obailala: You should be telling us how the same airport built with state funds and should still be owned by the state is now owned by the FG. What happened? The state sold the airport to the FG or the FG just sent the military to Imo state to commandeer the airport and made it a FG airport? 1 Like |

Igbo population is quite huge, and people who truly know understand that the lgbo constitute the single largest ethnic nation in Nigeria.Much has been made about how this so called"small" lgbo land space could accommodate the vast lgbo population. But people also forget that lgbo land accommodated lgbo who fled from everywhere else in 1967. So,the question of whether lgbo land is large enough to contain the lgbo is a non-issue.in any case,Biafra is not only the land of the lgbo.it goes far beyond lgbo land. But even for the sake of building scenarios,we stick to lgbo land alone-the great lgbo cities of Enugu, port-Harcourt,owerri,Aba,onitsha,Asaba,Abakaliki, Umuahia, awka and onitsha are yet to reach even 30% of their capacities. New arteries can be built, facilities expanded, there are innovative ways of moving population through New transportation platforms-underneath,above,on the surface, and by waterways .The East of Nigeria has one of the most complex and connected, and largely disused system of natural river waterways in the world.New,ecologically habitable towns can be expanded to form New cities from the grade A Town ships -Agbor,Obiaruku,Aboh,Oguta,Mgbidi,Orlu,Ihiala,Amobia/Ekwuluobia,Elele/Ahoada,Owerrinta,Bonny As a,Arochukwu,Afikpo,Okigwe, and so on.The lgbo will be fine. The Japanese and the Dutch, for example, have proved that there are innovative ways of using constricted space. 2 Likes |

The most important resources is human resources. For instance at least 20 million people live in the SE who including children, can afford to pool N100 a day on average together. What does this mean? It means the SE can be making 2 people naira billionaires everyday to infinity, non stop! That is more than 700 naira billionaires a year and this does not in any way affect any other thing. One billion naira investment can yield 300 million naira a year. 500 people can be working in each one and that will go on to infinity. That is how nations are built. The worst calamity that can happen to the SE is for the population to reduce to 1 million, the second worse is for nobody to think along this line, the third worst is for Igbos to for one reason or the other refuse to support the disintegration of Nigeria for this plan to be executable. |

Read the first 10 comments again and tell me how possible it is for the members of the National Assembly to contribute millions of naira monthly or annually for the cause. Let's ourselves this question, will you do that as individual? It is easier to pass the buck to the next guy while trying to maintain a cosmetic innocence. I shout it from the rooftop *it is impossible for these dudes to do that* When I read this post, it made so much sense that my adrenaline rushed with hope and anticipation. However I reasoned that if these honorables are not able to lobby, make contacts, propose deals, shout on top of their voices etc to ensure that Port Harcourt road in Aba, Enugu-PH expressway, Enugu-Awka, and other dilapidated Federal roads are repaired, then nobody would see their Kobo as contribution for a better southeast. Let them continue to sleep there; the sleeping giants. More so, let it be known that Nigeria is operating on selective implementation of the Federal character. If someone who scores 8 is admitted into Unity school because he is from Gombe state and someone who scores 130 is denied the admission because he is from Anambra, then any foreign partner coming to develop the southeast would be directed to the Northeast instead. Nevertheless, for this proposal to see the light of the day, true federalism must have been in practice at least 3yrs before the bourgeoisie class would key into it. All we need is Myraid Advocacy for Youth Orientation and Reorientation (MAYOR). Haters ngwanu time to 'finish' me 2 Likes |

aresa:The terms of transfer of ownership of the airport are unknown to me, that isn't what this discussion is all about. The point here is simple and indisputable, Sam Mbakwe Airport Owerri (a.k.aImo State Airport) is the first state built airport in Nigeria. |

