I can't start disputing figures from markets I don't know how they run.
One underlying factor you cannot ignore tho, is the effect of a new high profile signing.

Well, the link you dropped is not from a reputed football site, that's why it's hard for me to believe. Zlatan will sell huge amount of jerseys, but doing so in a week is a feat I find hard to believe.

if experts were predicting that in the 6-years of his contract he'd more than make up the fees splashed on him, then it's safe to conclude these were shortly after he sign for Madrid.

We can't say how "short" was the 'shortly'. It'd have been 3weeks old or even a month after.

Saw him during Monaco's run to the UCL quarters seasons back, he's a lot like Alves, adventurous going forward and good at defending

Lol!
See exaggeration at its best! Why don't they find out how much sales Ronaldo's shirt made in a year at Madrid. It wasn't even up to 13mil euros but Zlatan will finance Pogba fees? Lol!
People should know the club only get 10% cut of the sale.
anytime I see fans saying "we'll make the money back through Jersey sales"I always try to tell them this

Sailorxy I saw the story too but I really doubt it. It has been proven that player jerseys cannot make the fees for their transfers. It was a silly rumor popularised by Perez when he was signing his galaticos and now it simply refuses to die and people bring it up and every now and then but it's not true.

On United jerseys; United generally sell more jerseys worldwide than any other club. The huge percentage increase in the sale of new player jerseys is understandable. Even the jerseys average players like Memphis sell a lot and I think Martial's jersey sale was among the top 3 worldwide when he's not even close to being a top 20 player. It's all due to the United brand.

Exactly we already get a fixed sum per year from adidas (£75m) and at best we can only receive bonuses if the sales are exceedingly high but these bonuses aren't big enough.

The high volume of sales should help us in future negotiations however to secure a bigger deal.

So ur name na Fosu-Mensah?? Awesome. grin grin

Abegi. Even Rashford was assured of his future. The club even opted to sign an old 1yr striker instead of a younger, long term striker so as not to stunt his growth as our future CF. But we both know Rashford ll hardly get time under Mourinho. Na Zlatan e go be almost every match day.

And why should the likes of Januzaj, Mensah and other make sense youth players be sent on loan?? Does he plan on using the same starting 11 he plays on Thursday nights to start league games on Sunday??
The Europa group games and up to the round of 32 should be relatively easy games for us. And dat is d best place to gve our youth a chance while the big boys play on weekends. Every one stays fresh and well rested that way with little risk of injuries.

Sending those players out on loan is a bad idea and will only come back to hurt us later in the season.
You're being extremely illogical here. Tell me which other striker we could've signed that would have resulted in more game time for Rashford than a 34 year old Zlatan who can't play every game
Tell me please.

I thought you and some others had made peace with Mourinho being our coach but I was wrong. Some of you are just waiting/preparing and hoping he fails at every single chance. That's very bad because Mourinho's failure would be United's failure and it doesn't look very good if Mourinho fails here too and can't rescue us from this mess we've gotten ourselves. You don't understand this, do you?

Wrong choice of words!

The club approached him while he was chilling. He gave them (both juve and united) his and pogba's terms at the beginning of the negotiations. They agreed and started talking and things took off from there.

Or are they both trying to say they DID NOT KNOW he was expecting "20m" from the FINAL DEAL? Did he just wake up and say.... "Abeg make una just drop me 20m since all of una too hold?"

The dude is rich for a reason, he's not greedy but SHARP and someone MUST PAY!

This was one of the reason I never wanted Mourinho.
I was actually looking forward to a midfield of Poole and Harrop in the near future because I know for a start that Lvg did signed Poole and he did looked good as Carrick replacement in the few clips I watched.

Poole could have emerged as our own Weigl/Busquets. Even Van gaal was looking forward to him as he did play him during our great run against Midgetlland. And there's Harrop whom I rate a lot more than Perreira because he's got better vision, spatial awareness and his technique is just as good, if not better than that of Perreira. Even LVG was keeping tab on him and Goss before both got injured.

As a matter of fact, only a quality English youth player such as Harrop could have replaced Rooney without raising the Media's eyebrow because there's no way they would cause an uproar when they see another English youth player putting in better performance than that of Rooney, in the similar way they all agreed that Rooney shouldn't start as a striker ahead of Rashford because first and foremost, he's also an English player and secondly, he was playing better than Rooney.
You are a lost cause. All these postulations and conjectures up here are simply silly fantasies and I'm not buying it.

