, then pick another and wipe to your left and drop, repeat same like thrice. Don't use same cotton wool to wipe to your left and right. Do this like four to six times a day. Reason for this is that it get healed fast and it's also to avoid germs.

This is how my consultant thought me/us.

Good luck.

@ esof1, am really sorry about the pains, pls like other mama's suggested, take care of that place to avoid infection, go back to the doctor and find a better solution to it.

@beyedew, I can imagine how you feel sometimes, Controlling MIL hmm, just talk to ur DH and try to convince him, because if you decide to go to ur parents house while DH goes ahead and stays in their family house... Hmm Babe na big wahala ooo... So just talk to him sensibly. Wish u all the best.

I also have an open eye MIL but my DH knows his mum so much and he is the stubborn type, so she don't come to our house to do her open eye, but she does that to her 1st son. The wife is always complaining whenever I visit her.
