The BAPT program is not a full fledged degree program though, and it cannot be used for masters application in Canada. It may be accepted in some other countries though. Sorry bout your delay.

It's not the program level. Most of the Nigerian students studying at SAIT in Calgary are on this program. You know we like anything O&G related in Nigeria, hence more than 60% of students in that program every year are usually Nigerians. The rest are usually a mix of Iranians and Pakistanis. This is a class of around 100 students. All you need for admissions is a diploma from Canada or a technical degree from your country of residence. It's an after degree or after diploma program, and one can't get admission to that program with o'level results only.

If the qualification you get after the program cannot be used to apply for masters. Then what is the essence of the program if you cannot move forward or go higher academically with the qualification. So that means you just get stuck after the program.

Secondly, please I also wanna know if this program is open to all graduates regardless of the class of degree. For instance, can someone with a 3rd class degree from Nigeria be admitted for this program.

Hello. Please, I'm new here. Although I've been following from part 8. Do we have anyone who is going to Canada for a bachelors degree? I don't know anyone.

[quote author=michV post=48410003]good morning all, to encourage all PGC/PGD students,i came up with a sourced fact that PURPOSE OF VISIT is as a result of inconsistency in program.you can hardily hear of program inconsistency when it comes to masters or phd applicants.

UOttawa sent my tuition invoice and directed me to pay via western union global pay...this doesn't work in Nigeria. So I took the uottawa-western union payment invoice to first bank.

First Bank is saying there's no relationship between Form A and Western Union.

Somebody help!

Have you mailed the international admissions office?

Explain your situation to them. They should give you their wire transfer instructions. Certainly, they must have a bank account where tuitions can be paid.

Nigerian bankers are not familiar with Western Union business solutions for payment of tuition. Indeed it has no relationship with form A. Cos if you use Western union business solutions, the forex will be locked in a quoted rate for you for about 72hrs or so which is inconsistent with the "floating of forex policy" put in place by CBN. Besides since the official forex rate is now determined by inter bank rates, using a Western union business solutions will prove very difficult.

Contact your school or explore other methods of payment.

Mail uottawa, ask them to send you wire transfer details. Let them know what steps you've taken and that Western union global pay proved abortive.

They dont accept wire transfers anymore.
@ yemmdogg what other payment options are there? What account details will I pay into? The same on the western union form?

Mine was to expire in October before I was asked to renew.
Basically, they can't issue a TRV beyond the expiration date of your passport.

That's like 8 months now. Hope you are in Abuja. if not you may need to travel to Abuja to have your passport renewed. only headquarters renew passport that has more than 6 months expiry period. I maybe wrong though, nothing is impossible in Nigeria. I was at Ikeja passport office last month, that's what I was told.

FYI, We can actually apply via paper route without submitting original passport. visa application centre collects only copy and embassy will request for d passport later. A friend submitted his application today via paper route without original passport. He told them that his passport is with another embassy. He was only asked to make 4 copies of his data page instead of 2 copies they normally collect.
Another questionnaire was given everybody asking if they won't need their passport for d next three months.
My advice is that if you know you have a plan B, you can still apply via paper without submitting your passport or apply via online. CIC waiting period is really killing. All the best.
