The first one has dedicated GPU. However, if you are serious about gaming. No 4GB RAM out of the box lappy will do that for you. Unless u want to play Zuma and Tetris.

I have a 6th Gen CPU and GTX 960M and i can't still max out many new titles. I can play most comfortably on medium to high yes. But can't max out the graphics. If you want to game, invest more. If you are a proper gamer, buy a PS4.

Lol back to ur question again, the first one because it has a dedicated GPU. Cheers! smiley

I don't want max settings, as far as I can play it on medium or high settings not ultra( no go area). Would the specs do for medium or high settings? Trying to look at cost. Just want it to be around 120,000

You obviously didn't comprehend my comment before quoting me. I said the speed gets throttled even without downloading. Originally, they said, after the first 90 days, speed would be throttled if one consumes up to 3gb in peak period. Cumulatively, i haven't used up to 500mbs since last Thursday because of the slow speed. I have since stopped downloading because of the frustrating slow speed. By the way, i acquired this sim in June, so it hasn't been up to 90 days yet.

And i still insist that it's not network issue. ntel is deliberately throttling everyone.

They aren't deliberately throttling. They have acknowledged that there is a problem with the network and have said they are working to fix it. It's just taking too long. Had 2 bars since today and i got 1MB/s to 2MB/s while downloading. I've been able to do 12GB today alone. My own is purely network reception. With more bars, i get higher speed. And I'm not even paying lol.

Unless u are buying a used laptop then i don't know what u can get for 120K really. Regardless, u didn't mention the exact R7 series GPU.
~ Like my GTX 900M series GPU is the 4GB dedicated GTX 960M. ~ 940M for instance is alot worse and 980 is a total beast! cool
But judging from 4th Gen i5 CPU and 4GB of RAM. I'll say low to medium settings for older games. Definitely low for newer games. Cheers.

Guess I should forget gaming. Just get a core i5 CPU, 4GB RAM and whatever graphics card inside. As far as it can carry out my day to day heavy browsing. Would it go for between 100,000-150,000

When did you buy ur sim? If it's over 90 days, ur data test drive period is over. They have always said that they will throttle ur speed after the first 90 days. Maybe u didn't do ur research well.

Just buy a new SIM. Better still, wait for the network to get relatively better, then buy a new SIM. Cheers

I respectively disagree, Stanley08, that a 4G network speed throttle from a normal ~8MB/s (yes, i'm a witness, not mb/s o,) down to ~200kbps (~25KB/s) is ever justifiable on the basis that a pre-sale warning was given.

In any case, please correct me if I missed it: But, I haven't come across where ntel quoted by how much downwards speed throttling would be invoked.

To me, a throttling during peak hours to about half it's current proven optimal strength (down to ~4MB/s, say, from ~8MB/s) may still be acceptable; after all, one can sometimes attain - even surpass 4MB/s in present-day 3G services in Nigeria, to which speed I testify on the MTN network in Lagos.

That's my 2 Kobo sha.

Having said all that, your head dey there with that new SIM strategy - if/whenever speed throttling is invoked. grin

I hope so. There has also been this issue of service outage. "No service" several times almost everyday now. Even right now as I type I don't have service.

1. I have Maxed out at 9.1MB/s and i had only 4bars not even 5. So yh, i know how fast Ntel is.

2. I have a friend in Germany that gets throttled down from as high as 100Mbs to 64kbps. WhatsApp chat below. Contacted him to get the facts right. So mate. It's not abnormal.

If GPU is not ur worry, aim for 8GBs of RAM. You should be able to get something decent on ur budget. 4GB is not good enough these days. Even i have 8GB and i still feel like it is bottleneck-ing my pc performance.
I will ship in some serious 16GB dual channel DDR3L RAMs when Buhari steps down. For now, eye dey red. No dollar expenses tongue

If u really have a way around ntel, then be careful how u go about bragging about it. If not, it will soon be blocked. You guys should have learnt from past experience.

I saw in one of your post in another topic that when u placed the ntel Sim inside a modem the speed upped to 18Mb/s compared to 3Mb/s when it was in ur android device.

1. So if u were to use two ntel Sims, one in ur modem and one in ur android device and test the speed at the same location and the same time, the speeds will defer?
2. is it unlocked swift or spectranet modem u using?
3. what's the brand and model of ur android device?

1. As i have said many times before in this thread, reception is not good in my area (Yaba). In my phone, 1 bar. In my mifi modem which i hang HIGH UP above my curtain level even, close to my ceiling i get up to 4bars. Speeds on 1 bar are usally below 1MB/s for me and on 4 bars up to 9MB/s (normally around 6 to 7MB/s tho). So if i carry my phone dat high up, i should get better reception, but why?!

2. Unlocked Swift E5372. Check my last screenshot for model number. Unlocked spectranet also works.

3. Huawei GR5 (aka Honor 5X).

Cheers.

1. Hmm... no need to be defensive, mate, didn't say you didn't.

2. Thanks for the info. That instance doesn't make it normal either, though. I, for one, will not accept it sha, unless of course throttling comes in after grabbing, say, 30 GB during peak hours/day. (Just kidding a bit with 30, but 15 will do. Hehehe.)

Wanted to see if devices affect speed tests including modems. But my conclusion is that they give the same speed.

Devices affect the speed. Phones like Samsung Galaxy S7 and co max out speed. I believe.

my speed as at 1.40 a.m was upto 3.1mb/s using ucweb on mobile connected to huawei E5372 mifi.
speed throttle is real ntel issue cuz av tried iy wit 3 diff 4G devices including VOLTE camon c5. even my new sim i collected not up2 a wk is havin same problm even down to 50kb/s.
for me, ucweb and IDM download speed is true measure of netwk speed not dat speedtest dat wil show 20mb/s but u cant pass 2mb/s in real download speed with IDM.
my peak speed with ntel using ucweb download ws abt 6mb/s arnd wuse zone 6 abj. 2mnths ago

Time will tell exactly what's going on. For now, they claim it's network problem. But how can network problem linger for more than a week now? Don't they have qualified network engineers who can handle such issues, given the huge investment they've made on the network?

Well, i was wondering the same. 1 day, 2 days. But 7days+ is just abysmal. Unbelievable even.

However, my own issue is not that i have good reception and slow speed. It's dat my reception is worse (1 - 2 bars). 4 before.

Don't talk about things you know nothing about. Boom j8 is an lte device and it supports ntel bands. In fact, the fastest speed I have achieved on ntel is with a j8.

So u can get that kind of speed from ntel on boom j8!!!!. From the screen shot i can only see one Sim being represented on ur notification screen. Is it the single Sim variant u bought or you just inserted only ntel Sim?
