A state developed by white people, can't be compared to a state that was bombed and demolished, built back by the people without government allocation until recently.

The recent development of investor's to the State and the rise in IGR is what he is talking about.

It's pathetic, really, that some people absolutely abhor contextual information. I keep asking them, why won't they compare Lagos to Abuja?

Few months ago, Obiano's team were on a study tour to LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT to learn from the Boss Lagos itself

http://www.lagosstate.gov.ng/2016/04/12/obianos-team-in-lagos-on-study-tour/

And an idiot is asking why Lagos. If not Lagos, which other state should I have mentioned? Imo or Akwa Ibom? _Fucking tribalist!

This is why they were in Lagos
The Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment, Dr. Babatunde Adejare has attributed the modest achievements of successive governments since 1999 in Lagos State to sheer passion, determination and hard work, and not magic.

Dr. Adejare stated this in response to the commendations of the Managing Director of Awka Capital Development Authority, Architect Michael Okonkwo, who led a special delegation sent by the Anambra State Governor, Mr. Willie Obiano to understudy what he described as a “revolution in environmental management ” in Lagos State.

The Commissioner said that “with the kind of zeal, dedication and passion which former Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his successors put into the daunting challenge of waste management since 1999, it is no surprise that the mountain of refuse and the toga of dirtiest state, which were inherited had to give way to the lush, green and aesthetically beautiful Lagos we are savoring today’’

It has little or nothing to do with the management of the economy.

Again, it shouldn't be Lagos cos Lagos is very rich, utilising a budget of nearly 10% of Nigeria's entire budget.
Anambra is a better example cos the state government has learnt to manage the meagre resources and yet steer the state to enviable heights. For this reason, Buhari has little excuse saying the country is broke.

You and I are on a different wave length because I wasn't supporting Buhari in that my writeup you quoted.

My point is:

1. What stops Bruce from also advising his state governor to go to Anambra and learn from Obiano?

2. If Buhari should learn from any state it shouldn't just be Anambra. Lagos trumps all other states in terms of revenue generation and efficiency.

3. Are you aware that most of the core members of Buhari's economic team once served in Lagos. Folks like Babatunde Fowler, Ben Akabueze, A former Lagos state deputy governor etc.

4. Ben Bruce advice is not genuine because all he does is to come online and spew trash for his bigoted followers to chew on when he can as well as meet with the presidency or the Min of Finance to offer his suggestions.
5. Lastly, the economic realities in Anambra state is far different from managing the affairs of an entire nation with lots of vested interests and issues so Bruce advice can best be described as utter nonsense and bullocks.

Thank you.

No wonder Nigerian economy is in shambles

Just read the post below

NIGERIAN NON OIL SECTOR CRUMBLING

Amidst efforts by the Federal Government to diversify the economy from oil, the prospects of earning revenue from the non-oil sector are fast fading, owing to the dismal performance of the sector.

Data from Bloomberg showed that all activities in the non-oil sector recorded varying degrees of declining growth relative to real Gross Domestic Product in the first quarter of 2016.

Specifically, the data indicated that the sector dropped from 2.11 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2015 to -0.36 per cent in the first quarter of 2016.

A further breakdown of the figure showed that in the agriculture, forestry and fishing sub sector, crop production dropped from 3.3 per cent in the Q4, 2015 to three per cent in the Q1 2016; livestock was 5.6 per cent in the Q4 2015, it dropped to 3.9 per cent in the Q1 2016. Forestry fell from four per cent in the Q4 2015 to 2.3 per cent in the Q1 2016. Fishing was 5.4 per cent in the Q4 2015, it dropped to 3.3 per cent in the Q1 2016.

The mining and quarrying, crude petroleum and natural gas sector had a negative decline of -8.3 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2015; it improved slightly to -1.9 per cent in the first quarter of 2016.

