Osinbajo should av been a far beta option than buhari. But at this moment it's seems osinbajo is buhari's boi-boi.Buhari isn't intellectuali sound at all,he understands nothing about economics. The onli plan buhari had as a president is fighting corruption and it stops there.Impeach buhari and place "osinbade" abeg-from a niger delta indigene. |

I don't think Nigerians understand the definition of recession. Nigeria has been in a recession since independence na. You guys have been using oil to prop up the economy and now that the price has fallen, there is nowhere else to hide. 1 Like |

sledjama: I beg to differ on the issue of exporting in order to grow our economy. I believe emphasis should be on satisfying the Nigerian market. This will drastically reduce our trade deficit. We shouldn't focus on exporting raw materials that we can't control the price. Else same thing that happened with oil will repeat it self. Ever wondered why OPEC can't control price of oil but, American government can control the price of military hardware? It's all about value. The currency of today's economy is creativity and Innovation. We must focus on adding value to our raw minerals before exporting. We should be exporting chocolate, beverages etc instead of exporting just cocoa and have the West determine the price of our cocoa, oil etc |

Zombies. Will never agree to this. I think something of great importance this man said is the President should always, ALWAYS communicate hope. But the proud dullard of Daura will never do that. Not only national holiday you address your people. Thank GOD I took my anti AAB(APC AND BUHARI) Vaccine last year. I'm immune to zombeism |

Excellent post, just excellent. Didn't know this man was so learned in economic matters. Reached the TSA point and stopped reading. This is exactly what I have been saying for months. Now is not the time for TSA. That money should be given the banks as bailout and not domiciled with the CBN which is not a business interface at all. Note: I did not say reverse or discard TSA completely. Banks should never be revenue collectors or holders ever again, but the funds should be made available to them to use in designated ways, for specific periods and should be repayed with interest to the treasury. Let government use banks as the fulcrum, the engine of economic recover while it plays its own part as navigator. I believe one of the reasons why foreign capital delays in coming is because our local banks are viewed as weak and vulnerable partners for any investment drive. And everyone knows that banks will not trade with you without your serious counterpart investment. Secondly is the issue of the deregulation itself which js viewed as half hearted by both local and foreig investors. The Naira is still not floating free and it is causing as much friction and heat an an electrical partial contact which can short circuit the economy and set it ablaze. For goodness sake these investors see the corruption the pu.ss.y footing has caused and will not take the bait. My concern now is that I hope the 2020 is not misunderstood to mean when policies will be righted because even in advanced economies with tested, high tech recession recovery tools, the light typically takes 5 years or so to emerge at the end of the tunnel. So you can imagine how lomg it will take us who are further bogged down with real, fundamental, structural socio-cultural, socio-political problems and have no experience or competencies to guarantee a recovery anyway except for the mercies of the lord of the black oil. 1 Like |

oyegbe:Indirectly you've admitted that those at the helm of things doesn't know much or way out, OK right. His advice is similar to that of Soludo, government must spend more by injecting or releasing more money on capital projects, SME supports-this is very important, economy doesn't grow by the likes of dangote, capital oils, Otadolas etc, it's effectively felt through these SMEs and impacted most in the life of average citizens. |
