allCopacetic: You are right boss, 70% of the houses in this country will be affected because of the fake marials. A lot things is rellay affecting building services these and most people are looking for cheap materials and labour. I can not imagine an electrician looped 3 Air condition on a circuit using 2.5mm cable and giving guarantee that there will be no problem it will work. They have started experiencing serious problem less than 2weeks of handling over. I visited the place and submitted my report to the client. I condemned the whole electrical installation. How can electrician use 2.5mm cable to power 3nos of 1 .5hp AC? See connection inside the ceilng void. Client want to save money but end up spend more(tripple) 1 Share

Pad Lock vs. Double Cylinder Deadbolt Lock So, I'm still at the fencing and gate stage and would like the houses opinion on the locks to use. I hate fumbling with padlocks at the pedestrian and car gates. Has anyone used double cylinder deadbolt locks for both of those entry points? I know these locks are readily available. 1 Like |

spyder880:Baba mi, i wish it was just a simple matter of packaging. But it's alot more complex than that. It's very easy to package any cable to look EXACTLY like any of the major brands in the country. Even in hand you'll be hard pressed to tell, let alone mere pictures. There are even imported ones with the name clearly engraved on the insulator but slightly misspelled .... For instance there is Nigershin, Nigershine, and Nigerchine ( instead of Nigerchin) There is also Coman, Colman and I think a few others(instead of Coleman) There is also the issue of coils containing original cables inside, but with the length altered and recoiled. If you are able to acertain the brand name on the insulator how do you verify the length? You cannot possibly measure all the cables and they know this. So dem go wait for you make you do all your inspector gadget finish....... Then finish you with mixing when it's time to supply. My advice to any buyer is... avoid all this headache, risks and uncertainty and buy from the manufacturer or (to save more money) from a " verified" distributor.... better still, request that he supply you from the factory if in doubt (that way you still get it directly from the manufacturer but at a lower cost) Personally i prefer to supply customers directly from the factory when the quantity is reasonable. it keeps the customer assured of what he is getting, absolves the seller of any foul play, and no quack can come and cry wolf because he didn't do the buying. 1 Like 2 Shares |

msogunro: I've only done this setup before (openable from one side only). The gate only open from inside using the deadbolt lock or mechanically using the Automatic Gate Operator remote. If the gate is opened, someone with a key must have opened it. I really don't have to worry about lock picking or padlock breaking cos it's really a hardnut to crack.

So you are here posting pictures of the Chateau, and refused to reply to my message or calls ! I informed you on several occasions today and yesterday that the refund due for the FAKE/FORGED BUILDING PLAN was due yesterday, the outstanding balance remains N100,000 of which you are supposed to be paying N10,000 per week. Can you give me/the house an idea of when the next installment payment will be made ? ? n3xt: 6 Likes |

allCopacetic:knowing what you want, being an expert in the line and dealing with close distributors who can't let you down is the main solution when it comes to electrical wires forget about going to their company. **** behave like a smart dude and get scammed ****dull yourself and pay the amount you will use to buy orginal for fake. **** try to know it all and end up buying crap at the end cos these ppl are smart and confusing. My build isnt up to wiring level so i aint botherd cos if it gets there, i will just call one of my tenant in Alaba market to supply me. I live and grew up in Alaba international market and i can brag that i will never buy anything fake there cos i know how they play thier games. We have a lot of them as tenant who have parking store and wherehouse in our compound. They import wire from China and recoil them. They will remove the wrap meant for original to wrap the fake cheap ones they import from china and sell them same price you will buy the original. How do i know this? i see it with my eyes everyday (i wasnt told). The best wire you can buy in nigeria is nigeria wire that thier names are boldly written on it. I dont know if they now have another method of printing the names on fake wires because there is nothing igbo boys cant do (they are very smart). The last wire my mum bought last year was from our tenant who sells it and we dont need to remind him that we want original cos we know everything, we buy from him all the time for friends and family. and the electrician will confirm that they are original. The funny part is; they will give China a look alike name with original and when u get to the market, they will convince u that the fake one is the original and mind u, the price of the fake one will be higher than the original for you to think that's truly original (only expert in the line can spot the difference). The original ones are meant for their "we we" who know as e dey go No be lie o, if Nigeria get light for 3 months without off, many houses will burn to ashes. 2 Likes 1 Share |

n3xt: Thank you for sharing. Your gate at the Chateau looks great! This makes me feel a bit better about the idea. I would like the lock mechanism to be welded inside the panels of the gates so that only the key hole is visible. I wish I would have taken a picture of an entry door that I saw with this set-up. I hope it can be done with gates. 1 Like |

Teebawse:your kingpost type depends on the cost of wood you will use. If your build is a 'normal' standard 4 bedroom bungalow, what I am seeing here is too much. Upload the roof plan for our pro's. 3 Likes 1 Share |

msogunro: It's possible with gates. The same welder made my kitchen security door below. I don't have full pics of the kitchen door though. You just need to work with creative guys who will not tell you "it's impossible" __________ Good job on your site. A perfect site for a Hilltop Chateau. That area looks much like Old Ife road.
