If your mum has an account, she can take with her but most importantly are the documents from her sponsor. However, it's been stated again and again that the embassy isn't interested in your documents. Now, visit

You can have enough for her flight booking and upkeep bearing in mind that the Naira has devalued. However, those documents would likely not be examined by the officer. Great emphasis is on her application and interview. These will show her strong ties to Nigeria. Prepare her for it.

Your visa can be refused for may reasons.

If the VO is not satisfied with your accounts.
Or your ties to prove return to home.

Good morning sir.
There are many things attached to traveling to Uganda.

These countries dont always update everything in their site.

If you are very willing to go to uganda without issues..
1st contact a Nigerian in Uganda for best directions on getting into Uganda.

Nigerian passport attract alot of attention I tell you.

So they come up with some strange rules that were never updated in their site..
Since you knew nobody there is nothing you can do.

Example mozambique is visa on arrival in every website.. but try am na you will be in the next available flight back to your country.

bottom line : Get proper direction from a Nigerian in Uganda.
Obrigado

Sorry but i would advise you to handle this yourself. Middle men have cause enough problems for Us Nigerians both home and away. A Nigerian in Uganda is NOT THE EMBASSY.

There's a huge difference between visa on arrival and applying for a Visa before arrival. It wont cost you much to find out from the embassy directly if you require more information. They wont bite you.

sir I am not saying you are wrong but I am saying that..

Its better you know a Nigerian there you TRUST and knows what he is doing tongue

Cos he would Go to the immigration there and get proper information there

Let me give you an example

When I arrived Tanzania (Visa on arrival)
I paid $50 and got a visa.. but the American behind me was charged $100.

He went haywire and insisted he checked the country immigration site just before leaving (Kenya) country on transit. That its $50 for Americans.

He became a fool after all the shouting because he still paid the $100 or you go back.

Sir I am not saying you are wrong, but it will be better if you know any trusted one in Uganda to do a proper research for you.
Or if there is a physical embassy in Nigeria where you can get the visa then it's ok.

It's an African country sir

cheers smiley

Thanks and just like you said, an embassy is present in Nigeria where he can get enquiries from. I just called the embassy of Uganda now to enquire if the information they have on their website is up to date and they confirmed that it is.

I believe the first source of valid information should come from the Embassy whether it is perfect or not. Second source of information should come from others.

I disagree healthily grin in the area of priority. Embassy first? Or phone a friend? Keeping in mind that this is a Visa before arrival scenario. I case my rest. smiley

Is your brother a business partner to your mom?
Anyway, she would need to provide her bank statement in order to fulfill the requirements

If you use two month old statement you shout to the visa officer that the money is no longer there.
They will check rigorously and if funds are missing it is fraud.

They have ways of finding out if a statement is genuine!

If you show a statement that shows 2mill
but there is only 1.3 there when they check they may call it fraud which is serious.

Simple answer is to use a recent statement of account. This is usually the requirement and standard of account statement submission.

There's a bottleneck involved when Embassies try to get information from banks that the applicant did not submit.

The Embassy would rather send you back to get a more recent one or refuse your application altogether.

No you cant.

To apply Sept 28th, You need to present a statement printed earliest on Sep 18th.

1.3M is still a good amount so long as the inflow-outflow is constant and source of funds verifiable.
