@henry u av a sharp and detailed eye, you know av since the picture early these morning but i didn't take notice of them.

Anyway, in the first picture the model of the drone looks like what's in already in our inventory the CH-3A and in the previous pictures on the same table and the the sake conference room the CH-3A UAV iis not there, it's another UAV drone model type.

To me it's seeks like the NAF is hunting for new drone platform's. What happened in that conference room looks like a presentation on drone prototypes, just saying.... shocked

The CH-3A is still there, look carefully after the globe on the table, you'll still see it. However the drone model that is directly facing the camera in the next two photos is the CH-4.

The Pakistanis don't make drones, the CH-Series is from China. Your argument would have been plausible if it was the Chinese military, and not Pakistan.

This whole episode is still open for a discussion, but i maintain that we might, there's a 60% chance we also have the CH-4 in service as well as the CH-3A. My opinion.

Apart from Ammo for different "Small & Heavy" weapons, there really is no need for us to manufactures stuffs like Assault weapons, AGL or MGL, HMG et al. We should instead concentrate on the different types of ammo these equipment use.

The market for small arms, AGL is already so saturated with multiple suppliers that we would end up making a terrible loss. Look at France, they are planing on replacing the FAMAS, for the exact same reason i'm giving, they are buying from abroad.

This is my opinion.
I understand sha but I just made that suggestion seeing we mount it on things that move

@Tdayof and @iblawi, the Pakistani Chief of Defence Staff is currently in Nigeria, and he visited our CAS. I'm sure they most have talked about the JF-17s.

So, like we now know, the Pakis are in town, however this isn't the news, the Pakis, Americans, British and Israelis are always in town, in-fact lately the Chinese also.

What is news is, why would the CAS have a model of an aircraft that is not known to be in NAF service in his conference room?

.....Usually, senior chiefs have a replica of an aircraft they have in the country's inventory in their offices. It's a practice done right across the world.

The Nigerian CAS has a replica/model of an armed UAV, a CH-3A in his conference table, as expected. Nothing unusual there.photo 1

However in the preceding photos, we can see a model of a CH-4 UAV, a type not known to be in service. why would the CAS have a model of the CH-4 in his office, except if the CH-4 is in service.

I guess, we can only wait and see if i'm right or wrong.

You are smart. Pakistani chief of defence staff must be in Nigeria for a purpose. Although he was with the police 2 days ago too. The airforce already said JF17 thunder and mi35 helicopters will be in service soon, am just bothered about the numbers we are expecting.

Bashir rushes to the rescue of Machar in remote DRC town
Read more at: http://www.standardmedia.co.ke/article/2000212532/bashir-rushes-to-the-rescue-of-machar-in-remote-drc-town/?pageNo=1

Details have emerged about a mission to evacuate wounded South Sudan rebel leader Riek Machar from his reported hideout in a remote town in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Yesterday reports indicated that Sudan President Omar al-Bashir’s government had dispatchedan aeroplane to rescue Dr Machar. Machar has been stranded in DRC in a place called Dungu after he fled South Sudan. The runaway VP has been holed up there with a Brigadier Simon Bangong and 100 soldiers for several days. There are reports that there were plans to evacuate him to another country on Wednesday but the move failed as it was dark by the time hired helicopters arrived at Dungu. He was reportedly moved to a small town named Isiro along with a few of his soldiers. Isiro is about 200km south-west of Dungu. But yesterday, an official informed The Standard that a large transport plane, suspected to be an Antonov, landed at Isiro with Sudanese military officials and commandos who received Machar from unnamed UN officials at the local airstrip. Some reports indicate a top official from Khartoum's presidency was on the plane. Accounts of Machar's desperate pleas in DRC emerged on a day his spokesman James Gatdet Dak confirmed that the former South Sudan first vice president had left the troubled nation.

NAF is really taking PR serious these days. I think it's all about leadership, this current Chief of air staff knows the benefits.
Kudos to them for keeping the citizens informed.

NAF SUCCESSFULLY TEST FIRES ANOTHER LOCALLY WEAPONIZED A-JET AIRCRAFT
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) today successfully test fired another locally weaponized Alpha Jet aircraft acquired from overseas without weapon delivery capability. The latest feat makes the third Alpha Jet aircraft to be so reconfigured and weaponised locally. The NAF, at the heat of the Boko Haram insurgency, had acquired three Alpha Jet aircraft from private individuals in the United States however without combat capability. Subsequent efforts to use foreign vendors to re-militarise the aircraft proved abortive for several reasons. The challenge led the NAF to look inward for solution locally by assembling a team of engineers and technicians designated NAF “Technical Response Team (TRT)” comprising serving and retired NAF personnel, and civilians. The team, has since its inauguration, achieved tremendous successes that have greatly enhanced the operational capability of the NAF, especially with respect to the ongoing fight against the Boko Haram insurgency in the North East, as well as saved huge foreign exchange for the nation. One other major feat achieved with the latest reconfigured aircraft is its ability to fire rockets and bombs from both the East and West blocks.

This is a good development. It should open the government eyes to see the need for more research and development and reduce the dependency on foreign technology.

With the right sort of leadership, so much can be achieved. The Nigerian Air Force has got it's P.R in the bag. Constantly updating the general public on the events taken by the service. A lot of credit has to go to the NAF's current P.R chief, Group-Captain Famuyiwa, that guy and his team have been very fantastic. Everything the NAF has done, we have seen, Fighter jets, Drones, Helicopters, Humanitarian assistance, projects, exercise, operational videos, ISR assets, even promotional videos have been released by the Air Force.

In contrast to the Navy, it's unfortunate that the Navy looks completely lost. Exercise photos.... Zero, Project photos... Zero, Local Navy builds.... Zero, Arepo Ops...... Zero, Assets and Vessels...... Zero. A service that has taken 80 patrol boats, and is currently building/overhauling 9 different types of Vessels and Ships, has nothing to show for it.

Ignorant folks can say whatever they like. The achievements of the NAF speaks for the service. Even with the local weaponisation of these Alpha jets, foreign vendors quoted a cost of 25 million naira per plane, the NAF instead assembled a team of local engineers comprising of current NAF personnel, Ex NAF and civilian contractors, they did the job at only 3 million naira per plane.

The JF-17s are a forgone conclusion, we can sure bet the NAF would provide us proper visuals when they arrive.

The navy wasn't always like this, Infact I think they were the ones leading the pack in terms of P.R around that 2012-2013 era, they even had a Vimeo account !

That was when they led the "No COT (crude oil theft)" campaign. But I guess it's no longer a priority to them.

By the way who supplies the navy with those automatic grenade launchers ? Is it still Singapore kinetics

Those were the good old days, they even invited Beegeagle to SBS camp, JMSTC Ojo, also partnered with him on NO COT at the time.

Yeah, it is still SK. They've been doing business with Singapore Kinetics for a very long time now. All navy 12.7mms and AGLs are from there.
