TonyeBarcanista:Please stop talking as though everything just suddenly got to how it is. Growth takes time. And America didn't suddenly appear in their present timeline. Do I need to start explaining to you why population matters in things like this and how it will take time for the effect of population to be masked by the prosperity of a nation, just as is the case of America today? Does that mean America didn't get to a point where they were better in absolute terms but lagged on the average behind Great Britain? Stop being too emotional about this and reason objectively. 9 Likes 2 Shares |

TonyeBarcanista: And here goes another unpatriotic fool who would sell his country at any price with misleading information just to discredit his political adversaries!!! Tonyebacarnista, please stick to domestic politics, you're an exhibit A of ignorance when you venture into geopolitics. Kenya isn't even amongst Africa's top 10 countries. If you want to slight APC, fine. Do it domestically. Comparing Nigeria to Kenya means you're an ignoramus, a compound simpleton and a political turncoat. You're a disgrace in a single word. Now to facts: Only 42% of Kenyans are connected to the national grid as against 50% in Nigeria despite our exploding population. So Kenyans are having huge power issues when not even faced with vandalism of pipelines carrying gas to plants. Kenya rely on tourism to feed, dummy. How dare you compare tourism between Nigeria and Kenya? Are you a daft? It is like comparing holiday resorts between the Mediterranean countries and America, or tourism between Egypt and Canada. Boy, Kenya is so undeveloped their natural wild animals roam free, British tourists had to set up game reserves and tame those animals and in the process provide food for 45 million starving Kenyans whose social graces and living conditions were no better than bonobo-chimpanzees. And get your facts right, Kenya is in East Africa not West. Life expectancy? Boy, What's that got to do with geopolitics. Little countries always have higher life experiences, E.g Luxembourg, Switzerland, Finland and two other silly Asian countries, I can't even bring their names to the fore, but they aren't Japan or South Korea or China and these other small countries have higher life expectancies than US , Germany, UK, France. You're a glorified daft. The toks2008 of political section. Mr. Unpatriotic daft, have you compared Nigeria's PPP and GDP to Kenya's? Have you compared our per capita income to Kenya's? Olodo. Over half of Kenya is of virgin vegetation as it was from creation. Even Nairobi is half forested with unproductivity and primal existence. Olodo, what is the size of Kenya's middle class in percentage compared to Nigeria's? A fool like you is talking mobile money when NIGERIA is talking space technology, being the only 2 or 3 African countries to launch sattelite into the orbit. Nigeria is ranked no3 in Africa in technology just behind Egypt and south Africa and i couldn't find Kenya in that list. As we speak, Nigeria's banks and firms are dominating Western and Eastern Africa and i can't seem to remember any Kenyan firm scattered across Africa . We are undergoing economic recession at the moment as many other counties who depend on single commodity product for revenue generation, but don't ever compare NIGERIA with Kenya, you ignorant fool. Puvour:If you look at Nigeria in the 60s-70s, we were far ahead of Kenya and most African countries. We had the potential to GROW to the status of second world country (if not first) and we had additional advantage of oil wealth. But all through the years, we sink deeper than we were. We have even left third world status technically. Our infrastructures went on decay, have Petroleum but we can't refine. Our tourism sector DIED. We can't even provide good road and electricity. Instead of consolidating our system of leadership we have sank deeper. In 2016 when the world is advancing we are struggling for devolution of power and federalism (Pls don't tell me the north). Nigeria is in a deep mess, we are rubbing shoulder with South Sudan at present, we have potentials but can only get out of our mess if we admit that we are messed up and seek to fix it. Other Africans are beginning to see us as chest beating King Kong. We can't continue this path. 7 Likes 1 Share |

TonyeBarcanista:Preach it Bro. I think this issue of unmerited comparisons starts with the kind of environment and training you received as a child, for so long Nigerian official statistics tend to suppress the facts on the ground, then dish out bloated lies to massage the egos of the so called people that matters in Nigeria, and majority of our youths tends to believe that. Travelling is really part of education, the very first day I touched down in Nairobi, I secretly told my self " Bros we got jobs to do in Nigeria". Our youths needs to travel more often within and outside Nigeria, it will bring out the greatness in all us. Nigeria is blessed Nigeria will be great Nigeria will be the pride of Africa We will get there if the Will is there, we have what it takes. 7 Likes |

TonyeBarcanista: I think it is posts like yours and the response of FFK that has further amplified what should have ordinarily 'passed away' as a brief moment of childish tantrums throwing. And I wouldnt have bothered with a response if this didn't come from someone as erudite as yourself. This is because, I personally see this whole episode as nothing more than a display of infantile idiocy on both sides, the type we exhibited as little children, each time we had disagreements with our playmates. But when people like FFK and a widely circulated newspaper like Vanguard goes ahead to give needless publicity to this idiocy; then it does nothing but typify everything that is wrong with the black man. And is no different from a scenario where two people who woefully failed an exam, argue back and forth on who performed better than the other. If the Americans and Chinese engage in this type of debate, I 'might' understand, but for the citizens of two struggling economies to be doing this... Most hardworking Nigerians on whose back the greatness of this country is being built will never have the time to even acknowledge, not to talk of responding to this; because they are probably too busy cooking up the next big thing, or even forging business alliances across the continent to be bothered by what a few kids think. Very soon, the arguments might even degenerate to morbid comparisons like, the number of people killed by Boko Horam Vs those killed by Al-Shabab. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

