All Northern states are still regarded as Educationally Less Developed States by Jamb classification. Any attempt to improve the quality of education for the Northern youth will be vehemently resisted as that would deny them of their well deserved 'ELDS' title.

I noticed two commentators that seem 'excited' with the fact that schools built by GEJ in the North are not been utilised.

these same people will be in an uproar when you point out how rudderless this administration is & complain that some people revel in negative news about PMB's regime.

well, I hope they will take to heart the change begins with me campaign soundbite they are coming up with...

no wonder MoI got a larger budget than Agric, Labour & Solid Minerals...

Give them Education, and you've given them their future. The northern elites are scared of this. They were opposed to it in the first instance so this doesn't really surprise me. A man came up with a plan to help the north in a way none of theirs never thought and now they are giving excuses... remain ignorance jare.

The Northern elites know exactly what they're doing by keeping their people illiterate and poor. THEY OPPOSED THOSE SCHOOLS from the get go, because the schools would liberate their lower class from the shackles of ignorance and gullibility, and they can't have that.

Governors should open those schools. If they were in the South, they would be open even if half-completed.

See Emir Sanusi's children

South south, South east or south west?

These bunch are really pathetic. You don't want your children educated hence they continueto wallow in ignorance so that you perpetually lord over them.If not for racial bigotry, tell me how a Fed.Government School will not be easy to run; but a more highly expensive school run by Atiku Abubarka's own American University of Nigeria is now an option? Well continue as the lost or backwardness still remains with you guys.Nonsense.

Jonathan OFFENDED leaders of Northern Nigeria, by providing quality EDUCATION that could UNLEASH the potentials of the children of the poor, against the over pampared & spoilt children of the elites.

These northern leaders know what they are doing by refusing to let their subjects be exposed to sound education, they know that good education liberates, and they don't want their subjects liberated so that they won't stand up to challenge them or their kids now and in the future.

That's why education there seems to be always expensive.

The ignorance of their non-elite youths there is alarming and their leaders want it to remain like that so that those youths will be an easy tool in their hands.
my dear education over there is not expensive, come to the east and see how expensive education is.

According to him, the state is bothered by the number of out-of-school children and the non-operation of the school as a result of funding gaps and the government’s inability to recruit the personnel needed for its take-off because such schools required specialised teachers.

Are their teachers now imported??
In the south anything can be used as a school even a rented shop with secondary school teachers pupils is be there learning . In this case there is a structure employ teachers and teach this leaders of tomorrow he says education is too expensive SMH .

North has the worse leaders in the world

Education can never be too expensive.

Why do God bestow on us this set of leaders? God why! Gej took the north as a project yet they never regarded him. Mr governor if your Children are schooling in Abroad please don't deny these children their right.
The parents of those so called almajiri are the ones denying them children right, they have no plans for kids but yet they keep producing them anyhow and expect the government to take care of them that's total rubbish.
I knew this school would not see the light of day because it is free, research have showed that free education has always not been taking serious by the students and sometimes even parents.
