opia12345:What you need to do is apply for PNP to raise your point if you are nominated you get extra 600points, that was what I did last year and am getting positive result now, TRV should be the second option 2 Likes |

paparazzi1987: Both sides are right CIC will not give you trv beyond your passport expiry date but if your passport still have more than a year they will most likely give you trv up to expiration of your passport and you will extend your trv after you renew your passport but if your passport has less than a year to expire they will ask you to renew your passport before you are issued a trv. 8 Likes |

Arcayo:bro,i seek for clarification. because as I undstand most PNP nomination programs are based on either working experience in that province or living in that province experience like quebec. I have never seen an applicant from nija using PNP nomination(i stand to be corrected) most app for express entry from nija are federal skilled programs with years of working experience. most students at maple land use Canada experience class if not working in Canada. so bro abeg explain how you take do your own, I fito make anoda app with dual intent sef |

Hello house!!! I'm new here but I've been following d thread though. Nice work everyone for reaching out & helping each other in your own little way. To all d gurus @yemdogg, @arcayo, @nonelikeGod, @michV, @lawmerchant....God Bless you all. Please I have a question and will appreciate a response. Please is it wise/ok to apply for a study permit visa by oct (say 1st/2nd week at most) against January start date? I would have loved to defer to spring start date to provide me ample time to package the required docs & also give d embassy some time but d course I intend going for isn't running at dat time. It only runs for sept/Jan. My offer isn't out though but I'm told decisions will be made by 2nd week/towards d end of sept & I'm sure ild be admitted by God's Grace. Should I go ahead & apply then considering the time btw oct & Jan? Also I heard there are usually few VO's at dat time cos of d festive period which is approaching..,how true is this pls? |

kisstaye:Nova Scotia opened for application last year from January to December. Saskatchewan opened in January, May, June, and July 2016 but meet the threshold in less than 24/48hrs in each month I was lucky to applied to the 2province. To know better check each province website also don't limit your visit in Nairaland on this thread. Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by Tarry(m): 6:34pm On Aug 29, 2016 |
Arcayo: That link is about express entry not provincial nomination programs. Yes you can enter express entry from Nigeria for Federal skilled workers or Canadian experience class but not PNP. Additionally Job offer or PNP will give you big points in the express entry program and take you to the top of the queue but you can't get PNP from here without job offer from a company in that province |

kisstaye:@Kisstaye I will attempt to clarify this once and for all. When requesting for your passport CIC makes a general statement that your visa will not be issued beyond your passport expiry date. The rule-of-thumb for Nigerian passport immigration office is that if your passport has validity of more than 6 months you cannot renew your passport (some peoplemay have succeeded doing that with passport expiry beyond 6 months, I sincerely don't know how they did it). So if your passport is less than 6 months it's advisable to renew it. But if you have a 1 year valid passport CIC will give you 1 year trv. Which can be extended as soon as you extend your passport with Nigerian embassy in Canada. Nigerian embassy in Canada gives students special consideration when renewing your passport you collect it same day in Ottawa. But for others you buy self-addressed courier envelop and receive it within 5 working days. Then renwal of study permit within Canada is less than 14 days everything done online. So no need to panic focustomers on getting your initial trv. Renewal of trv is not compulsory except that you need it in order to re-enter Canada when you travel out of Canada. 5 Likes 1 Share |

[quote author=Arcayo post=48905782] You just read the first page and come back to comment, well if you really want to know about PNP do some reading please[/quotActually Actually I read beyond the first page but let me make my point clear. To get a PNP varies from one province to another but common criteria is job over from a company in the province and they also have provincial express entry which is more like. CIC express entry and if you don't have enough points how can you get the PNP to boost you points. I know they also have graduate PNP which requires you to graduate in Canada. The questions is how can you get a PNP when you don't have a job offer and not a graduate from Canada post secondary schools and your points is low which was the originally issue 1 Like |

damilare222:Sorry for this guys I love this saying "Wetin you no sabi pass you" Nigerians we are too damn lazy to read Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry is not accepting new applications at this time. The Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry stream selects highly skilled individuals who wish to live in Nova Scotia permanently. Applicants must have a good chance of quickly finding a job in Nova Scotia’s labour market. The Nova Scotia Office of Immigration reserves the right to consider only certain types of occupations for nomination, depending on current labour market needs. ELIGIBILITY To apply you must: 1. have at least 1 year of skilled work experience in one of our target occupations; 2. have a Canadian high school credential or equivalent; 3. prove language ability in English or French at Canadian Language Benchmark 7; 4. score 67 points or more on the stream’s six selection factors; 5. show enough financial resources to successfully settle in Nova Scotia; 6.have a profile registered in Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s Express Entry system 2 Likes |

damilare222: Truth is most province have express entry through which you can get pnp but you need to score high points like the cic express entry. Outside this you must either have a job offer or have graduated from a school in canada to get pnp. |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by yemdogg: 9:50pm On Aug 29, 2016 |
Tarry: LET ME WEIGH IN ON THIS ISSUE. If you score up to 400 points in the crs, the province of Ontario will send you a mail to apply for Ontario PNP. The secret of PNP is a permanent full-time job offer from an employer in the province. LMAI is also another way of getting PR in Canada. Express Entry candidates who have a job offer supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) from a Canadian employer will be invited to apply for permanent residence the next time the system draws applicants from the Express Entry pool. Candidates with a qualifying job offer or PN are awarded 600 CRS points, and will be invited to apply at a subsequent draw from the pool. Draws typically occur around every two weeks, with the lowest CRS point requirement of any draw thus far having been 450. When a draw takes place, candidates with a CRS score equal to or above the requirement are issued an ITA, after which they may submit an application. Once they do so, they leave the pool. Therefore, the number of candidates with a score equal to or above the most recent CRS ‘cut-off’ point is generally relatively low, as there is a constant flow of people leaving the pool due to the submission of applications. FOR CANDIDATES WITH NO JOB OFFER OR PNP NOMINATION YOU CAN BUILD ON YOUR CORE HUMAN CAPITAL FACTORS Under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), up to 600 points are awarded for core human capital factors and skills transferability, which take into account factors such as a candidate’s age, education, language proficiency, and work experience. If a candidate takes steps to improve certain human capital factors, he or she may be awarded additional points under the CRS. Steps that may be taken include: Completing an educational degree, diploma or certificate Having the spouse or common-law partner of the principal applicant complete an educational degree, diploma, or certificate Improving ability in English and/or French and taking (or re-taking) a standardized language test recognized by the government of Canada Having the spouse or common-law partner of the principal applicant improve ability in English and/or French and having him or her take (or re-take) a standardized language test recognized by the government of Canada Gaining additional work experience Having the spouse or common-law partner of the principal applicant gain additional work experience By taking one or more of these steps, candidates in the Express Entry pool may see their ranking improve under the CRS. If you score over 400 Points in the CRS, you can create an express entry profile and build on it. upgrade your profile from time to time once you have enough points in the crs, you will be invited to apply for PR by the Govt of Canada. Calculate your score here https://www.canadavisa.com/comprehensive-ranking-score-calculator.html Or here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp 1 Like 1 Share |