TonyeBarcanista:I acknowledge your points. But I see you are shifting towards sociopolitical issues. Even though those issues cannot be completely ruled out of national development, the point I sought to address in the first place is our level of (tangible/material) development presently in comparison to Kenya. And even in Nigeria's current economic recession which by the way is temporary, that level of development is still (in absolute terms) better than Kenya. 3 Likes |

lezznjr: Why bring me into this? Young man let me advice you..it is a sign of low IQ to curse and abuse on an interactive forum. Infact I ignore people who act as you do cos they are a threat to themselves as the act wricks a lack of mental cohesion and good psychological well being. When you read an opinion of another just learn to calm down and tender yours. Being educated goes beyond the ability to write grammar but it also involves the intellectual prowess to hold up arguments without vulgarity. Donald Trump may never get close to the white house due to this appalling nature you just displayed ....cursing while you should be discussing issues intelligently is a low life attitude. Please adjust and don't bother cursing me cos you will only be wasting your time..I am too intellectually mature to troll. Have a great day 16 Likes |

Toks2008: I would like to fault you on the grounds of sedimented build up of condensed hypocrisy. Donald, like lezznjr whom you quoted refused to be politically correct in the face of an ever-increasing hypocritical world that is ready to sell its values for acceptance. In the face of deep, unfathomable insult to the over 170mil Nigerians on an open, wildly-spread internet forum with international outreach by comparing Nigeria to Kenya in a misleading manner, can produce an indignation as blazing as an angry volcano. And the young man simply responded with a matching, unyielding patriotic gusto. I understand your grudge in feeling slighted with the dishonourable comparison; but you showed your core when you honoured your handle above the dignity of your fellow countrymen. Like your last thread, you once again measured humanity by your narrow-mindedness and personal cognitive limitations. 10 Likes 3 Shares |

TonyeBarcanista:and where the hell did u get that from? now i will help enlighten you and i hope this disabuses your mind about "the real nigeria economy". And i do hope you do a rejoinder and an apology to Nigerians for the damage you have done to our image on the cyberspace. on the bases of unfounded statistics. Growth in the Non-oil sector was largely driven by the following 7 activities of Agriculture, Information & Communication, Water supply, Arts entertainment and recreation, Professional scientific and technical services, Education and Other Services which all grew positively while the remaining 19 major sectors, many of which are substantially indirectly dependent on the oil sector recorded negative growth. The non-oil sector accordingly, declined by 0.38% in real terms in the Second Quarter of 2016. This growth rate was 0.20% points lower than the First Quarter of 2016 (-0.18%), and 3.84% points lower from the corresponding quarter in 2015 (3.46%) (Figure 3). In real terms, the Non-Oil sector contributed 91.74% to the nation’s GDP, higher from shares recorded in the First Quarter of 2016 (89.71%) and the Second Quarter of 2015 (90.20%). source NATIONAL BUREAU OF STATISTICS http://www.nigerianstat.gov.ng/report/434 Now Nigeria youths i implore you to go through the national bereau of statistics' document on Nigeria's GDP to see for yourself the state of the Nigerian economy. albeit in recession but that's not still the bases to compare Nigeria with Kenya. Nigeria can only be rivaled by the likes of south Africa and Egypt not Kenya cc lezznjr (you are doing a great job) 4 Likes 1 Share |

Toks2008: Animated and heated discussion cannot be exempted from politics. Your thread is a geopolitical sacrilege fraught with misleading information to hoodwink Nigerians and belittle our psyche in the midst of African global audience. You're a turncoat, a mindless traitor and politically amoral. When you set out to pen this thread, your goal was to discredit the APC ( I don't care for either the PDP or APC) and you cared little about the means in satisfying your objective; discrediting Nigeria falsely is nothing to you as long as slaying APC or Buhari is your mission. You're a little minded person and unthinking one. Go heal yourself from your personal generated APC-monomania. Let me tell you about the country, Nigeria the country of my identity: Nigeria alongside Egypt, Lybia, Algeria, South Africa are the principal donors of the AU. Yes. The AU survives on us and few charitable foreign donors. Kenya isn't there. Nigeria is the highest UN peacekeeping donor to the AU just behind Ethiopia. Nigeria is in the MINT counties alongside countries like Mexico, Indonesia and Turkey. That's our projection. Nigeria is the only subsaharan country to launch her own satellite into space and it's used by several African countries. Nigeria has one of the highest per capital income in Africa (5th) and Kenya didn't make the cut. 75% of the entire economy of West Africa is controlled by Nigeria. Nigeria is home to Africa's biggest number of billionaires Home to Africa's 2nd conglomeration of millionaires just behind south Africa! Kenya isn't there. Nigeria has one of the highest internet users and penetration in all of Africa. Kenya is synonymous with animals and wild life. Nigeria is home to Africa's largest and biggest entertainment industries (3rd worldwide). In the streets of Kenya, Zimbabwe and other eastern African countries Nigeria's model of entrepreneurship is being envied. In Africa's diplomatic corridors, only 5 powerful and influential countries are known; They are; Nigeria Egypt South Africa Ethiopia (which is East/central Africa's power house and not Kenya) Algeria. The other countries are geopolitical tagalongs. Do you see ? When I call you an ignoramus and a fool, I wasn't trolling. I was addressing you by your name. You're half-educated in these matters. Once again stick to domestic politics. I really long to troll sense into your head. N.B: I forgot to answer your first question: You and tonyebacarnista two of the most controversial folks in NL. You both crave the limelight at any and all cost sacrificing anything in the process. Tonyebacarnista, this post is meant chiefly for you. 9 Likes 5 Shares |