Infact I dare say it now, Rashford won't even succeed as starting CF for United in the years to come. Soon we'll realize he's not good enough for and he'll never be good enough for United. Hell most likely end up a bench/squad player at best or end up in a smaller club. That's going with odds and this truth is most likely whether you believe it or not. That's me being realistic and I'm capable of that unlike you who see talents everywhere in our youth players.

Infact I don't give a sh1t about him succeeding or not. We're United and not Rashford FC.

This pre-season could have been the best chance for LVG to finally build his squad with both the youth and the experienced players in the same way he did with the AJax team or in the least, give the Youth players a solid foundation like he did with the Bayern's youth players and it was only last season, he finally got acquainted with our youth team players. He was even going to the U21 youth matches to watch them play.
You mean the same pre season that was poorly planned by LVG that has everyone complaining currently that we're gonna play so few matches before the season begins?
Do you know we travelled all the way to China and could only play a single match?

How many players from our academy have become starters in our team due to featuring in pre season? Why would this preseason be any different from the 2 previous ones we've had with LVG?
Pls stop. Simply stop. Your bullsh1t is getting to peak levels again and I can't stand that.

What do know about Ajax apart from what you read online? That LVG laid the foundations there too?

Ajax took years or even decades of planning all those work on their academy happened long before LVG. He didn't set up anything; he was the one to reap the benefits. Obviously you don't know this. You just know he won stuff and was successful with them.

That's why since LVG left Ajax, he hasn't come close to replicating the level of success he had at Ajax because he wasn't even the major person responsible for it in the first place. Do you think you can get teams playing total football or possession football in 3 years?
No it simply doesn't work like that. It takes decades of planning and organisation. That's why what LVG tried to do here wasn't gonna work in such short period of time. He would need at least 10 years and we don't have such time.

Even last season wasn't that bad, all we needed was a capable replacement for the aged Carrick and a quality right winger. It's a pity that LVg got it wrong with the injury prone Schweini as he did thought he could have shared the burden with Carrick in the midfield but in the end, we had to rely on the ageing Carrick alone 'cos Schweini's was too injury prone.
Last season wasn't bad? It was a disaster and we're still here left to lick our wounds considering we aren't even in the champions league because LVG failed to achieve the bare minimum of making top 4. We didn't even remotely come close to competing for the title in a year that it was won by Leceister.
Whether Carrick/Bastian was injury prone or our lack of right winger are none issues and it's none of my business. It's all LVG responsibility to see to those problems and he failed miserably and that's why he was failure here and he was shown the door.
So stop the revionism.
The funny thing is we've done little to replace our most important player, Carrick in the midfield while chasing rainbow in Pogba and I doubt Mourinho would trust an inexperienced player in Poole...
I agree we need to replace Carrick but the signing of a single midfielder won't solve all our existing midfield problems. We need at least 2 signings there if we are being honest with ourselves and Pogba is just one top quality player we've added there and those expecting him to transform the whole midfield are being very unreasonable.

If you think I'm wrong, tell me the single midfield player we should sign that will solve all our midfield problems.

I couldn't find any reputable source stating the samething and the SUN is simply unreliable so I really doubt what they've quoted as Pogba wages.

If the £220k per week figure is true, then it's most likely wages pre tax. In England actually, when wages are quoted it's usually before tax and that's most likely the case here but the SUN decided to bump it up being the piece of sh1t they are.

If united end up re-signing pogba then it seems the club have finally done away with their well worn policy of not re-signing ex players! Too bad because it smacks of poor planning! I strongly believed he would never return as I stated countless times but one thing I've learnt in life is to always expect the unexpected.

In hindsight I wonder why even though pogba from the few times I always watched him on mutv, and the fact that he was highly rated by fergie and most of the academy coaches as well as senior pros, why on earth did they not include a buy back clause in his exit deal when they finally knew he was bouncing? That's a big farce there. It was actually Van gaal that cut our pre-season short in China due to his previous experience of the harsh weather over there. Without his decision, we would have made all our plans over there. You need to read his take before jumping on the criticism bandwagon.

I'll always be of the notion that last season under Van Gaal wasn't as bad as people make out considering the average squad at his disposal and the injury that happened to Bastian. Prior to Bastian injury, the team were knocking on the top spot until his injury happened and we gad to rely on the ageing Carrick.

