CSTR12: America and Europe practice a mixed economy. There are too many social safety nets that calling them capitalists countries is laughable. The only country that practices 100% capitalism is Somalia. |

36xtr39r:My guy do not listen to a Hausa man for anything, I grew up in the core north and believe me if all regions were to develop at their pace without help from the center the Yorubas will gap the Hausas by miles. You should just study and understand the nature of the different major tribes with an open mind. 2 Likes |

Correctly, there's no rivalry or hatred between Yoruba and Igbo. Igbo is envious of Yoruba political power and rulership and is desirable of gaining a similar power for itself. The problem is Ibo believes it is self sufficient and can grab this power on its own independent of sponsorship by the powerful Yoruba. Therefore at every turn Yoruba changes and redefines the political value chain resulting in intrigues Ibos find hard to comprehend. They thus outlash in frustration that Yoruba is betraying them. The sooner Ibo can be exiled back to its ancestral roots in Congo the better for everybody left in Nigeria. 3 Likes 1 Share |

CSTR12: Not in the West, I am referring to an official cultural endorsement of cannibalism not some random madman here and there. You can convince me otherwise with new proof. |

kayfra:Now you are bringing up a different issue. Ofcourse , any sane country would have safety nets for the vulnerable and the poor. Iit dosen't make them less capitalistic. The richest brands some of them owned in the world are in america. Some of them are owned by single individuals or families. America's defence industry is not even in the hands of the state. APPLE corporation founded by one man steve jobs at a certain point had more raw cash in its disposal than the US government. You can never be more capitalistic than that. 7 Likes |

stonemasonn: You've just made half sense. Let me agree with you that the Igbos are clannish, which BTW in my judgment is not bad. However, why will Igbos change there ways? Is it just because you said so, and if that is the case who are you to counsel us? How has being clannish prevented Igbos from making great exploits. Well, at least if you must know every tribe, race, or people on this planet earth has something good or bad about them and if being clannish makes us bad SO BE IT! 6 Likes |

kayfra: This is hilarious indeed! It's an open secret that inspite of the supposed superior education of the Yorubas they seem not to be detached from ritual-killings and cannibalism. And that's why evil forests pervade Yoruba enclave. In the SE the popular Okija shrine is not up to a local government area but in the SW a whole 2 States are dedicated to wicked deities - Ogun and Osun. Till date many Yorubas rarely believe that one can achieve success without recourse to rituals. The notoriety of the Yoruba nation in this regard warranted a Kenyan to go into a research and was able to come up with a verdict that Yorubas are the most fetish tribe in Africa. 9 Likes |

CSTR12: But fact remains that America practices a mixed economy. Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Obamacare, Section 8, WIC (food stamps), farm subsidies etc etc too many to list. You find both system in the West. The east is just more dogged with their capitalism compared to other regions in Nigeria. It's both a strength and a weakness. |

kayfra:A mixed economy as practiced by america is not the kind you are trying to emphasize. Creating aid packages for the vulnerable does not make them less capitalistic. Capitalism is part of the american psyche The east also has a similar socialistic programes for the poor. Imo state runs a free university courtesy of okorocha(i don't want to go into feasibility), other governors in the east have been known to give out LOANS. That is the kind of socialistic program i support anyway. America gives free money to the poor, but that is because they can now afford to. Capitalism has created a lot of rich folks who can then be taxed by the state to cater for the poor. Nigeria is not rich enough. Our socialistic program which we can not afford anyway is not productive. 1 Like |

CSTR12: I thought our conversation was more driven by historical precedence than anything else. In 2016, one would expect each state to adopt elements of all economic systems that are beneficial. But that part of our culture that gave us our unique identities predates the exploration of the white man. That is what I am talking about. How Yoruba and Igbo are not rivals by any word. Just people with different mindsets and orientations. America will always crow about capitalism since they like to pretend like they invented it. Nobody is doubting the merits of capitalism, hell, I am a capitalist myself. But let's not pretend like the system on its own is not dog eat dog. I gave you Somalia aa a pure capitalist country example. Capitalism without aspects of socialism usually turns to a failed society. |

joborskill: There is NO rivalry between Igbos and yorubas. Fact is: the Igbos are Superior to the yorubas. the World knows it. About southern unity, forget it. the SW must sojourn alone in the political wilderness they created for themselves. When eventually, they return to join their southern brothers, they would have lost all respect and would be an outcast. 6 Likes |

[s] 36xtr39r:[/s] Stop referring to the yoruba's as ritualist. Everyone in nigeria know cannibalism originated in the east. The evil okija shrine and the ritual sacrifice of the disbanded bakasi boys have no match. The only case of ritual killings reported in the SW is the discovery of soka forest in ibadan and the governor ordered the closure and arrest of the culprits. Yoruba's are not canines who munch human flesh. You igbos should look inward |

[s] joborskill:[/s] You must be living in a fool's paradise to dare paint a juju-infested people in bright colours. It's no longer news that Yorubaland is notorious for human parts business, with the headquarters situated in Soka Evil Forest, Ibadan. There's virtually no week that passes by without Yorubas being caught in ritual-killings and cannibalism. It's not out of place to aver that Yorubas are the most fettish, juju-dented beings in the world. Yorubas shamelessly deploy juju and fetish charms at work, office, play, church, market, school, marriage and everywhere. Copied and modified# Following the discovery of Soka Evil Forest in Ibadan, other ritualists dens in different forms were discovered across Yorubaland. A ritualist den was discovered by a fly-over bridge at Ewekoro LGA on Abeokuta expressway. Another baby factory was discovered at Adigbe also in Abeokuta, same goes for a baby factory at Akute in Ifo LGA of Ogun state, these baby factories are sometimes the “BLACK MARKET” for ritualists who either has money to cough out or the lily livered among them who dread the fear of the long arm of the law as well as jungle justice in the event they got nabbed for kidnap. Just when we thought we had seen and heard enough of this barbarism the news media was awashed with another news of another SOKA in Ado-Odo Ota LGA and Ifo LGA. It's a pity and unfortunate that you can't twist the hard facts in the public domain to suit your narratives now: Yorubaland is the undisputed world capital of ritual-killings and cannibalism! 1 Like |

Aigbofa: LoL....... Abi o jare!!!...........................And they probably will given half the chance. They hate the northerners too who pogromised their sorry ar....ses which led to ojukwu making one of his infamous speeches that "once you have crossed this (imaginary) line, you are home safe" but now they are all over the same north like locusts. But when one points this out to them they are quick to mention, in their usual delusion of grandeur defence, chinese, American and british businessmen trooping to nigeria looking for investments. As if, all the occupants of myriad ekene dili chukwu buses landing in different parts of yorubaland, every day are all businessmen/investors. Or how many "chinese businessmen" have they witnessed running between traffic in the hot scorching mid-day sun in lagos selling cds from cardboard boxes? 4 Likes 1 Share |
