Does anyone expect a single medal from Rio? Common let be serious, we did not prepare. In short we are never prepared ,just divine intervention. Many don't know what athletes go through in this country. They virtually live on empty stomach and by the strong will to succeed. No structured processes to discover and nurture talent. Our college/university school system does encourage sport and sporting activities. The days of Ezenwa brothers, Sunday Bada, Mary Onyeali-omogbemi and co are gone. Our stadias are in mess. Secondary school in cities no longer have good sporting grounds except in the villages where the demand for estate has not made the LGA to sell school lands. I wish the Nigerian delegates best of luck. It is not easy competing against those who have gone sport scientific.
