Now, this is a bargain!

Pogba's acquisition is beyond what he offers on the football pitch. Woodward is a PwC trained accountant and ex-JP Morgan asset manager, you think say him and the finance team never checkout the deal?

Pogba's signing is a statement signing, gone are the days when Madrid go out bid and bully us. Fans should be happy that the Glazer family are readily spending on player acquisition.

The Dutch dude you mentioned cannot tie Pogba's boots in terms of global outreach and revenue generation. I trust dem Woodward boys to milk "the return of the prodigal son" theme and make some solid revenue.

Make them spend the money jare!

before de brunye was bought for that price by city he had a good stats and season at buyern Liga. Bonucci hasn't been signed yet by any club, as got sterling I agree his signing fee was outrageous. Pogba is good but he is overrated and overpriced. I usually refer to him as strong oscar of Chelsea with style and flip.
If Pogba is overrated then Griezmann is as well.

Valencia was signed by ferguson because of his EFFECTIVENESS and DIRECTNESS from the RW during his time at wigan!

You can peruse some classic matches on you tube to confirm this! Even in his 1st season at man united he was actually quite solid on the RW and was hailed as a successor to ronaldo and was even given the number 7 jersey for a short period before he ran away from the responsibility of wearing it!

Even his most productive season in which he gave rooney countless assists that ensured that rooney finished with 30 plus goals that season was played with him on the RW and not RIGHTBACK!

Ever since he had one serious leg break a few years back he lost it! He is the sole reason why we are going for a new right back! He is limited in that position! VALENCIA IS A RW through and through (google him) he is just currently a poor RW and an average) RB...

As for young, he uses both feet and has played well on both the right and the left for both watford, aston villa and finally united!

His problem just seems to be that he has no idea of the kind of player he wants to be! Influential or pathetic? 1st teamer or benchwarmer? Skillful or wasteful?

I've given up on him for like 4 years sef so na him sabi! But VALENCIA shall not get a pass!

i understand where you are coming from but what Valencia did in Wigan is gone, apart from the season he assisted Rooney score about 30 goals Valencia has declined in his productivity. Maybe because of his injury as you alluded to which then agrees with my submission that he aint exactly what we need at RW now.

we need a far more consistent player than Valencia on the RW if we going to play him there, Valencia IMHO is frustrating playing there.

You answered the question about Young, i agree he had done well both in RW and LW, but i still feel he is a better player from the LW. young has played RW,LW,RB,LB, CF etc. maybe we should cut him some slack because he plays wherever the coach ask him to play, and we are loaded in the LW position. Martial, Young, Depay and even Janujaz.

if we are going to play specialist in their positions, these guys just dont cut it, they would only be second choices.

when you see a Ribery, Lewandowsky and Robben or a Neymar, Suarez and Messi or a Ronaldo, Benzema and Bale in there prime coming at your defence, any team will really know they have their work cut out and this is what we intend to or aspire to be after suffering from LVG and Moyes era.

With Mourinho we seem to be getting there with Martial, Ibrahimovich and Mkhitaryan, only we have to wait to see if its going to be effective like we hope it would be.

i want to have that confidence when we had Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez leading our line.

since when Madrid & thrifty start to enter the same sentence?

The Circumstances under which Di Maria (who was one of the best players in the world) left the club readily comes to mind...

Pray tell - can we say Madrid couldn't afford to pay for De Gea outrightly, instead of offering cash plus Navas?

Gareth Bale's protracted transfer also comes to mind - Madrid waited till the closing hours of The transfer window before paying up.

That time wey dem bin go pay peanuts for kroos (who has/is way better as Central Midfielder)....was it because they couldn't afford the money wey Juve bin dey quote that year for Pogba ?

Before the transfer window shuts, watch them "force" James Rodriguez on a helpless club for a huge amount cheesy

SailorXY:

When Madrid were constant second-rounders like Arsenal currently is you don forget how much them spend to reach where them dey now?

That was why I made this statement in my previous post..

Dademola:

Gone are the days when Madrid dey flex financial muscles unneccesarily...

SailorXY:

They are not reclaiming nothing, good for them BUT Manchester United want to reclaim something so it's not magic cash must be spent.

The thing is the spending will continue UNTIL it's obvious the club has gotten it right.

Pogba is overpriced & overrated for now, you'll find no arguments.

The more reason why I'd rather we strive as much as possible to spend sensibly.

Yeah, all transfers na risk but for me, this Pogba own na massive, massive gamble wey no dey neccesary, I swear!

SailorXY:

My only concern in this particular deal is the fact that we will be pissing in Madrid's face for the second straight year running.

Man nothing beats that to me undecided

While we have been "pissing into Madrid's face", they have won the CL twice in the last 3 years & the club is still the richest in the world.

I hope the purchase of Pogba (if it happens) benefits the club immensely.

However, in the last 2 seasons, the money invested in the club hasn't been commensurate with the achievement in that same period. In light of this, skepticism isn't outta place whenever big money is about to be spent on player(s) that are clearly overpriced & over-hyped (as in pogba's case).

Like I said earlier, I just hope Mourihno knows what he's doing!

Are you saying Pogba is twice as good as Bonucci? Or De Bruyne?

The way I rate that Bonucci, no be small o. De Bruyne could be created with the reason City eventually did well in the UCL.

How exactly is Pogba a Ferrari in this context?

Is he single-handedly gonna win us games & post extraordinary stats like Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez, Neymar etc?

Is he a clone of Xavi, Zidane, Vieira, Pirlo & Makelele who is sure to deliver virtuosic performances synonymous with the aforementioned players?

I am pretty certain that Mourihno wasn't given a blank Cheque - a particular amount must have been earmarked for transfers this summer & it seems a large percentage of it would be spent on a 23year old drama queen who hasn't even peaked yet.

I hope the Portuguese knows what he is doing.

Bruh - This your "self-consolation" get as e be oh....

Gone are the days when Madrid dey flex financial muscles unneccesarily...

As them get money reach, e even be like say na dem dey thrifty pass when it comes to the purchase of players, salary negotiations & all - unlike Man Utd, they aren't desperate to reclaim any lost glory.

If we sign Pogba, Mourihno had better win the league or at worst - finish in 2nd place (with some acceptable excuses ofcourse).

P.s. : Winning the F.A cup (or the Europa league) would be a manageable compensation for a 2nd place finish.

At the end of the day, Mourinho would tell you he didn't over spend because he got a world class striker for free. On the aggregate, he will have done well in his spending.

Madrid has been doing great business.
that buy back clause in Morata's contract is brilliant.
dude could've easily gone for 50million in today's market.

am glad pogba is here,he is young and hopefully hasn't peaked yet.
Juventus will find it very difficult to replace him at a reasonable price,or buy new players at bargain price.

Na so e go be. Very good and effective. But slow af!!

But this 1 na player and na 100mill. And sure United get the money. But the transfer just no mke any sense

I don't even know why jose never tell that fellani to waka sef! But rojo even though a bit average would be nice to have as a bench warmer since he can also deputise as a "left back or central defender" in times of an injury crises! He is on small wages sef so that one won't be a problem!

All these "make-sense" talks now is simple & I already gave you the reason; Madrid are where they want to be, United is not.

When we start featuring in UCL semis constantly & grabbing a couple to boot, come back let's review our net spends.

When Ronaldo is done & dusted, still come back let's review Madrid spendings.

As I hate Fellaini reach, I think we would need him in some Physically intense games..

For me, Rojo can Bleep off to Barnsley or Cardiff - Blind would take his place as the versatile benchwarmer (the assumption is that Smallin/Bailey partnership would be our 1st choice CB pairing)
