worry359: Worry Man, longtime! How you dey? I am renewing my UK visa o but from Saudi! I used my 6months visa for medical conference to UK back in 2014, without breaking any law. Trust me, I have all the necessary documents now to apply for visa but my fear is same as the poster above (my planned travel date is September 9th for same medical conference and my visa application date is on Sunday 21st august). Any ways the reason for delay is because in Saudi, passports for foreign doctors are usually held by Hospital admin till few weeks to vacation! It is well known by everyone. Do I need to add that in my cover letter?? Is it necessary? BTW, I plan using Visa priority service which usually takes 5days here sha!! Whats your take on that? NOTE: I have travelled to South Africa, UK, Brazil, Nepal (all for Medical Conferences, with proof certificates) @justwise @vicjustice how ona reason am?? Second time to buzz u oo, no reply!! Yall helped me for the 6months visa then if you remember, please need Yall professional advice.... |

esosa4real:Well, any information that you think would help is fine. But na wah for these Arab countries, everything about them is an abuse on human rights, even passports are held by employers to prevent employees from quitting at will. What a totalitarian society: ever preferring dictatorship to democracy. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by esosa4real(m): 3:18pm On Aug 18, 2016 |
Vicjustice: @vicjustice My brother, these Arabs ehn are just hypocrites!! They showcase themselves as kind and nice until you come to settle with them, then they show you their real colours. Human rights organisation's have no contol over them. Well, that's a discussion for another day. Please do you have any experience with this kind of near-travel date applications? My date of travel is Sept 9 but appt date is August 21. Should I state reason for late application in my cover letter? Or just ignore. (maybe am already okay in check as regards time lines) BTW will using priority service keep me safer? (It takes 5days here) |

rinw: Let me attempt to assist you: 1. If you'very been there for over a year maybe do an average of your pay over the last 12 months or insert a range or approximate. I think the new form had annual pay not monthly though. People who applied in such a scenario could help better! 2. Your company should write you a letter stating this. Could easily be included in your letter of introduction sef. Kill 3 birds at once and let them state your hourly pay arrangee, outstation allowances and the figures/rates. 3. If your friend's house has enough room to accommodate you (not a single room in some shared flat or hostel o or some crowded family house), sure why not? Hope you know said friend's situation sha. He/she would need to send tenancy agreements, proof of address, bla bla. If not, then a hotel close to where your activities are planned. 4. Why are you already proposing a change in travel dates before applying? Be sure man! Cross all them t's and dot the i's carefully. All the best 1 Like |

Hi Everyone, I was refused family visit visa early May (my first ever uk visa application) because of the following reasons: 1. The ECO did not believe that my relationship with my wife is genuine and susbsiting. In addition, he said he didn't believe I'm related to my daughter as claimed. They are both in the UK. 2. Earlier this year, due to a drop in company revenue, salary was paid in half and the balance at a later date. So, the ECO captilised on this and said my job didn't qualify as home tie. Although I was the architect of my own downfall. I stated the salary thing in my cover letter! Unbelievable. I thought I was being sincere. I now want to reapply again to visit my wife and daughter. I earn 227k after tax by the way and I will be having like 900k as closing balance. I will be addressing the refusal points with: 1. I have asked my wife to send our marriage certificate and our daughters birth certificate. I will also add her flight tickets, pictures and chat messages as proof of relationship. This is visit visa o. 2. Things have since normalised at the office and salary is now paid in full. Here is my conern. My last application was refused under 4.2(a). I looked it up on the internet and what I found is lack of home ties. I don't have any landed property. I only have dependants, my parents and younger sister. The people that are supposed to be my major home ties are the ones I'm going to visit. Please, vicjustice, justwise and co, what else can I add to my application to make it more convincing? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Vicjustice: 11:29pm On Aug 18, 2016 |
abubarakat:I suspect you did not present your marriage certificate as well as your kids birth certificates to substantiate your relationships. Land properties that do not require your managerial attention would not be considered a satisfactory home ties. Your best ties are supposed to be your job and occupations: and a workplace that pays you N227k should have represented your tie to Nigeria: work on your job tie. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by abubarakat: 12:19am On Aug 19, 2016 |
You are right. I didn't submit any evidence to prove relationship. I dont know what I was thinking. I will now, however, be adding every form of evidence to prove relationship with wife and daughter. Like I said earlier, it was because I stated that salary was being paid at 50% at intervals earlier this year that ECO couldn't accept my job as home tie. But this is no longer the case. No more 50% salary for the past 4 months now. Vicjustice: |

Hello, I intend attending a conference in the UK by next month and I'm about to apply for my Visa. Unfortunately, I cant use my bank account statement because i haven't had much transactions there in the last couple of months. And also haven't been paid by my office lately so no payslips! I recently got paid quite a huge sum however just recently in my account, but have read its not advisable to use such. I asked my office to ask as my sponsor but they declined, reasons best known to them. So i got a family member to sponsor me instead. Thing now is: 1. Is it okay having a family member act as a sponsor for a Conference i want to attend? 2. Should i just go ahead and fill a tourism visa I need advise from gurus in the house as i don't want to make any mistake that might blow my chances at this. Money cant just waste. Thanks in advance |

chimah3: 1. Why is your office not sponsoring the conference? 2. What is your monthly salary? 3. Married or single? |

Hi house, I had my visa appointment since on the 5th August and on the 9th August I got his email from VISAINFO.SHEFO "Your online application has been received in Sheffield, UK. Your application is currently being prepared for consideration by an Entry Clearance Officer." But till today I am yet to receive any email stating my visa application decision. Does it take this long to get a visa decision from the Sheffield visa section? I'm worried coz the date of traveling is quite close. |

abubarakat: What visa status is your wife on. ? ..... why dont you apply as spouse visa instead of visiting visa |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by abubarakat: 10:28pm On Aug 19, 2016 |
She is on ILR. We actually wanted to do spouse before but we have decided to put it on hold for now. I have a major project I'm currently working on and we are having a slight problem with the acoomodation requirement for spouse. So I just want to visit for now. LagosismyHome: |

onizebee: 1.What document(s) are you presenting from people inviting from the UK 2. You need to explain why those deposits are made into your account from your company. 3. How much do you spend monthly from your salary? |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Vicjustice: 11:10pm On Aug 20, 2016 |
valkaywalex:I suppose you're older than 16, therefore, a guardian is out of the question. if you're traveling for the purpose of studying, then only your parents or your siblings or spouse may be accepted as your sponsor. Now, if you intend to travel for leisure (ie visit), then, you're expected to meet the requirements which include self sustainability, documented occupation and evidence of earnings: yet, these are things that you lack. You are just not eligible for a UK visa. |