The reality is if we compare the quality of our squad to Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, City and even Leicester, we fall short in every department. Which player in our attack was better than Leicester attack duo of Mahrez and Vardy? Or Arsenal trio of Sanchez, Ozil and Giroud before the emergence of Rashford? Or Spurs trio of Kane, Eriksen and Alli? Or City duo of Debruyne and Aguero? Or Chelsea trio of Costa, Hazard, Willian? None! How about which of our midfielders was better than Kante, Dembele, Fabregas, Cazorla, Silva et al? None!

Without Van gaal, we would have even fall far behind the top 4. We all saw how the team looked against Dortmund even with the addition of Shaw, Mkhi and Bailly in the team! No doubt the blame rest on Van gaal for his failure to bring in more quality into the team but the fact still remain that the squad was a poor one and Van gaal did his best with it.

As regards with Ajax, let me also tell you that Van gaal did same with Alkamar in the dutch league. His first and second season were reminiscent of what happened to our team under him but in his third season, he made them champion and I think it was for the first time for them and he did it with a youthful squad. Even while he was at Bayern, it was the defence that bleeped him up and not the attack. Many time, Bayern had to score 3, 5-6 goals to overturn 3 goals deficit due to their poor defence. They had the likes of van buyten, Dimechilis, injury prone Badstuber whom Van gaal mostly relied upon to overcome his injury and an average goalkeeper. You can all check here to see for yourself. www.transfermarkt.us/louis-van-gaal/leistungsdatenDetail/trainer/2029/verein_id/27/saison_id/2010 Their attack were never the problem apart from the occasional big game choking performance from Gomez.

Besides, the team last season had moments when they played fluid but the problem was that we constantly relied on the ageing Carrick who needed to be rested and without Bastian, Carrick had to play everytime even when his leg were out because without him, we always stink the place like we did against Liverpool in the Europa.

Lastly, Van gaal had already planned to stick with kids after his poor outing in the transfer market and that was why he signed the likes of Martial, TFM, Poole and Depay last season apart from Bastian and Morgan. And you ask what happened to the kids Van gaal used in the previous pre-season, one was Lingard whose goal won the FA cup.

What you don't know is that the average youth at the club put in 10% more effort than what they can offer on any other day. This means when you eventually bring forth a quality youth player from the academy, his performance always tends to be much more better than all those mercenary brought into club for a lot of fees. And the more reason why clubs who gives rooms to their youth becomes dominant for a longer span than mercenary club out there. And when I say Youth, I mean quality youth.

We already chose the mercenary path by the way and we will likely reap fruit from it.

That's a big farce there. It was actually Van gaal that cut our pre-season short in China due to his previous experience of the harsh weather over there. Without his decision, we would have made all our plans over there. You need to read his take before jumping on the criticism bandwagon.
You obviously do not understand the situation at hand. LVG reduced the number of matches we play in preseason drastically, the same way he sold too many players unnecessary. You don't travel all the way to China to end up playing a single match; no club works like that. Then we shouldn't have gone in the first place or we should've simply gone to the US as we used to.

I'll always be of the notion that last season under Van Gaal wasn't as bad as people make out considering the average squad at his disposal and the injury that happened to Bastian. Prior to Bastian injury, the team were knocking on the top spot until his injury happened and we gad to rely on the ageing Carrick.

Last season was a disaster, and that's why LVG got sacked; Denying it doesn't change anything.
You keep mentioning our squad is average? Whose fault is that? Who forced LVG to work with an average squad? Do you listen to yourself at all? Who asked him not to sign quality players? He had 4 transfer windows and was provided with funds to spend as he likes; he had total control on transfers but he was simply useless at doing his job.
That's simply failure and there's no excuse for it.

So you're already judging Mourinho and his signings with a single preseason game where most of the players were unfit, lacking match sharpness and we were without our starters like Martial, Smallling etc and we faced strong Dortmund side who had already played 3 more games than us and were far ahead in their match preparations?
If i call you a lunatic now, you'll get offended as usual but what you've said is simply stupid.

As regards with Ajax, let me also tell you that Van gaal did same with Alkamar in the dutch league. I didn't ask you for any of this nonsense. I only stated that LVG never came close to matching the success he had at Ajax because he wasn't exactly the major factor responsible for it in the first place. Stop saying things you know nothing about. If we go deeper into these issues like his time at Bayern, you'll get exposed again as usual.

