What Superb loan spell? He was good at the start but tailed off before the end. After which he looked abject and poor in all the pre-season friendlies he played for us.

Anyway, Nani was talking about afterlife of signing a contract and the injuries. That was the exact time he left for lisbon.
Pardon my language but playing well in pre-season doesn't mean sh!t.

Nani played well in Portugal and I don't think he was given any chances in our second pre season under Van Gaal.

The main point here is that Nani is/was a very good player (and he proved that in the euros where he was Portugal's star player) and LVG sold him without bringing in a suitable replacement.

That reeks of poor team planning to me.

The moment he left on loan for Lisbon, he already sealed his fate. Tell me how many experienced players, not kids went on loan and came back to play in the team under the same manager? He would have done well to stay back and fight for his role in the team.

Not to mention coming back to look shite in all the pre-season friendlies. He sealed his fate already.

He shouldn't have gone on loan in the first place. Hernandez went on loan then transferred to Leverkusen and lit up the bundesliga.

The main point here is that Nani would have offered us x100 of what our other right wing options offered last season. That is undisputed.

He chose to leave because he wanted to be starting in a team. It's no one's fault but himself.

Actually, a lot of things are laced in my previous post. I mentioned the loan and afterwards, the pre-season games. Why? Because there's absolute no way the coach could have seen a lot of him while he was on loan. Hence, he had to immediately impress the coach in the pre-season which Nani failed to do.

However, if he had stayed back, there would have been a lot of place he could have impressed the coach. For example, in the training or on the pitch. Kids goes on loan to get the experience, not experienced players such as Nani/Hernandez and once a player chose that route, he's already a goner.

I am always flabbergasted, Assnal fans regard themselves as a top club...I feel because they are based in London that's the only reason they are relevant.

Top coach rarely deploy 442 nowadays except they have a player like Keane or Kante in midfield to prevent the midfield from being overrun and pacey forwards to help out.

Considering only 442 or 352 could accommodate the 2 waste bags of Rooney and Rvp, Van gaal chose the lesser evil.

352 tactic with the right players is the best tactic ever for me. We all saw the Italian team with such tactic doing so much like advancing to the Euro final in 2012 or performing well in the recent euro despite having little quality in the team. How about the average Holland team that won the 3rd place final. Even Pep often operates similar tactic because the tactic ensures more numbers in the defence and in the midfield thereby tapering over the little quality in those department.

The fact that we had 2 sluggish shitheads in Rvp and Rooney as the main front 2 was the major problem. The tactic looked great vs Madrid in the pre-season with the pacy Chicharito and Zaha leading the line for example.

Hence, blame your bae, Rooney for stinking the whole place.

Did you watch the pre-season then? Rooney was the player of the tournament.

Chicharito and Zaha were far behind Rooney and Mata in performance. It looks like, truly, you watch matches from livescores.

That's bull really.

How can you be a good coach if you are not monitoring the progress of your players you sent on loan or atleast telling someone to monitor them and report back to you.

We have relevance after making the UCL cuts 20 seasons and still counting.

Mr man, instead of worrying yourself over your superiors in everything football related, why don't you go and worry about how your "supposed top club" will get their first 3 points of the season, settle the nerves of your disgruntled and fed up players and attempt to escape from the relegation zone!

even without European football ACMilan is a top club while the likes of arsenal and Basel with UCL participation remain middle class clubs.

any european club yet to win UCL in its history is not a top club

Where is the FUN in being a gayner?

So going 12 years without a league title is your idea of fun?

Or steady embarrassment in your league openers every season makes you chuckle?

Or perennial underachievement and the collection of consistent wozery in the champions league tends to make you smile with glee?

Or endless frustration due to your club managers inaction as regards to addressing your teams very visible flaws induces laughter in you?

No wonder you are a goner! Na only una dey fit accept dis kind of fate as destiny!

Jose Mourinho has revealed Henrikh Mkhitaryan did not start for Manchester United against Leicester or Bournemouth because Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata were the 'best options' for the team.

Mkhitaryan was signed from Borussia Dortmund last month in a £26.3m deal and started the first three pre-season games against Wigan, Dortmund and Galatasaray.

However, the Armenian was on the bench for Wayne Rooney's testimonial against Everton, as well as the Community Shield and last week's Premier League opener.

Lingard and Mata scored in the latter victories and Mourinho lengthily discussed their selections ahead of Mkhitaryan.

"Options," Mourinho replied when asked about Mkhitaryan's recent omissions. "I went to the game against Leicester and I was reading the game and I thought we needed the speed of Jesse Lingard.

"And against Bournemouth, I thought they wanted to press really high, and a player like Mata coming inside could reach some spaces behind the lines of pressure and it could be very useful for us. And I decided to play Rooney both games in that position close to Zlatan and I didn't start with Mikhy.

"Some managers when they buy players, when it is their decision to buy players, the first thing they think is to protect themselves and to protect their choices. The players they buy have to play all the time. I am not like this. Before me comes the team, and what I think is the best for the team.

"In those two matches, Mata and Lingard were the best options for the team, adapted to the reality of the Premier League so I made that decision.

"But Mkhitaryan is a super football player and he will be given a lot of opportunities this season."
That's cool with me. cool

wink. BULLET!

"I have been in some of the biggest clubs in the world, but this is like the top of my career, but it comes in the early stage of my career.

"Because as a manager I am really young, and I
think I have the best years of my career to
come up. I was not joking [when I say 15 more years as a manager]. 53 plus 15 is 68, so I would say 14, 15, 16 more years, but I don't see myself going home before 70."

"Even as an opponent I could create a good
relationship with the fans, I never had problems, and I have not always behaved the best way. The first time I was running to celebrate a goal at the touchline. I always tried to be nice and have a relationship with the fans at Old Trafford. This time I go and
for the first time I can do what I never did, which is ask for their support. I always play against them, and this time they are on my side."

"As a fan you can go to the stadium and watch the game, or you can go and play, and what I ask them to do is go to Old Trafford and play. If they play, it's 80,000 + 11, versus 11, and the opposition has no chance. I give them that responsibility, if they are behind my players we have a big chance."

Which yeye player of the tourny?

His only good performance was vs Roma team.
Young was our best player in that pre-season followed by Welbeck.

Against Real madrid for example, Welbeck was our best player in the first half and once he went off, the team looked drab. We weren't creating much after the first goal BTW.

In fact our 2nd goal was through a lucky cross that sailed into the net. Not until Kagawa, Lingard and Chicharito introduction did the team start to look like scoring plenty of goals!

You on the other hand should stop watching Rooney performances through his highlight goals, watch the whole match or at least, all his touches!

Which coach goes monitoring a player in another league when he has his own team to worry about? Why couldn't Nani stay back if he wants monitoring from the coach?

The only monitoring that's being done is to see if the said players has enough game time, especially in the case of kids that went on loan, not experienced players!