In my own opinion. From a BIAFRA point of view. (1)Building a seaport in Bayelsa (2)Constructing an International airport in Enugu, Calabar and Bayelsa. (3)Tapping into the coalmines in Enugu for Power Generation and Road construction. (4)Building a World class University in Delta state and reviving the rest(UNN, Futo, Unizik, Unical, etc.) to international standard (5) Constructing a railway system that will span across all state(Bayelsa--Edo--Delta--Anambra--Imo--Abia--PH--Enugu--Ebonyi--Cross_river--Akwa_Ibom.) For passenger and goods. (6)Tapping into our rich soil for effective Agro-Based production. through Mechanized farming. (7)Providing SME(small & medium enterprises) Loans to our people. (Improving security through state police, Effective Military (Army, Air force, Navy). and good paramilitary (Civil defense, Customs, Immigration, Prisons etc) (9)Tapping into our Natural resources (Coal, Crude oil, Granite) for revenue generation. (10)Attracting investors both local and international. Its only a dream, but I believe we will all live to see it. God bless BIAFRA. |

aresa:Lol.. very amusing as you keep turning simple logic on its head. It is on record that the airport was built by a state government using state funds; whatever agreement or deal which was struck later for the FG to take over the airport is inconsequential. What matters is that the airport was originally built by the state government using Imo state funds, unlike other airports across the country at the time which were clearly built by the FG. We can go on and on, but facts are sacred and cannot be changed. |

Adaure4ever: Your idea would had been more brilliant, if you had left the Polithiefians out of it, incase you don't know, they are the ones who destroyed not just SE but the whole of Nigeria, and are still at it. Now a better plan, let the same account be created and faithful people be put in place of affairs over the account and the actualisation of the Development projects. Then, let all Idi-Igbos contribute a certian amount, monthly,, it may range from N1,000 - N10,000. But... In this present economy, with everyone trying to atleast feed themselves so they see the next day, it would be hard to acheive, also the greed of man would not allow because those who would be running the account will loot the money for theirselves, rather than using it apporprately. Anyways, lets be positive, and atleast give it a try |
Re: How To Develop South East Nigeria To An International Standard. by aresa: 6:27pm On Jul 24, 2016 |
obailala: It was never turned over to anybody unless you have any handover documentation to back it up with. It was a FG airport from begining till now. You can not even give us any sane and rational reason why a state airport magically turned into a FG airport. Osun is building an international aiport from scratch, but it's never going to be a FG airport. jigawa state built the best state airport so far and it remains a state airport and so it shall remain. So please tell us why it's a different story with imo airport and why a state airport is turned into a FG airport. Even if it was a state airport which it's not, why was it turned over to the FG? Because the folks in the SE are too lazy, clueless and incompetent to manage a small village airport? 3 Likes |

@aresa, aint u d tinubu guy? Ive never seen your mentor come out openly to insult a tribe/culture so where did u learn this from? Im sure u r matured, so even if someone says something wrong to u, you should in your maturity b able to reply with wisdom n calm the situation. N by d way, did u really come into d thread to spit on d discussions, cos last time I checked, t was about SOUTH EAST. #apology if I offended u with what I wrote# Back to the matter, Ive seen guys postulating the train idea. Cant wait to c that happen, na to just use one weekend travel.round SE on train. Please, why isnt anyone talking about d waterways or r they not accessible? Is there a reason why Ebonyi people cant establish major agric-based companies like Anambrarians r currently doing? Is there a reason why Abians cant organize Aba to look like the new Onitsha? (Considering d old onitsha n d new one) Is there a reason why Imolites cant go back to d clean n green philosophy of few years back which made d state abi na d capital d neatest in d whole Nigeria? Is there a reason why none of d state universities can b fully upgraded, even if t means higher tuition? We can start from.somewhere #S.E must be GREAT# |

Adaure4ever: I admire you and I love the passion you express for your region even if some of your ideas are utopian. I have seen some of your previous threads and I agree the answer to our problems is not Biafra. Those agitating for Biafra should look at South Sudan. If we can not make the SE enviable while in Nigeria, there are no guarantees we would do any better if we had our own country. Cos We would still have same leaders - carry-overs from Nigeria. I would rather have the Biafra agitators channel their energies to compel our Governors/leaders to be accountable and lead us well. All that's required it's to have leaders (like you) who are sincere, passionate and have the interest of the people at heart. Every other thing would fall in place. As it's often said where there's a will, there's a way. God bless |