In the sector, coal mining reduced from 7.7 per cent in the Q4 2015 to 3.3 per cent in the Q1 2016. Metal ores increased from 6.9 per cent to 57 per cent while quarrying and other minerals, which stood at 5.6 per cent in the Q4 2015, recorded a negative (-88.9 per cent) in the Q1 2016.

In the manufacturing sector, oil refining maintained a negative of -22.6 per cent in the Q1 2016, the same figure that was recorded for the Q4 2015.

Cement, which witnessed huge growth last year, dropped sharply from a high of 21.3 per cent in the Q4 2015 to a negative of -4.4 per cent in the Q1 2016.

Food, Beverage and Tobacco sector increased in negative growth from -5.6 per cent in the Q4 2015 to -11.1 in the Q1 2016. Textile and apparel, which recorded 2.8 per cent growth in the Q4 2015, declined to -3 per cent.

Chemical and pharmaceutical products declined from 17.2 per cent in the Q4 2015 to 5.9 per cent in the Q1 2016; non-metallic mineral products dipped from 12.7 per cent in the Q4 2015 to 5.5 per cent in the Q1 2016; plastic and rubber products also plummeted from 15.7 per cent in Q4 2015 to 4.8 per cent in Q1 2016.

Wholesale and retail trade also witnessed a decline from 4.7 per cent in the Q4 2015 to two per cent in the Q1 2016.

In general, real GDP growth of the manufacturing sector slowed by 8.39 per cent in the Q1 2016 according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

The report added that nominal GDP growth of manufacturing in the Q1 2016 slowed by 2.98 per cent (year-on-year), representing 4.23 per cent points lower from growth recorded in the Q1 2015 and 9.91 per cent points lower from growth in the Q4 2015 as a result of slower growth in 10 of 13 activities in the sector.

And because Anambra passed through war didnt mean the whole town was razed till no structure was left. Why do you like to lie to yourself to boost your ego?

It has a lot to do with the economy because there can be no developmental progress in a state which would boost the economy when the entire state is in filth. That is the difference between you online bigots and a forward thinking performer like Obiano. He realised he had to work on clearing off dirts from the main city, saw the way Lagos did it and approached them to learn from them.

With a clean Anambra, more investors would want to come in and do biz with the government.

N20.000 ke? Na bankruptcy be that o.

See, it's always about the money ans you always have to follow the money.

Anambra is a poor salary only state.

The Anambra state budget is measly N101 billion which can not do anything after paying salary and even that N101billion has the usual question mark because the allocation built into it dwindles everyday because of low oil price and destruptions in the Delta.

Even the below minimum wage they are paying can not easily be sustained and this ia why obiano went to hia2 lawmakers to approve N10 billion loan on top of the debt still on their books.

N101 billion budget after adding all your money together means poor and this is the reason why obioano can not do anything beyond walking around and taking pictures just to look busy.
shameless ethnic bigot. You and your poverty stricken state should first of all feed.
FYI asides Lagos state no other state in Nigeria can boast of financial prowess and management like Anambra. Other depends on federal allocations.

This man is from Bayelsa state but what impact has he made to improve the conditions in his state by offering advices to the government the same way he is doing with PMB?

Obiano is doing very fine in his state but how can you dare compare the state with managing the affairs of a big nation like Nigeria?

If at all you need to, Lagos is the state to mention and not Anambra.
Mr go and take several seats. Lagos Lagos Lagos. Someone with zero experience in governance will do well in Lagos state.

Please is there any Anambra in Nigeria? Which Anambra is BMB talking about? Anambra state that can't even pay corpers common #8,300 alawee and yet the corpers are the ones doing the whole Jobs in the state. Go to all the government schools and offices you will see a government school with 30 - 40 corpers and even more than that figure in some schools, yet Willie can't pay them, this is the 8th month now without state alawee. A state without much workers, even their private schools are filled up with corpers, all they want is cheap labour, I don't think any government office or schools have up to 15 permanent staff. My people abeg Willie is not working, OK? Don't be deceived