Besides, the team last season had moments when they played fluid but the problem was that we constantly relied on the ageing Carrick who needed to be rested and without Bastian, Carrick had to play everytime even when his leg were out because without him, we always stink the place like we did against Liverpool in the Europa.
Who forced LVG to rely on an ageing and injured prone Carrick? What are you on about again?

Lastly, Van gaal had already planned to stick with kids after his poor outing in the transfer market and that was why he signed the likes of Martial, TFM, Poole and Depay last season apart from Bastian and Morgan. And you ask what happened to the kids Van gaal used in the previous pre-season, one was Lingard whose goal won the FA cup.
I asked you how many players LVG eventually used and you could only name one (lingard). So much for his youth promoting that Lingard only got a chance because LVG failed to sign a good right winger and we reallyenjoyed Lingard performances, didn't we?. In case you haven't realized this, Lingard isn't gonna remain a starter for United. He's never gonna be good enough. At best he'll end up a squad player or he'll get sold to a lesser team. It's no suprise that we failed to make ordinary top 4 when you've the likes of lingard starting as your best right winger. So tell me what did LVG achieve with those young players that featured in preseason?
Mediocrity!

He had already planned to stick to his kids? This is another lie. Again, that's none of my business as long as he's successful; People don't care if he does it with kids or stars but he failed. He simply failed.

This could be true but where are the quality youth players? At United's academy?
Tell me the quality youth player we have had in the last 15 years from our academy? undecided

I hope you don't carry these stupid fantasies and assumptions into your actual life.

We already chose the mercenary path by the way and we will likely reap fruit from it.
What other option do we have? Do you think we would have success by simply choosing to promote and play youths as we like?

I don't understand how you manage to write so much nonsense and bullsh1t in extremely long posts. I'm done with replying you for today.

I didn't ask you for any of this nonsense.

Besides, the team last season had moments when they played fluid but the problem was that we constantly relied on the ageing Carrick who needed to be rested and without Bastian, Carrick had to play everytime even when his leg were out because without him, we always stink the place like we did against Liverpool in the Europa.

You didn't ask for this yet you constantly implied that Van gaal has been a failure after his Ajax stint? That piece was to call you back to reality.

I would admit that Van gaal isn't very good in the transfer market but with a decent squad at his disposal, he's one of the best coach out there. Just look at his Holland team that won 3rd place. I think he knows it and the main reason he tends to stick a lot with quality kids who are quick to learn his fluid tactics than some boring average maniac who believes they are better than they are when they are basically shite!

You said we shouldn't have gone to China but it was the Board that wanted the team there for the money. How then is it the Coach fault?
More so, Dortmund was never at full strength, they had just lost 3 of their best players and their replacements were on holiday. You talk about fitness but why didn't the team look as poor against a poor Wigan team in the first game? The reality staring you in the eyes is the fact that the squad is very poor. Simple as Abc.

A:

I'LL always be of the notion that last season under Van Gaal WASN'T AS BAD as people make out considering the average squad at his disposal and the injury that happened to Bastian.

B:

WITHOUT VAN GAAL, we would have even fall far behind the top 4. No doubt the blame rest on Van gaal for his failure to bring in more quality into the team but the fact still remain that the squad was a poor one and Van gaal did his best with it.

C:

Even while he was at BAYERN, it was the defence that bleeped him up and not the attack.

D:

Besides, the team last season had moments when they played FLUID

These points I listed from your earlier post are the ones I find ridiculous that's why I'm addressing them, plus your preference for bringing a lot of unrelated stuff into a straight answer to a simple question is another reason! Now......

1: As regards your point A, I think you are the only human being on earth that has that opinion!

2: Point B is pure trash! Because you are not nastradamus! That is pure speculation!

3: Here is what bayerns bosses had to say about your mans time after he got sacked! It will take care of point C since it holds no water:

"Football should be enjoyable, but there has been nothing enjoyable about football at FC Bayern for a while now. And to say that he had the players behind him was a myth. Problems were created which were totally
unnecessary and which have ripped the club to
pieces. Louis Van Gaal should consider what he has done."........Uli Hoeness!

"As soon as he presented his autobiography in a snobby restaurant, I knew hard times were
ahead. Louis van Gaal was not always easy-care. He wanted to 'VANGAALISE' our club. He has a huge ego.".....Karl heinz Rummenigge!

4: As for point D, kindly just give me 7 games out of the more than 40 plus other games that man united were involved in where this supposedly FLUID jogo bonito was being played! I hope you were not watching barcelonas games and thought you were watching man u bruv?
