My husband got delayed a few days back. I did the whole application myself and submitted it online. Submitted on 9th of May, 2016 Biometrics the next day He's going for BSc Nursing and has a previous degree in Biomedics {2010}. ##You have not satisfied me that you will leave Canada after.... Reasons: 1 length of proposed stay 2 purpose of visit 3 current employment situation 4 personal assets and financial status. Docs: All CiC forms Aunt's statement of account (sole proprietress of the school #15m bal) Letter of sponsorship from aunt pledging CAD30k yearly His dad's consent and family business inc document Kids & my passport showing some travel pages (all in Nigeria presently) School Acceptance Docs All school previous certificates No SOP No personal account statement although I added docs of his car Landed docs of his parents and he's the only child No docs from work because he doesn't want his institution to know about his plans but his dad wrote the consent letter as if his son is also an employee in his company {a technical firm}. ##i later noted that the letter from school stated "Pre-Nursing usually 1 year in length" although the entire duration is 4 years. I filled in 4 years in the form, I don't know if this could also be one of the reasons for refusal. I know there are quite a few loopholes in the entire application and I intend to tackle it head on. Please house all suggestions are welcome. 1 Like |

ChristineC: What school did he apply to? Best advice just order your gcms and it will give you the details of why your husband was denied. Taking suggestions here is a superficial way of tackling the issue, the VO would give you reasons as to why he denied you, we are not the VO, just applicants like yourself. So just order your gcms repackage nd refire, an applicant may hav the same reasons for denial as the other applicant in the correspondence letter but the VO will state different reasons in both of there gcms file. 2 Likes |

ChristineC:lemme analyze this refusal reasons bit by bit as it applies to you and in reference to what you listed Lenght of prosposed stay:may be as a result of contradictory statements or mistake from your part as regard to the duration of your program personal assets and financial status: absence of employment/work related docs and personal acct statement Purpose of visit: this is as a result of personal assets and financial status, length of prosposed stay and i am not certain but the nature of your program could also be a factor if they don't see the purpose for such study in canada, but if there is consistency,a strong worded logical statement of purpose is required.but another bachelors degree at this stage of his life/career? I cant speak strongly if it could scale through at the embassy. Travel history:its not a yardstick in some individual cases,so i can hardly lay emphasis on that in essence request for GCMS FILE |

michV:Thanks for your input. Don't think he's an old man because I mentioned kids oo , he will be 29 in 4 months. My elder sister got a Nursing admission in USA at age 33 from Nigeria and she's almost through with the course now. I will include an SOP next time, he was actually quite busy with a lot of things that was why I took up the process on his behalf. A friend who has gone through this process advised that I add work docs compulsorily, even if it means getting an ID-employment letter from his dad's company and account statements showing one or two payments from the company matter how little. She also advised that parental consent and employer introduction should not be merged even if both are from his dad. One can be emotional on a plain sheet of paper while the other on a company letter head should be strictly professional. Thanks about the GCMS option. |

ChristineC:madam, as ethan45 suggested request for the gcms note. before then some questions need to be answered concerning the application. biomedics is related to nursing, your husband finished previous degree six years ago why going for another bsc now. why not masters or PGD in any health related field. going to Canada for bsc of five years in Canada after another bsc in Nigeria is questionable. I think that's where length of proposed stay and purpose of visit came from. I hope he's working. in d next application include his employment documents and personal bank statement. all the best. |
